Excerpt from The One That Counts at Cryselle's Bookshelf

Another amazing image from Cryselle made me jump up and squeal "I have an excerpt for that!". Visit Cryselle's Bookshelf for an excerpt from my short story The One That Counts .

Summary: When Rob Gentner’s father dies, his partner David sees an opportunity to shed some light on a past Rob rarely talks about. Standing in front of the family-owned Laundromat that was a major part of his upbringing, Rob finally shares the story of the summer of his first year of college, the beginning of his self-acceptance and life as a gay man. Finally David can understand the circumstances that made Rob the man he loves today—and they both decide that while first times will always be remembered, the last times are the ones that count.

Looking for a LGBT Friendly Healthcare Provider in Your Area?

Earlier this week I posted a link to a directory search in Southeastern Michigan. Today I'm pleased to update with a much broader searchable directory from the Gay & Lesbian Medical Association Website.

Click here to search for primary care providers, specialists, therapists, dentists, and other health professionals in your city/country.

Free Kindle Reads! More Love in Unexpected Places

Lately I've been visiting several different sites that list Free (other than classic/out of copyright) Kindle Books available for that day or month, and I think I've found my new happy place.

Right now the winner is: http://www.ereaderiq.com/. Live outside the US? Don't worry, just use the drop-down box to choose your region.

The site scores very high for ease of use, ability to see covers, read blurbs, sort via filter, and click thru to Amazon for easy downloading. And if your favorite book isn't free just yet, you can set it up to be notified when the price drops.

Now, all I need to do is find the time to read.

Lazy is as Lazy does

A funny thing happened on my way to a comment ... I discovered I couldn't.

Comment that is. Not unless I setup an account with that blog platform. And it's happened more than once over the last month.

*is grumpy*

Is this a new development from the platform? A setting the blogger ticks? Somehow I remember there being more of a choice of platforms to login to leave a comment, even if anonymous posting was blocked.

It's a shame. Because I visit blogs on many different platforms and while sometimes a post makes me think "Oh, I should stop, say hi, and respond to this" the reality is if I have to setup an account with a platform I won't use and will to struggle to remember the next time I swing by, well, honestly, my comment wasn't that interesting.

Jeez. How lazy have I become?
