TIN SWIFT will be out in just *counts on fingers* twenty days! I am so excited to finally share this book with readers!

I am also excited for the TIN SWIFT blog tour. It is my first blog tour ever, and we are giving away cool free stuff! A few people have asked me for more details about the tour, so I’ve put this post together to (hopefully) answer all your questions. If I missed a question, feel free to ask me in comments!

Steampunk Airship Bookmarks

To celebrate TIN SWIFT coming out July 3, I’m going to do a twenty day, twenty blog tour starting June 19th. There will be plenty of goodies to win. We will be giving away copies of TIN SWIFT, cool magnets, and bookmarks!

Not just *any* bookmark. These will be signed by me. Heck, they are made by my own two hands!

I’m a relatively crafty person and enjoy making things. I wanted to make a bookmark that featured the Swift, the awesome little airship in TIN SWIFT.

I looked for days for airship char...

TIN SWIFT and the Curiously Delightful Blog Tour Extravaganza

A couple months ago, my publisher contacted me and asked if I wanted to do a blog tour to celebrate the release of TIN SWIFT (release date, July 3). Having never done a blog tour, I asked some writer friends what the pros and cons of a tour might be, then promptly told my publisher I’d love to do it!

In case you’ve never been a part of a blog tour, it’s basically a writer visiting several blogs, usually one a day, to do interviews, or guest posts, or just to chat with readers. Cool right? But...

Cover Reveal – Magic For A Price

After a sharp-eyed (and thoughtful) reader contacted me yesterday to say she had seen a cover for MAGIC FOR A PRICE posted on a blog (and wanted to know if she could share it), I checked with my editor to see if we had a final version. Indeed we do!

Here it is! Allie Beckstrom book #9, MAGIC FOR A PRICE

What do you think? I LOVE it. Once again the amazing artist Larry Rostant and Penguin’s art department have outdone themselves.

My suggestion for the mood of the cover was something along the lin...

Two Posts and a Forest of Ghost Trees

Hello there! Here are a couple places I’m posting today:

Over on Amazon UK Kindle Posts, I talk about MAGIC WITHOUT MERCY and how being directionally-challenged might actually be a *good* thing.

On the Deadline Dames, I talk about procrastination and writing.

Hmm….doesn’t seem like quite enough content for a blog, so I shall talk about the ghost forest my family and I visited on Sunday!

This is Neskowin Beach, Oregon, about an hour and a half drive from my front door. Back in 1998, an estimated 2...

Answer Day – 2

More great questions received on the blog!

Dawn Young asks:

1. I’ve been trying to teach myself to be better at developing characters. Do you have any tips? Tricks? Resources you could recommend? I enjoy self-teaching myself how to do things, if I can just locate the right resouce(s) to get started :)

This is one of those questions for which there are hundreds of answers because I think every writer approaches character development in different ways.

Just as no two novels write the same for me, no...
