Busy busy beat

Life is getting the better of me right now. Between work, website and baby I’m a little stretched. Nothing that a few good nights of sleep and a day of can’t fix. And maybe that might even happen. But for now, I’m just going to stay quiet, read a few comics and try to get… More Busy busy beat

Strike One!

I didn’t post yesterday. It was the first day I’ve missed since early January when I decided to go daily. Admittedly some of the posts have been short and on a few occasions of sickness they could al oat be described as non-posts. But they were still new content. Yesterday there was none. And the… More Strike One!

Pathfinder Character Sketch

Playing a new character in a Pathfinder campaign on Sunday. Trying to get inside her head. When darkness swept over the land many saw the tribes of Orcs simply as the foot soldiers of darkness. They were the marauders and berserkers that ruled the plains. What few understood is the the tribes of Orcs were… More Pathfinder Character Sketch

Grumpy Bird Review: Captain America – Steve Rogers #01

Before reading this comic the internet did what the internet did and so the ending was already spoiled. Which doesn’t make for the best reading experience. But I still went ahead and read it because I love myself some Steve Rogers. Captain America – Steve Rogers #01 writer: Nick Spencer artist: Jesus Saiz Marvel Quick… More Grumpy Bird Review: Captain America – Steve Rogers #01

Grumpy Bird Reviews: Deadpool

This review is either pretty late or still early depending on where you live. If you are in the US or most other countries Deadpool came out months ago. If you live in Japan, like I do, it still isn’t out in theaters. It was actually quicker to wait for it to be released on… More Grumpy Bird Reviews: Deadpool

Cap and Bucky

I loved Captain America: Civil War. I dont think it is the best Marvel movie, as that title belongs to Winter Soldier, but it is certainly in the Top 5. Heck, those movies borrow a lot from some of the best Captain America story (those written by Brubaker with art mostly by Epting and Perkins).… More Cap and Bucky

Living the Dream (for a day or two)

I’ve talked in the past about my current real life job, teaching at a private elementary school. Hopefully I have made it very clear that I greatly enjoy this job and the people (staff and students) that come along with this. I genuinely like it. I want to make that clear. Because every now and… More Living the Dream (for a day or two)

Simply Write

The dark side, or obvious side perhaps, of self-publishing is that you have to do every thing yourself. The editing, the marketing, the networking, building an audience, all of it. There are so many jobs on the periphery of writing that can be overwhelming. It isn’t just getting the book into the hands of potential… More Simply Write
