VeeCon Recap: Day 1 – Welcome Party!
Hey VaynerNation. As many of you know, last month kicked off the inaugural VeeCon. I’m so, so grateful for every one of you that I met, talked to or snapped a selfie with during those few days, and I’m so excited to meet even more of you at VeeCon 2023.
That being said, if you missed it this time around, today’s blog is a special VeeCon recap to show you how it all went down. Enjoy this look into a brand new episode 603 of DailyVee – full episode at the end of this blog – where you’ll see sneak peeks of the welcome party, my first steps into the U.S. Bank Stadium and the real reason behind this unique event in my life.
I hope you enjoy!

Introducing Day One and the VaynerX Incubator, a School for Entrepreneurs
Hey everyone. I’m writing today’s blog post to bring attention to a partnership I really believe in. Introducing the VaynerX Incubator, a ten-week program in collaboration with Day One specifically designed to help those of you who are serious about becoming true entrepreneurs.
Most of you know how I felt about school…and particularly for entrepreneurs, I think it’s time we start having a real conversation about whether traditional systems of schooling actually work. That being said, while I hated school, I’m actually pro-education, and when I came across the startup Day One, I knew I wanted to partner.with them.
Day One is building a new kind of school for founders… one that’s virtual, community-driven and actually supports, guides and teaches aspiring entrepreneurs. They’ve designed an experience perfectly suited for folks who are exploring entrepreneurship, but who are maybe afraid or don’t know where to start. I decided to partner with Day One for the VaynerX Incubator program to leverage my DNA as a natural entrepreneur and give back to the next generation of operators.
I’ll be announcing something big with Day One in the next few weeks – a collaboration I’m very excited about – but for now, keep reading to learn more about the VaynerX Incubator, Day One, and their fellowship.
I hope it helps.
About Day OneI’m happy to introduce you guys to Day One because this startup is attacking a subject matter that’s very near and dear to my heart – entrepreneurship.

The world is evolving and that is going to require entrepreneurs, but more importantly, it requires real entrepreneurs. Unfortunately, with entrepreneurship becoming super popular and cool like it has in the last decade, I see way too many people making themselves unhappy trying to become CEOs and founders when they’re really not built for it. Thankfully, Day One is providing a framework to help people understand what entrepreneurship actually is and giving them the tools and resources they need to navigate successfully.
I announced my partnership with Day One as a mentor for their fellowship program back just under a month ago. Check out the video below to learn more:
What is the VaynerX Incubator? The VaynerX Incubator is a new, ten-week entrepreneurship accelerator partnership between VaynerX and Day One and run by the VX team. During the ten weeks, participants will spend time being mentored by me and my network of business operators and entrepreneurs, learning my approach to leadership and entrepreneurship.
You’ll embed with a variety of companies I’m involved in across personal investments, VaynerX and personal relationships, and you’ll take on projects from business leaders to put your learnings into action. Through the program you’ll collaborate on new concepts that my teams and I are incubating across Web3, consumer products, NFTs, the metaverse and more.
Are you interested in the upcoming VX Incubator? To be considered, you need to first be a Day One Fellow – more details on the fellowship below!
The Day One Fellowship ProgramDay One offers a fellowship program for entrepreneurs centered on learning, connecting, and making progress together. As a Fellow, you have access to a curated group of peers, live learning sprints taught by world-class faculty, connections to partners across venture capital, coaching from experienced founders, weekly events with the world’s top builders, and so much more.
The next Day One Fellowship Cohort launches on May 1 and applications are open now. To learn more and apply, please visit http://joindayone.com/ .
Stay tuned for more on The VaynerX Incubator and share this blog with a friend if you found it valuable!

