The Indelible Indie-ish Inkshares
Catchy mouthful of a title, right? Well, sit back and grab a beverage (or snack) of your choice because I am going to tell you a story...
Once upon a time there was a website named Inkshares. Now, for fictional purposes, we are going to imagine several things.
Thing number one: Inkshares wanted to be different.
Thing number two: Inkshares wanted to help people.
Thing number three: Inkshares wanted to be awesome.
Dear readers, I can assure you that all three things are true. Inkshares is different, helps people, and most importantly...is very awesome. Now here is why in some quite technical, non-fairytale words..
Inkshares allows readers to choose which work they want published. If you like a story, you pre-order it and help that story grow to reach a pre-order goal. If you really, really, really like the story, you tell other people about it and get them to pre-order it so you can one day hold that story in your hands (or in your e-reader of choice). And most of all, you make a writer very, very happy by enabling them to reach a goal and get published.
Isn't that a happy story?
Okay, quaint and quirky aside, here's the rundown of Inkshares.
- Writers set a crowdfunding goal for their work
- Writers ask people to help them with that goal
- The people who helped ask others to help
- Inkshares uses the pre-order money (people are only charged if a project reaches its goal) to make the writer's work into something most awesome, pretty, and then present it to the world as we know it through Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Books-A-Million, and many, many more
If you liked this story (and you like me! *insert tooth-sparkling grin*) and you want to read my work in a shiny paperback form (or e-reader of your choice) then would you please use this link and help me on my pre-order goal? It's as easy as 1-2-3-4...
1 - sign into Inkshares https://www.inkshares.com/ (sign in window is the same as creating an account)
2 - search for my book "Scribbles: A Collection of Words" and follow it (Or use this link: https://www.inkshares.com/projects/sc... )
3 - check your email (you should have two emails saying you have $5 in credits each)
4 - You can pre-order a copy of my book using the free credits given you.
Optional 5 - Put Scribbles: A Collection of Words on your to-read shelf!
The End
Psst, don't forget to check out the other books on Inkshares from the people I follow!!!

Something New...
Now that Spinner is out, I have time to work on other things! Cool, post-apocalyptic-ish trilogy things. Afterwards such things be called, and to whet your appetietes, here's the first bit of the draft currently in-revision...
----------------
~Then~
Seventeen days ago the world was normal.
I was on the roof of my house, listening to music. It was late – so late it could have been called early – and then white streaks swept across the star-studded darkness. I remember being confused; looking for storm clouds. But the sky was clear.
And then the bombs hit.
They hurtled from the sky, the sound of their fall worse than thunder – a scream. Anyone who had seen at least one war movie would have recognized it.
I will never forget that sound.
A bomb hit the ground several houses away and the impact shook my entire house. The roof buckled, and my scream was lost in the noise. When silence finally came, I crawled out of the piled rubble that had once been my home. I was bruised, shaken, scared – but I was alive. And as the hours dragged on, as I searched and called and begged, I realized I was the only one.
----------------
If you want to read the rest (a somewhat edited draft) of this story, it is on Wattpad and will be until the end of the Wattys Wattpad Story Awards.

A Spinner Excerpt
To whet your appetites for Spinner's release date of September 9th, here's a teensy appetizer:
--------------------
“What is my payment?”
I am a statue carved from confusion. “Pay…payment?”
The spinner holds out a hand expectantly; his fingers are long and lean, chapped from the dryness of the straw. My gaze darts to the gold.
“No. Not that,” he says. “That is my work. It cannot pay for itself.”
“I don’t have anything,” I whisper. Nothing worth the treasure he spun.
He glances at the bracelet on my wrist. It is plain and the silver tarnished, but it was my mother’s. She gave it to me on her deathbed and since then I have never taken it off.
“That,” he says. “That will do.”
“This?” I ask, surprised.
I hold my wrist against my chest, fingers brushing over the surface. The price this simple band of silver would fetch could not hope to amount to that for even a foot of the gold thread. Let alone a room of it.
“Magic isn’t something that can be explained, it simply is. It takes while it gives. So” – the spinner steps closer, his outstretched hand demanding – “I have given you magic and now I must be paid.”

Hear Ye, Hear Ye!
After much consideration, consumption of caffeinated beverages containing chocolate, and a sigh at the editorial process, there is now an extremely official release date for Spinner. Yep, extremely.
*pause for dramatic effect*
On September 9th, Spinner will be released for your voracious eyes and minds to consume (if you are of the word-eater tendency) and enjoy. I know this a later release than hoped for, but because I firmly believe in releasing the highest possible quality of writing I can offer, such work does take time.
And, as a side note, I have written a short story and submitted it to the Sparks anthology editors for their perusal, so I shall see how that goes. I am also working on several novels that I plan to submit to agencies and publishers starting in the early months of 2016 - bit of a tentative date for that, as I am one part perfectionist and two-parts "ooh, look books to read and shows to watch!" of a writer.
So. Thus endeth the update. Cheers to all who have taken the time to look at my foray into the daunting realm of professional literacy - you all are totally awesome!

Spinner Release Date
Hello all!
This is going to be brief, as I believe all first things should be. No use wasting words when you're just beginning something - save them for the juicy middle!
Anyhoo.
Spinner is my first published story ever, and as such, it is a HUGE (and I mean HUGE ) learning process. Biggest thing I have learned: give yourself more time than you think for editing.
Seriously. Self-published or traditionally, my goal is to give the world the best that I have. Right now, Spinner is not at its best and has a good bit of polishing in store for the rough edges every story starts out with.
That being said, I'm planning and hoping on it being available for you to read sometime in July. I can't wait to share it with you; it's really exciting for me to finally be doing something "official" with my stories.
Lastly, I would like to thank each and every one of you who drops by my page - I do hope you have a lovely day!
