Almost there!
The novel is sitting pretty at 75,000 words after a massive, and very brutal edit. Still a few chapters left to go but feeling so much better about the work! So much has been going on here at the ranch I haven’t had time to write. The outline is set and I just need to get my fanny in gear and get this done! Have a great week everyone!

Floods and more floods
It’s been crazy here lately. Two months in a row now, we have had record floods. This last weekend was a historic flood in our area and needless to say we have been super busy. I am back to work on the novel, winding down on it and hope to have it finished by end of June. Looks like more rain on the way this weekend so we may be in the same situation as last weekend. Hope everyone is safe and dry out there!

Season winding down
Well our seasonal work job is about to wind down. I adore this job, it is a blast to go to work even if it is outdoors and begins well before the rooster crows. LOLO Orders are slowing down, hours are beginning to drop, and it is almost time to wrap up the season. My focus will soon be back on the book, and the mega-writing sessions will once again begin! Feeling anxious to get back to writing! The recent floods and power outages have really been awful, but it’s not the first time we’ve been through it and it probably won’t be the last. We are safe and sound and the house is okay and that is a blessing. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Whirlwind
Life is moving so fast this spring. Seasonal job in full swing, new puppy learning to fit in, and a full social schedule! I love it all, I’m blessed to have it all, and I am having a blast. Afternoon free time is very limited but it is spent doing a full edit on the book. The story is still going strong and I am so pleased! It is coming together much better than I had hoped a few weeks ago! Have an awesome weekend everyone!

Quieter times
The seasonal job is still in full swing, more racks of beautiful flowers and shrubs drop daily and our feet and backs are killing us, but man does it look beautiful there! The new puppy is beginning to learn the routine and is just a goofy child right now, much to my delight. 2nd of 3 Easter celebration weekends with extended families this weekend but I might do a ‘stay in my pjs and write’ Sunday. Have an awesome weekend everyone!

Weekend are for fun!
My grandbabies are scattered about some close, some far away, but this, and the next two weekends are for fun with them to celebrate Easter with each group. Work, travel, and schedules make it impossible for everyone to be in the same place at the same time right now, so the novel is on hold until after Easter. Enjoy this beautiful weather y’all!

New puppy :)
Been a busy weekend. Adopted a young dog from a local rescue and she is sweet as can be. She was only at the rescue for a week and they were told she was housetrained but she is not. That isn’t a problem she is as sweet as can be. I worry that she was abused, she peed on the tile in the living room then looked up, ran under the chair and cowered. Poor baby, we don’t freak out about that here. Our older dogs are trying to encourage her to use the potty pads in the master bathroom (these are small dogs) but she just isn’t interested just yet. In time it will all work out. She is spunky and silly and so loveable. I believe she is going to be very happy here with us! My increasing hours at work over the next couple of months will no doubt be confusing for her, but she has two awesome older dogs to keep her company, a king bed and cable tv. Can’t beat that!

Oooh excitement!
Getting goosebumps again! 52,085 words now, working chapter 22 and loving it! I’m such a nerd! I get so excited to get one more chapter done. If I wasn’t so tired from work I would do a happy dance, but my body says NO! Slowly but surely going to get this book done!

Getting the ‘feel’ right
So frustrated! After a thorough soaking at work yesterday, (I work outdoors and we muddle through rain or shine) we were called off for today. Cool… or so I thought. I planned to continue the edit and then move on to the next chapter creation. My brain appears to have other plans. LOLO I am loving this novel so far, but the last few additions to the last two chapters have an odd ‘feel’ to them that I can’t seem to correct. It’s as if a different person wrote those sections, and I’m left scratching my head. What was I thinking there? After reworking the additions, I am still unhappy with them. Do you ever just absolutely hate something that seemed so cool at the time? That’s how I feel this morning. Maybe I will scrap some of the additions… what a waste of precious time! Time for a snack, good thing I stocked up on pickled okra, smoked Gouda cheese and lemonade… Have a great rest of the day everyone! Me and my brain are about to go ’round and ’round here today.

Lock in
Since the spring season work hours have kicked up, I’ve been too exhausted to do more than crawl in my chair and whine LOL I have this weekend off, and I plan to get my chores out of the way then settle into a weekend-long, self-imposed writing lock in. Getting antsy to get moving on the book and I’m hovering just under 50k now! Have an awesome weekend! :)
