How to kick off a great summer in the Hamptons:
Snag a gorgeous rental on the beach. Check.
Get a job at a trendy summer haunt. Check.
How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons:
Fall for the one guy with a dark leather jacket, scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the tony looking crowd. A guy you can’t have when you’ll be leaving at the end of the season.
Check. Check. Check.
I should add—especially when the guy is your sexy, tattooed God of a boss.
Especially when he not only owns your place of employment but inherited half of the town.
Especially when he’s mean to you.
Or so I thought.
Until one night when he demanded I get in his car so he could drive me home because he didn’t want me walking in the dark.
That was sort of how it all started with Rush.
And then little by little, some of the walls of this hardass man started to come down.I never expected that the two of us, seemingly opposites from the outside, would grow so close.
I wasn't supposed to fall for the rebel heir, especially when he made it clear he didn’t want to cross the line with me.
As the temperature turned cooler, the nights became hotter. My summer became a lot more interesting—and complicated.
All good things must come to an end, right?
Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.
Rebel Heir is the first book in the Rush Series Duet. Book Two, Rebel Heart, will release six weeks later on May, 22, 2018.

“All done.” I found Gia in the yard sunbathing. Of course, she had to be lying on her stomach so I could get a closer look at her ass. It was fucking phenomenal. Like a chubby, upside-down heart from where I stood. I’d spent the last hour pretend fixing her car and picturing her riding me reverse cowgirl, those ass cheeks jiggling like fucking Jell-O while she rode me hard. I had to force my eyes to her face and clear my throat to continue. “Here are your keys. Your rotors were shot, too. In the future, don’t ride on bad brakes. It just turns a little problem into a big one.” She shielded her eyes from the sun and twisted her neck to look up at me, still not flipping over to her stomach. “Oh. Okay. Thanks. Can I make you some lunch? It’s the least I can do to repay you for hours of working on my car.” Is that ass on the menu? “No. I have to get going.” She lifted from flat on her stomach to on her knees in a yoga-like pose, taking her sweet ass time before turning over. “Are you sure?” She bit her bottom lip. “You’ve had to have worked up an appetite.” Is she fucking with me? I had an appetite alright. “I gotta run.” I sounded like a broken record, yet here I still stood. My head wanted to get the fuck out of that yard, but my traitorous feet wouldn’t move. Not even when she stood up, turned around and practically rubbed her ass against me as she held up suntan lotion. “Could you rub some sunscreen on my back before you go? I don’t want to burn.” No. “Sure.” “Thanks.” I took the sunscreen and squeezed a glob of creamy white lotion into the palm of my hand. Swallowing hard, I began to rub it into her back. Her shoulders were warm and soft with the tiniest little layer of fuzz on it. It reminded me of a peach. My mouth salivated at the thought of biting into her. “Could you do a little lower?” My breathing became labored and my cock swelled as I lowered my hands and rubbed into the middle of her back. I was breaching into dangerous territory. “Lower” she said. I knew from her breathy voice that I wasn’t the only one aroused. I lowered to just above her bathing suit bottom and rubbed lotion all over. When I finished, she turned her head so I could see the side of her face and closed her eyes to whisper, “lower.” Fuck me. I couldn’t stop myself. I reached for the creamy sunscreen and squeezed enough into my hand to cover a large person’s full body and then began to rub it into her ass cheeks. She had the most unique heart-shaped mole on her left side that was perfectly symmetrical. I ran my fingertips over it. When I trailed a pool of lotion to the top of her ass crack, and slowly rubbed it in tracing the material of her bathing suit in between her cheeks, she let out a low moan. More. Make more sounds like that.

Book Review: As She Fades by Abbi Glines

As She Fades by Abbi Glines
Blurb:From the #1 New York Times- and USA Today-bestselling author of the Rosemary Beach and The Vincent Boys series, Abbi Glines delivers another smoldering, compulsively readable YA romance with As She Fades.
On the night of her high school graduation, Vale McKinley and her boyfriend Crawford are in a terrible car accident that leaves Crawford in a coma. They were supposed to spend the summer planning for college, for a bright future full of possibility. Together. Instead, Vale spends long days in the hospital, hoping Crawford will awaken.
Slate Allen, a college friend of Vale’s brother, has been visiting his dying uncle at the same hospital. When he and Vale meet, she can’t deny the flutter of an illicit attraction. She tries to ignore her feelings, but she's not immune to Slate's charm. Slowly, they form a cautious friendship.
Then, Crawford wakes up . . . with no memory of Vale or their relationship. Heartbroken, Vale opts to leave for college and move on with her life. Except now, she’s in Slate’s territory, and their story is about to take a very strange turn.
Glines’ millions of fans will adore As She Fades, a novel as romantic as it is full of twists and unexpected turns.
My Review:As She Fades is like a rollercoaster. You're riding along smoothly and you think you have everything figured out and then the bottom drops out from under you, shattering everything you thought you knew. And to be honest, this might be my favorite Abbi Glines novel to date just for its' uniqueness. Plus, Slate is definitely my favorite of her male leads.
The story starts out simple enough, Vale and her boyfriend Crawford get into a major car accident on the night of their high school graduation which leaves Crawford in a coma and Vale sitting vigil in the hospital every day for five weeks. There she meets Slate Allen, a frat brother of her older brother Knox, who is there to spend time with his cancer-riddled uncle. Vale doesn't want to like Slate. She knows his type - the slick, charming, manwhore type and yet as she's shown a different side of him she begins to live again and realizes that her relationship with Crawford wasn't so perfect after all.
As Vale starts college and begins to bring normalcy and routine back into her life she's no longer able to deny her growing attraction to Slate. But Slate's not the relationship type and Vale still has Crawford to think about.
Just as Vale and Slate begin to give into their feelings WHAM, part two starts and turns the entire story inside out. Forget everything, it's like you're reading a completely new story that makes sense but at the same time doesn't; like an alternate reality.
Some may not like the way this book is plotted with the transition between parts one and two but I actually thought it was well written. The whole story is a departure from the author's other novels and I really loved it. While some of her other novels blend together with their similarity this one will stay with me, haunting me.
My only issue with this book was where in the blurb it says, "Then, Crawford wakes up . . . with no memory of Vale or their relationship. Heartbroken, Vale opts to leave for college and move on with her life." I kept waiting for that but without giving any spoilers away, that's not the way the book is plotted. I don't know if the blurb was written that way to be purposefully deceptive, but its' a little misleading. But either way, it doesn't really affect the beauty of the book inside.
Overall, I'm so glad I read this book and I definitely recommend it. The twists and turns were perfect and I couldn't wait to see how it ended, and the ending was satisfying.

