I'm not addicted. Really, I'm not.

Crazy times at the Munder household this weekend. Crazy Times. And it's only Saturday? After a very-little-sleep-Thursday, Friday night's plan involved enjoying a peaceful dinner out, running over the weekend todo list, and contemplating a relaxing bit of time on the couch. The evil cell phone rang in the midst of dinner with the dreaded "CRISIS AT WORK".

Without boring y'all with too much detail, the CRISIS involved driving the hour and a half to the job at 8:00pm. Once there we all manner of catastrophes needed to be dealt with. Since the true culprit was a downed power line (unknown at the intial phone call) and the estimated repair was still hours away once the clock struck 11:00pm, we decided to make the hour and a half drive back to homestead and wait for the call that the power was back on.

Which came at about 3:40am. Yawn.

So, a foggy drive back. Much handling was done, and we returned home about 8:00am. A quick nap was definitely called for. Fast forward to noon today, a good six or seven hours past my regular caffeine injection and Oh.My.Sweet.Lord. I thought my head was going to fall off.

Naaah, I'm not addicted. Not me.

Note: The true purpose of this post is to test the sparkly new LJ post scheduling. Oh bless you LJ for this new option.

Apologies All! Looks my account has been accessed. Don't open that link!

Otherwise known as "don't open that link". Sorry, sorry. I always feel so frustrated when whatever happens goes after the contacts list.

Edited: Sorry, that's a link in an email with no subject or other commentary from me.

Another one of those cool things I might never have found without the Internet

Neato: Interfaith LGBTQ Toolkit - Resources to empower Michigan faith groups to strengthen their welcoming, advocacy and service on behalf of people who are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ)

WHO SHOULD USE THIS TOOLKIT? Religious leaders, people from LGBTQ communities, and organizational representatives will find this Toolkit useful. It provides a broad range of resources for faith groups who seek to become more inclusive and justice driven, for LGBTQ persons looking for resources, and for organizations interested in partnering with faith groups for social change.

Check it out - it's more than just a Michigan Resource http://www.uujustice.org/LGBTQ_Toolkit_Final_1-12.pdf

Today's thought:

We can't let chaos and injustice make us so blind with anger that we become part of the problem. - Elizabeth Benjamin

Sign Me Up! a/k/a Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse-the class they didn't offer when I was in college

How many times have you sat around with friends and family and discussed how you might react to your favorite televised catastrophe? The topic comes up a lot at the Munder household and I always decide I simply don't have as strong a desire to live as those folks on AMC's The Walking Dead or say, Ripley from the movie Alien. But how would you know for sure?

Welcome to Surviving the Coming Zombie Apocalypse — Catastrophes and Human Behavior an online summer class offering at MSU. The class lasts seven weeks and blends traditional coursework with online forums and its hallmark activity: a zombie apocalypse simulation.

"Though the topic is serious and worthy of academic study, the challenges presented in surviving a hypothetical zombie pandemic have real-world applications," Stutzky said. "After all, zombies make everything more interesting."

I wonder if I can audit the course?
