Um… I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but…
We had a biiiiiiiiiiiig weekend.

We had a biiiiiiiiiiiig weekend.
I’ve mentioned before that Boone’s band, The Infinity Project, has a weekly gig. And to be clear, all the members met at the boys’ music school and became the school’s house band. So, for legal reasons, when it’s a school function, they’re the “house band.” When it’s a gig they booked themselves, they’re “The Infinity Project.”
Well, his band’s front-man Preston started writing a song with Wyatt and the guy who books the club immediately offered them a gig. That was two weeks ago. Boone said he’d fill in on bass or guitar, so the trio spent those two weeks practicing over and over and they put together a modest set of ‘90s pop-punk songs. The as yet unnamed trio debuted right after The Infinity Project set on Saturday afternoon. Wyatt even sang backup vocals for the first time. (The 2nd photo is Wyatt practicing and the 3rd is of the trio gig.)
Then, on Sunday, the boys’ music school had their end-of-season show at a club in L.A. called The Goldfish. During that show, the house band played a set of rock and hard rock songs spanning a few decades — ZZ Top! Tool! Rush! Rage Against The Machine! — and brought the fucking house down.
It’s great that they’ve had weekly gigs for the entire summer. It’s really helped them hone their performance.
Anyway, we’re all exhausted and need a couple of days to recover. Not a bad way to end the summer, though.

I’ve had this Strat since the mid-‘90s.

I’ve had this Strat since the mid-‘90s.
I opened it up the other day to swap out the pickguard, realized I got the wrong kind (I accidentally got an 11-hole one, my Strat is an 8-hole), and took it as a sign from the universe to leave it the way it was.
Nice to have the old axe back in working order.

I hope Republicans don’t find out we used all that baby blood we collected at the pizza place to fuel our Jewish space lasers solely to create a storm that would solve liberal California’s drought in one day… Maybe naming it Hilary was a bit too on the nose.

Thanks for the reminder, I had long forgotten about this. God I feel old. People of my generation, enjoy this rather … interesting … memory.