(Audio)Book Review: Second Chance Boyfriend by Monica Murphy

Second Chance Boyfriend (One Week Girlfriend #2) by Monica Murphy Blurb:"Lost. Everything in my life can be summed up by that one sickening word. My football coach blames me for our season-ending losses. So does the rest of the team. I wasted two whole months drowning in my own despair, like a complete loser. And I lost my girlfriend - Fable Maguire, the only girl who ever mattered - because I was afraid that being with me would only hurt her.
"But now I realize that I'm the one who's truly lost without her. And even though she acts like she's moved on and everything's fine, I know she still thinks about me just as much as I think about her. I know her too well. She's so damn vulnerable, all I want to do is be there to help her . . . to hold her . . . to love her.
"I just need her to give me one more chance. We may be lost without each other, but together, we're destined to find a love that lasts forever."
My Review:It's been two months since Drew walked out of Fable's apartment leaving behind a note telling her he loved her. Two months since Fable found out Drew's deepest, darkest secret and stood by him anyway. He hasn't returned any of her calls or texts. But whatever, Fable is moving on. She lands a new job that pays better at a new bar and restaurant called The District and her boss believes she has potential to move forward. Then on the night of a private party at The District Drew Callahan walks back into Fable's life...
It's been two months since Drew left the woman he loves more than anything else in the world. Two months since his conniving pervert stepmother Adele made his world implode by dropping a bomb of a secret on him. He's miserable and he misses Fable so much. His therapist tells him he needs to get out more and experience life so he reluctantly accepts an invitation to one of his teammates' twenty-first birthday parties at a new bar. It'll be the best decision of his life...
Will Fable take Drew back? Will they realize they're stronger together and face their demons as a couple? Will Drew ever tell his father the truth about Adele? Will Adele ever leave Drew alone?
This book quickly grabbed me and I was as addicted to it as I was with the first book. Drew goes through significant character growth in Second Chance Boyfriend as he works on dealing with his past and accepting that it wasn't his fault. Fable is a strong, independent character that is dedicated to her brother and seems to have the world on her shoulders and I loved her inner struggle to allow herself to lean on Drew.
Adele is a truly devious character and I loved to hate her. She's the type of character who's ending I cheer for.
Overall, I loved this book, maybe even more so that the first book. As far as the audiobook goes, I liked the narrators, they really made me feel like I was experiencing the story.

#BookTag Saturday: The "I Dare You" Tag

It's moving day! Since I'm up to my elbows in boxes I'll make this brief. This week I'm doing the "I Dare You" Book Tag...

1. Dare you to jump backwards: Name a book you went into blindly and it let you down.  Beautiful cover, great prologue.. completely downhill from there.
2. One drink too many: Name a book that gave you a hangover.
3. Spin the bottle: Name a book with a terrible romance or romance scene. Zach and Adria's romance could have ended up so messy if the author hadn't made it possible at the end.
 4. Mooning: Name a book that was too descriptive.  Though I liked the descriptions of the world of Caraval, at times they bordered on purple prose.
5. Scream and Run: Name a book that wasn't descriptive enough or left you confused.
This book definitely left me confused. 6. Staring Contest: Name a book you thought was going to take forever but was over in the blink of an eye.  This book is 500-600 pages but I breezed through it about 200 pages at a time.
Side Effects-
7. Car crash: Name a book that started great but ended badly.  Again, this book had a killer prologue but after that I couldn't get into it.
8. Amnesia: Name a book that was forgettable or you forgot you read.  I know I liked this book but I can't honestly remember what happens in it or what the character's names are.
9. Broken Limb. Name a book that shattered you.

His hands still on my face. “I’m sorry,” I manage to say, trying to control a nervous need to giggle like a hyena. “Are we fighting? Maybe I didn’t notice because it’s all we ever seem to do.”
A wicked grin lights his features. “That’s not all we seem to do,” he whispers, seconds before he replaces his thumb with his lips.
It’s a soft kiss at first, tentative. Like someone asking your name. But it lights me up, sending fire shooting through my body, heat curling through my belly. I must sigh because Jared pulls back for just a moment, a question in his eyes and hunger written all over him. Then he claims my lips again, holding my face in his hands as the earth spins away from me.
