To Free of not To Free…that is the question??

Back to Business

Not really…I have a few days before I am diving into my last book with my editors report. But I have been thinking about exposure and short of streaking down my high street naked with my books taped to my bits I am wondering whats best. I have a few followers on twitter and even less on Facebook which is fine. I really haven’t been at it very long but I don’t want to just keep block dumping information about my books to people that pretty much know about them anyway.

So what is a good balance? I need more people to read the first book for sure and with so much competition, free competition at that I feel inevitably drawn to this option. Thousands of people download free books all the time, some only download free book especially when it is a new author. I have tried a few freebies myself (I read A LOT), generally haven’t been impressed and prefer to pay. I have had some real hits with buying 99p/99c ebooks and I just wonder whether I put the freebies further down my tbr because they hold less value to me. So is cheep better than free or is free the only way to get the numbers and get on Amazons hot algorithm chart? Because lets face it thats where I need to be.

Just Testing…Oh and I have a sale :)

I am not going to lie…I am more than a little technically challenged but I had managed to link this site to my Facebook and Twitter…unfortunately every time I posted something to Facebook instead of my book cover image the only image that appeared was my big and I mean HUGE head….urghhh. So I would have to quickly delete that post and re do something less horrific. Anyhow…I think I have sorted so in part this post is a test.

But its also to announce tow things !. Sale of Never a Choice is on NOW and 2. Always a Choice is released on Friday.

Told you I hate waiting…

Please don’t think I wrote an entire trilogy  in three months …I really didn’t but I did make sure they were all written  before I started the editing, proof reading and formatting so they could be released REALLY close together.

I don’t know if this is the right thing to do, especially  as not everyone reads the same pace I do (I devour books 3/4 a week).  So this could well be an overload situation  but in the end I took the decision  because I hate waiting for the next in  a series.

Now you don’t have to either …book 2 Always a Choice is now available to pre order so go one click crazy  and enjoy :)

A Sea of Social Media

After a little flurry with the release of Never A Choice I am now floating in the vast sea of social media with a reach that could easily fit everyone around my dining room table. So I have started in earnest with trying to increase my Twitter followers but my author page is proving a little troublesome. I know I will be able to entice new readers with the launch of my second book, well at least I hope I will. I will be able to put out a nice promotion and some giveaways. `

I have a few Bloggers lined up to help with promotion and a Blog tour and I am grateful for some amazing reviews. These are the life blood for an unknown like me but I feel this is a slowly slowly catchy monkey. Watch out monkeys.

Well that was fun ☺

So Never a Choice went live on the 20th and I did an online release party which was hosted by Missys book blog and I was lucky to be joined but some really talented authors and other kind folk to share my day. I am unbelievably grateful to everyone involved  especially Missy who was the very first blogger to review my book.

I have had some amazing reviews and even the 4 star was pretty good.  I’m not naive to imagine it will always be like this but I’m super happy it’s started like this

Never a Choice

Dee contacted me through my blog asking if I would read her book. She had sent me the description of the book, and I was hooked!! I waited for almost a month and a half for this book, and it was the longest wait ever! But so worth the wait.

So at first the book comes out a little slow, it is to set up the story line. But once the two main characters meet for the first time, from that point I was hooked!!  I had really lost the words to write this review, it was that good. She is a first time author and you can’t tell.

This is a story about Bethany who has lost her mom to alzheimer, and her sister took everything else from her. So Bethany works hard to support her mother in a home, and go to…

Don’t Panic!!

It’s too late for that. So I had a great week last week with two amazing reviews but I have since learned how many typos are ‘quite a few’.  200 in case you wondered. I mentioned the copy edit situation in a previous post but I have  a release date fixed and I just felt sick that this was still an issue despite my efforts. I had a message from the loveliest Kitty French who told me about Text read on mac, which I have done all weekend and I’ve got a friend that has stepped in last minute to give it the once over. I hope to have it back mid week because it now needs re formatting again and re uploading before the release.

Now I know this I can make sure I don’t repeat the same mistake with book 2 but its soo frustrating. Having said that I nearly pee’d my pants listening to the filthy bits in a robot voice !! #stillalittlestressed
