First On-line Magazine Piece

A little bit excited to see my first feature in a on-line magazine. RedHot Romance kindly did a spread and there is a sexy little excerpt where you get a taste of Mr Stone…as it were… Thank you Samantha Leo

FREE SHORT STORY

So this is a short story I am submitting to some magazines…and although I know some authors put out short stories to buy...I just can't. I am working on a novelette with Sam and Jason (secondary characters in The Choices Trilogy) which could very well turn into something longer still but this submission had a word count limit of 1500 which is tough for me…because it would seem I’m like a word volcano when I’m on a roll.

Anyway hope you like
Its easy click to subscribe (promise I won't spam), get password and enjoy :)

There are also bonus chapters there too.

Intervention (another one) oops

It was an ‘own it’ moment this morning with hubby…I spend waaaay too much time fannying about on social media sites. I do it under the guise of marketing…possibly research considering some of the secret groups I have joined but honestly I just get sucked in. I have decided to have a little clean, nothing drastic…and I know this is narcissistic but I’m going to maybe focus on the groups, blogs, people that do ‘get me’ instead of flogging that dead horse with those that don’t …plenty more fish so to speak.

All that being said I am going to try and just write more. So if you see me on FB, Pinterest, for more than lets say one hour…I can’t go cold turkey…A gentle reminder of this post would be great, thanks.

My time is much better spent writing words that make you…

Sorry for the Confusion

I finished Ethan’s Fall yesterday…which as any author will tell you is just the start. The first step is that it is winging its way to my lovely Betas; Melinda, Heather, Lauren, Missey and Kayla. So now I wait patiently in the corner rocking…or I make a start on the novella I started a while ago before Ethan butted his head in and said ‘me first, me first’.

So the confusion is that yesterday I posted the cover for the novella of Bethany and Daniel which slots in between book1 & 2, which was silly and I’m going to do it again here. This is a novella and has to be read with the others. Ethan’s Fall is a character spin off and full length novel. Hopefully it can be read on its own, as a stand alone but that’s what the Beta’s will let me know I’m sure.

So, sorry to confuse but can’t sit around thumb twiddling…Idle hands…

Only Good Things…

So got this amazing review which was….amazing.

Screen Shot 2015-07-29 at 12.29.01

On another thing though…as a new author I set out to try and find bloggers and reviewers that I though would likely take to my book. I didn’t send it out to hundreds and checked for a while the type of books they liked and one thing I learned from this is…no-one ever reads the same book.

And I’m cool with that because above the initial contact which was purely about my book I have ‘met’ some extraordinary people in the book world, positive, encouraging and kind. So I am grateful for the bloggers that take the time, even if in the end it isn’t there cuppa. If everyone liked exactly the same thing there would be only magnolia…and we’d miss the rainbow :)

Surreal but Sweet

It shouldn’t come as a shock because I have mentioned it before but my kids (and they are all adults so I’m beyond corrupting their innocent minds…that ship sailed with the internet.) are horrified I write what I write and I understand, mostly…I’m their mum and mum’s just don’t do that sort of thing…like ever!

Anyway my eldest knocked for six last week when she told me she told her hairdresser that her mum was an author…I mean, she left me a little speechless because I don’t even say that because right now I write when I’m not working, cleaning, cooking, washing, still being a taxi and reading. Lucky I don’t watch TV or I would never sleep and don’t get me started on the hours I put in to research…ahem thank you JD and the girls at “Men have porn…Women have James Deen”.

My point, she could’ve said my day job title but she didn’t. So maybe horrified but maybe a little proud too??

Copy editing problem #1 through forever

You see this little cut and paste below…this is why I can’t copy edit. I know no one should edit their own work and I have a fab editor but a tiny budget so the proofreading I did and re-did myself, a friend helped here and there and I listened to the books too (hysterical sex scenes in a monotone robot voice…complete mood killer btw), Sadly, as most will know by now I didn’t get all the damn errors.

And now I have had over 7000 books downloaded its being flagged (and rightly) so I’m gathering pennies and hoping to get them sorted soon. In the mean time I am sorry and I really did try and get them all but this looks fine to me!!!

Arocdnicg to rsceearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer are in the rghit pcale. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit pobelrm. Tihs is buseace the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

Can’t Wait to Share…

I should wait to the end of this last day of free promo but I’m too too excited…I’ve had over 4000 downloads and Never a Choice is now #1 Best Seller in kindle Romance Erotica. Now I don’t understand how a free book gets a best seller ranking but right now I don’t care because whoop whoop…over 4000 people have my baby….Shit I hope they enjoy!Screen Shot 2015-07-15 at 00.01.42

To be continued. …

Let’s talk about series…love them or hate them? Honestly  I love them and I’ll tell you why…when I fall in love with a story I fall hard and never ever want it to end. So for me the longer the better and God bless Tiffany Reisz  for giving us The Original  Sinners series …8 epic stories.

Having said that I do have a tiny weeny problem.

I may have mentioned I’m an impatient  reader and hate waiting but sometimes it is what it is …buuuut  what I hate is when it is clear (2 years and counting) that the author has no intention of finishing the story. They have moved on to other stories…perhaps more lucrative,  perhaps easier…I have no idea. What I do know is I’m left hanging and I’m not a fan of hanging.

I’ve written a trilogy …as you may know ;) …I released each book just a month apart in a deliberate  strategy  to not keep anyone waiting. I think maybe the average reader reads a book every few weeks….I know crazy right! (5 a week for me), so a month apart I felt was an ok wait.

I do understand it’s not easy…oh its great putting in all the teasers and twists but at some point you have to wrap them up in a devastating brilliant end…neat, tidy and completely  satisfying or maybe you don’t?

NO! Of course you do because I’m still hanging. ..the road is bumpy I know..

.it is not easy and it is a grind but come on… we all like a little bump and grind. Xdee

“Don’t you…Forget about me…Don’t don’t you…forget about me”

Had a little pep talk with hubby and I know he is right… my FB activity doesn’t translate to sales but I like it and don’t get me started on time wasted on Pinterest…having said that I am back to writing today so will only be popping in from time to time. I have two very different stories I want out of my head and a sneaky novella with Daniel and Bethany but they don’t write themselves…but as Simple Minds put it so poignantly “Don’t you…forget about me” xdee