How to Protect Yourself from NFT Scams
There are a lot of scams going on in the NFT space unfortunately – the most common one involving fake URLs.
It’s extremely concerning to me how many people are clicking fake URL websites, connecting their crypto wallet, not reading the terms, and unintentionally giving permission to scammers to steal their NFTs.
This is by far the biggest scam I see right now in the NFT space – fuck fake URLs! Check out this video for more on how to protect yourself:
In this article, we’ll talk about a few precautions and steps you can take to not get scammed – hope this helps.
Enter Team GaryVee:
In this article, we’ll talk about the common scams in the NFT space and how to protect yourself.
Scammers are becoming more and more deceptive as new people enter the NFT space. One of the biggest things you can do to protect yourself is triple checking the URL of any site that you’re trying to reach. You can minimize your risk of getting scammed by making sure the URLs you’re clicking on are legit.
Many scam sites are made to look identical to actual sites that you’re familiar with – but the URL will be slightly different:

Check for extra letters, different site extensions, or similar looking characters:

One example of this is a scam happening in the ad section of Google Search. When users search “VeeFriends” – for example – into the Google search bar, the ad placements at the top will sometimes link to fake websites.

Please note that these sites are paid ads, and they’re not real. The official VeeFriends website URL is veefriends.com.
Two ways someone can get scammed Revealing your secret phrase (also known as your seed phrase)Your secret phrase is a series of words that’s your way of accessing your wallet from any device. Make sure your secret phrase is written down on a piece of paper, and that you have more than one copy.
Most importantly. DON’T GIVE IT OUT TO ANYONE.
Connecting your crypto wallet & authorizing a malicious transactionBoth of these scams could occur on fake website URLs – where hackers may ask you to reveal your secret phrase or connect your wallet to their site.
These aren’t the ONLY scams that can occur, but these are the most common.
Where scams can take placeScammers most commonly work through fake DMs, fake profiles, fake tweets, fake emails, and on Discord. Sometimes, they might also hack verified Twitter accounts.
Scammers often use Discord DMs to try to lure victims to malicious sites.
1.
With Discord Nitro, scammers can choose any username – they can even impersonate Gary and send links to fake URLs.
Regardless of whether scammers hack Twitter accounts, or send you fake DMs, if you see a post that ever promises any exclusive minting opportunity through a link, please make sure to thoroughly verify it.
Examples of scams that happened in the past ApeCoin LaunchOne example is a scam that happened during the ApeCoin launch. Scammers hacked verified Twitter accounts during the launch, and those accounts (that had blue checkmarks and Bored Ape Yacht Club profile pictures),

Users that clicked the links got taken to a fake site, connected their wallet, and got scammed.
ApeCoin put out a link of the only official website.

Another well-known scam offered to animate your NFT. These scammers also hacked verified Twitter accounts that also directed users to a malicious link pretending to animate their NFTs – once again, users got tricked into connecting their wallets, and got scammed.
RecapUltimately, the sure-fire way to not get scammed is to make sure you’re on the right URL.
There are 3 ways to do that:
Type out the right URL yourself. Click the URL in bio of a project’s verified Twitter profile,Verify the origin URL of the transaction. If you found this article helpful, please share it on Twitter!

