Not a Review: Peacemaker

The other day I finally got around to watching The Suicide Squad and really enjoyed it. I figured as good as it was I might as well check out Peacemaker. Here we are, three episodes in and it is getting a strong thumbs up. I love how it straddles that line by being somehow irreverent … More Not a Review: Peacemaker

“Who Pays For the Kids”

Once upon a time, what feels like a lifetime ago, I was working towards my masters degree. To make sense of what I was researching I read a lot. A lot a lot. Including lots on power and gender. It’s funny what sticks with you. I had to look up Nancy Folbre, but I remember … More “Who Pays For the Kids”

Still Editing

The other day I was editing and rewriting some stuff I’d written about a year ago. I realized something very important. If I stumbled on my books at random, I would really enjoy them. I’m not seeing I’m a great writer. Just implying it. But, seriously, so much of editing is just seeking out the … More Still Editing

2022 Week 3 Wrap Up

This has been an odd week. Work has both been getting busier, but COVID is once again on the rise and we are also having to prepare for the possibility of moving online. It’s like getting an extra dollop of work icing on top of work cake. Creatively things are going okay. Still editing and … More 2022 Week 3 Wrap Up

The 21st…

A long while ago I decided that once a month I would hit up loyal readers for cash. I could say support, but lets be real. I mean cash. I also decided that the day I would stretch out my hand would be the 21st. Why? Because that is my birthday. Not today, in June. … More The 21st…

‘A Song in Darkness’ Excerpt w/ Lucas and Bramble

In my upcoming novel one of the themes is family and fatherhood. I wanted a scene where young Bramble hears a joke from the potential father figure, Lucas. I figured what better way than to steal a joke I’ve heard from my own dad countless of times. I hope you enjoy it. “Well, you know. … More ‘A Song in Darkness’ Excerpt w/ Lucas and Bramble

A Writing Desire

I want to write of heroes and villains. Gods and magic. I want to spin stories of iron friendships and broken trusts, I want readers to laugh and feel horrified. To cry tears of multiple shades. I want to write you a new companion and a new enemy. I want to surprise myself with a … More A Writing Desire

Grumpy Bird Review: Spider-Man: No Way Home

For the first time since Endgame I made my way back to a movie theater and all for Peter Parker. Yes, I know NWH has been out for a while, but I do live in Japan, and it only came out here recently. So, the big question is: Was Spider-Man’s third solo movie worth the … More Grumpy Bird Review: Spider-Man: No Way Home

The problem with drinking…

…is that when you are 40 and you go with a fried to enjoy birthday drinks the rest of the day gets impossible. Seriously. It was three drinks over several hours and the world is shimmering. Tomorrow will be fun.
