My white whale – finishing Moby Dick

“Hast seen the White Whale?”

The above oft-repeated refrain by Captain Ahab is an apt metaphor for my obsessive desire to finally start and finish Herman Melville’s Moby Dick. I am at last happy to report that I have done so on my FOURTH ATTEMPT since high school, having never gotten past page 150 in my previous tries.