LinkedIn Audio Events Quick Guide
Hey everyone. For those of you who missed it, I recently hosted a live LinkedIn AMA – Ask Me Anything – for 15 minutes to test the new LinkedIn Audio Events feature and answer some questions.
Let me just say that I’ve done this for a long time. This is what I do for a living – getting into the dirt with new social media platforms and features. It’s what I did with Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok and more. That being said, with only a few seconds into my first LinkedIn Audio Event, I could confidently say it’s a good product already… and it’s still very early.
Many of you know that I’ve been a big advocate of audio for a long time now. Check out this blog I wrote five years ago on The Rise of Audio & Voice. Then when Clubhouse first came out in 2020, I said to everybody, this is going to be like Snapchat Stories… It’s a feature that every platform should do because audio is clearly something people want. It’s a time saver that allows you to consume content while still living your life. So the Audio Events feature is a smart move from LinkedIn. By the way, you should learn more about my show on Twitter Spaces, DNA with GaryVee featuring emerging artists.
To put it into perspective, just in my 15-minute LinkedIn AMA alone, there were 500 people who joined in the middle of the day without me even promoting it much. The power of voice and audio aside, there are still questions that you have as a first-time user of anything. For audio features like this one, you might ask: How do I call people up onto the stage? How do I follow or share? My hot take on LinkedIn’s new Audio Events is that I like it; it’s intuitive and easy to figure out. I think LinkedIn is gonna find this successful and the quality of the conversations is gonna matter.
I’ll keep using the feature and testing it out with my LinkedIn community in the coming weeks, but that’s about all I can after my first use. Now, I’ll pass it off to my team to break down the specifics.
I hope this helps.
Team GaryVee
, here
LinkedIn has changed a lot since it launched in 2003. It originally started as a job searching platform where people were recruited for jobs, but today, people are using the platform to put out and consume content. In fact, Gary calls it “The Business Facebook” because of its high organic reach, similar to Facebook in 2012.
Recently, LinkedIn introduced a new feature called “LinkedIn Audio Events” where people can host audio-only virtual events and interact with their audiences live. Users can:
Host live Q&A/AMAsInterview expertsCreate a virtual gathering space to discuss new launches, ask for feedback about products, and have a conversation with the audienceLast Monday, March 28th, Gary tested out the feature for the very first time! Here’s some of what the team learned in the process:
How To Use LinkedIn Audio EventsCurrently, LinkedIn Audio Events are in the beta testing stage and the feature is available to a group of creators to test and share their early feedback. For now, LinkedIn users don’t have the ability to host their own events, but they’re able to participate by joining the audio events hosted by their favorite creators.
Setting up a LinkedIn Audio EventSetting up a LinkedIn Audio Event is similar to setting up any type of event on LinkedIn.
Go to the “Create an event” page

4. Post!

The audio event will then be posted as a regular event on LinkedIn where people can RSVP and add to their calendars. Once scheduled, here’s an example of how an audio event will appear in the LinkedIn feed:
At the scheduled time, there will be a “Join” button in the event where you can join. First, you will be in a testing room where you will see a “Go live” button. Once you go live, people will also be able to join the event.
During the event, you will be able to get people on stage only when they “raise their hands” to interact with you or ask you a question.

You will be able to see the list of people who raised their hands by clicking on the notification under the event name. Then, you can allow them to join you on stage!

You can then move them back into the audience by tapping on their profile on the stage.
Recording the eventAt this stage, LinkedIn doesn’t provide the ability to record the event. BUT, if you have a second phone or a camera, it would be a good idea to have a video of yourself talking and answering the questions, or you can just record the audio and post-produce it with some graphics, cartoons, etc. This will give you the ability to repurpose your event content and provide value to more people by sharing it across social media platforms!
Here are some examples of the content we were able to produce for Gary using recordings of his audio event:

Here are a few tips to make sure that your LinkedIn Audio Event is successful:
Plan & schedule the event at least 2-3 days in advance to make sure that your audience knows about it.Provide some information in the event description section so people know what to expect from the event (like topics or special guests) and can get ready with their questions.
We really hope you enjoyed this article and that you now have at least a baseline understanding of LinkedIn Audio Events and how they work! We’d love to hear your thoughts on Twitter! Tag us @teamgaryvee or Gary at @garyvee !
Don’t forget to stay tuned for more LinkedIn Audio Events from Gary coming soon!

Here’s Where UNHAPPINESS Begins: A Gary Vaynerchuk Original Film
Today I’m bringing you my latest original short film all about accountability. Introducing, Here’s Where UNHAPPINESS Begins…
We need to start putting accountability on a pedestal. I think that if you take responsibility for everything (without beating yourself up, of course), then you are also the person with the power to change things around.
When you hold yourself accountable, it leads to solutions; it helps you maintain a position of control instead of being a victim. So many of you reading this right now — in this exact second — are unhappy because you’re pointing fingers instead of thumbs and feeling a lack of control.
The lack of accountability leads to so much worse. If we can prop up accountability instead of shying away from it, we will be happier.
I hope you watch and enjoy. Watch it twice to let it really sink in

