The seeds of the virtual workplace took significant shape as a temporary work from home necessity in the dark days that followed the events of 9-11. Over the past two decades we saw significant enhancements in personal and business communication through messaging systems and social media viewed through laptops, tablets and cell phones prompting greater acceptance of work from home practices.
