SPRING INTO ACTION GOING IN A NEW DIRECTION

Amazing how a new season can bring about change. As some of you, especially my Rav Stormers might know I was in the middle of writing the last installment of the Someone for Me trilogy, however the March wind blew and the April rain came and for some ungodly reason with 3 chapters left I lost my focus and began writing my new book which is a paranormal romance. The  book is basically writing itself which leads me to believe my decision to SPRING INTO ACTION GOING IN A NEW DIRECTION WAS THE

MARCH MADNESS IS HERE!!!

As some of you may know last month I had a complete knee replacement on my right knee. I was happy to get rid of the pain, however guess what I have pain. True this will end soon. I was also happy because I would have time to finish Someone for Me 3 Stone's Story and time to promote my books. Again no, for some reason everything in me switched. My drive to complete Someone for Me 3 Stone's Story seemed to dry up. Now mind you I have the cover, synopsis and the full outline. Yet another story

MEET AND GREET ME

I am so happy to be one of many talented authors this year at some of the most noted and exciting book festivals and fair. I hope to see some of my Rav Stomers, because regardless of how great it is to network with other Authors, it's the readers that makes the difference. I need to know and want to know what you the reader think. This is why we the Authors count so much on reviews. So whatever book you're reading, or have read, take a minute and review it on Amazon, Goodreads, Nook or whatever.

BRINGING BACK THE HEAT

I Rav Stormers, I’ve been busy in a great way, besides my regular job, home life and the holiday season, I just finished all the last minute touches to my new novel SOMEONE FOR ME 2 TINA’S TURN. Yes it is finally hear, I am taking pre-orders on Amazon.com for 12/29/15. It is on the same lines of Someone for Me, It’s hot, sexy, funny and touching. It focuses on Tina McNair as you know is Skye and Randall’s best friend. I hope everyone takes a minute to order the book. I think the writing and subject is a step above the first, meaning I’ve gotten better with time.

ANOTHER LEVEL

I’ve  kicked it into the next gear, taken it to the next level, entering another vortex. Ever since my Book Brunch with the ladies of Royalty, (Sandra Kitt, Shirley Hailstock, Donna Hill and Renee Daniel Flagler) I’ve taken on a new perspective concerning my artistry. With the help of LaShaunda Hoffman, I am looking at my goals much differently. I’ve kicked everything up a notch. This week I’m on blog radio, setting up my release party, organizing my fan/fam list, deleting unwanted groups and people. I’m inboxing and letting  those who I need to connect with that I am here and need their support, but are supporting them until the appointed time. If you read my last post GIVING FLOWERS TO THOSE DESERVING, everyone has a part to play in others lives even if the person doesn’t realize it. The old saying is “one hand washes the other” and another, “no man is an island.” So look out here I come, wings spread with lightening flashing to guide me through the darkness and the wind to push me along. I am Raven Storm.RAVEN STORM

GIVING FLOWERS TO THOSE DESERVING

When I fell in love with romance novels, I also feel in love with the authors and their characters. I remember in the late 70’s falling in love with Beatrice Small. I idolized this woman so much we became pen pals. When Skye O’malley came out I not only fell in love with the character I named my cat Skye and if you didn’t know the heroine in my novel Someone for Me is Skye. She is the first author I connected to. I could smell the food she described, I could see the clothes, hair,  the characters, she transported me every time.  I was sorry to hear she’d passed away this year in Febuary at the age of 77. This was my first love affair with romance. The second came in the late 90’s I fell in love with Brenda Jackson and the Madaris family. I must admit she was my first African American romance writer and today for me, she is royalty, the queen. I however have switched sides and am now obsessed with the Westmoreland family. How she does it, I don’t know. I still promote and tell people the story of Durango Westmoreland, from the Durango Affair, that boy was crazy. Still makes me laugh today. in the 2000’s I fell in love with Shirley Hailstock, she too is royalty, a princess, she showed me how love could be built upon in layers, the opposition of the characters supporting one another to a climax. I began writing short stories at this point. My favorite book and character is Cinnamon Scott of Wrong Dress, Right Guy. So like those who remember their best or favorite teacher, I  remember the books, characters and mostly the authors who not only gave me reading pleasures, but directed me on the path I am on now. I thank them, for they are truly royalty and in a class by themselves. Please note I have others who I’ve added to the list, but these are the ones who made a difference in my life and developed me into the writer I am today. Thank you hear are your flowers. Much love. MAIL LIST SIGN UP