What NFTs Does GaryVee Own? Here’s How to Find Out
Today’s blog is my personal PSA. If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen me tweeting lately about what has become a major vulnerability in the NFT space: people aidropping NFTs into my account and other people’s accounts and then running ads saying we own them to convince other people to mint. It sucks, it’s tricking people, and it’s just not kind.
That being said, I’m writing this blog for a few reasons. One, to end the confusion on what I’ve actually bought vs BS that scammers airdrop me and then try to use my name to trick others. Two, to remind you that buying a project just because I or anybody else bought it is 100% always a bad idea.
Getting very frustrated with so many projects trying to trick people into buying their bullshit rug project by airdropping nfts into accounts and then claiming that those people own them. I’m asking nicely, pls don’t do that. Tricking people is such a sad trait
— Gary Vaynerchuk (@garyvee) February 12, 2022pic.twitter.com/ewJK6jkOk2
NFT P.S.A … fake ads .. don’t buy what others buy … pic.twitter.com/5yfS631aYX
— Gary Vaynerchuk (@garyvee) February 16, 2022
I’m aware that the scammers won’t listen to me, but what I hope is that this reminds all of you reading this right now to do your own homework on NFTs. The more educated you are, the less likely you are to be naive and fall for this trap. As always, remember to always buy on your own conviction, never invest more than you can afford to go to zero, and please understand that a majority of projects out there will fail in the macro.
I hope this helps.
Unless you hear me talk about it, don’t assume I bought itUnfortunately, the amount of people that are airdropping NFTs into my account and then running fake ads saying that I “own” them – and thus you should mint them – is at an all-time high. This is just the latest in a variety of scams either impersonating me with fake usernames, or using my actual name to try to steal or convince people to invest in garbage. For more details on these types of scams and how to look out for them, read this article.
Fake adsHere’s an example of an ad using my name to get others to mint NFTs:

Let there be no confusion. This is simply a BS tactic, but can be convincing to many who aren’t aware. From now on, unless you explicitly hear me talk about supporting a specific project, don’t assume that I bought it. Even better… don’t make your personal NFT investment decisions based on which projects I choose to support – but more on that later.
For now, let’s go over how you can actually know for sure which projects I – or anyone else – have bought.
What NFTs do I Actually Own?Again, none of this information is to be used as investment advice. There are a lot of different factors that go into what projects I support, from me just liking the artwork to generally believing in a project or that project’s creator. Also, remember that you should never put in more than you can afford to lose, and that amount is different for different people.
My only purpose in sharing this information is to clear up any misconceptions. Just because something was airdropped to me, does not mean that I bought it or that I support or even know of the project.
Fortunately, thanks to Web3 and the transparency of the blockchain, everything is there for anyone to see in perpetuity. This means you can actually look up a record of exactly which NFTs I’ve purchased. Here’s how.
Search “Gennady” or “GaryVee” on OpenSeaGo to opensea.io and search “Gennady” or “GaryVee” under accounts. These are my two wallets where anyone can go and look up my NFT collection. Both will have a blue verified checkmark next to the account name.

If you click on the “Activity” tab, you will see a record of all my wallet transactions and when they happened. Notice the frequency of NFTs being sent to my wallet. Most of these are random airdrops.

Now, click the “Sales” button on the left hand side of the screen. This will take you to the record of NFT purchases I have made myself.

Alternatively, I may sometimes share projects and creators I’m supporting or interested in on social media, like in this tweet where I featured a guest on my Twitter Spaces show, DNA with GaryVee.
here is what i have collected of @mumbot .. https://t.co/sk8FhN0GB1 she is on now with me on twitter spaces ..on my show called DNA (Discover New Artists )

There you have it. Unless you heard about it directly from me or saw a public sale record on OpenSea, please don’t assume my support for specific projects.
More importantly…
Don’t buy what others buyThe other really important lesson here is that you should never buy an NFT – or make any type of investment – just because someone else does. I make plenty of “wrong calls” with NFTs, and so do many other people with big portfolios. There is always risk involved with investing, so it’s always important to make moves on your own convictions.
i beg people to know these things

#1 98-99% are gonna get crushed
#2 dont buy what i buy i am playing long, post “winter”
#3 dont spend what u cant afford to lose and go to 0, i say it DAILY!
Also keep in mind that a large amount of action right now is based on “day trading NFTs,” or people wanting to make a quick bag. This is why I never want people to buy what I buy… I am only making decisions on 5 to 15 year windows, which is very different and could hurt a day trader if they buy what I buy.
TakeawayAt the end of the day, spaces that bring lots of opportunity unfortunately also bring lots of people with bad intentions. Always do your homework, beware of scammers, and stay smart.

Twelve and a Half: A Taste of the Ingredients
Modern society’s definition of a “smart business decision” is disproportionately predicated on analytics. Business leaders tend to find safety in the “black-and-white.” They find safety in the academics, math, hard data, and what looks good on spreadsheets…
Unfortunately, the bias toward short-term metrics can also make emotional intelligence a “nice to have” rather than a requirement. It creates a scenario in which a leader looks the other way when one employee makes everyone else in the office miserable, just because that employee happens to be bringing in the most revenue. It makes people think negative behavior and poor EQ (emotional quotient) are just side effects of being “good at business.”
I wrote Twelve and a Half to help change that.
The twelve and a half ingredients I describe in this book are some of the traits that have led to my success and happiness over the years, in addition to others that I’ve observed and admired: gratitude, self-awareness, accountability, optimism, empathy, kindness, tenacity, curiosity, patience, conviction, humility, ambition, and kind candor. The black-and-white is still wildly important, but in my opinion, it’s a distant second to mastering soft skills.
In part two of the book, you’ll see me combine these twelve ingredients into complete “meals” and show you how they can be used together when you face different challenges in business. Since we’re kicking off the new year, I created the deck below with the help of my team to give you just a little taste of what to expect from my sixth and best book yet.
You’re about to have the best year of your life! I hope this deck helps

9 Reminders to take into 2022
In today’s blog, you’ll find some of the quotes that resonated most with my community across social in 2021 – hope these “hit” for you as we head into the new year!

That toxic parent. That toxic significant other. That toxic friend(s). That toxic content on main media. That toxic content on social media…Get your mind right! Start listening to practical, optimistic, solution-oriented, accountable content that makes you feel in control.
Life is how you see it. That starts with how you hear it

Simplify your life. We get caught up in worrying about dumb shit … please don’t. There’s so much to be happy for, especially the health of your loved ones.

You haven’t not “made it,” you’re just early in your journey. It takes years – YEARS. Too many want it in days or get discouraged when they slow down or are stuck. Make content you want to make – that you value – the rest can fall into place over time.

You don’t have to cut people out of your life, but you should consider limiting your time with people who are bringing you down and also reply with compassion to the hurt they are feeling (which is likely leading to them bringing so much negativity and cynicism to every conversation).

I was also 32 when I made my first business content and really not until 34, 35, 37 did I really talk about business. People are out here worried they aren’t growing or are losing followers or are behind…or they look at the influencer who is 4 years younger than them but has a million followers …
These are all distractions. Don’t worry about anyone else…All of you are ahead of me
Patience and execution and practice and time … you’ve got way more time than your insecurities tell you.

As long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else. So many are scared to do what they actually want to do because they are worried about the ridicule from others … THAT FUCKS ME UP. Fuck them, LIVE YOUR LIFE.
Practicality in life matters, but often people don’t realize they are living in fear and defense and no culture. Life is longer than you think – try to mix up your behavior if you feel unhappy and change the patterns.

IT’S OVER! Stop dwelling on some shit that happened in 2018, 2012, 2019 or fucking 1999 …. Yesterday is over – learn from it but please stop bringing up how you got wronged or fucked.
It’s ruining tomorrow.

Had to go to the streets to really get the message across to the people. People talk about choosing money over happiness and mental peace, but It’s a silly, naive convo and it needs to stop. Money is great and all, but when you focus on peace of mind and happiness, so much good shit happens.
Please think more and more about happiness and reply self awareness to what makes you happy and what are you good at and try to bring them together!
