Guest Author Bethany Leigh
Today I'd like to welcome author Bethany Leigh to my blog!
Being the nosey type that I am, I've asked Bethany some questions about her books, which she was happy to answer:
Is Freedom your first book?
No, but it’s my first published book. Blushing Books accepted three of my titles at the same time, and published the most recently written one, Freedom, first.
What is Freedom about?
Freedom is set in an alternate Edwardian universe and centres on the campaign of Lady Margia and her Freedom for Women League to gain rights for women – including the right not to be spanked by their menfolk. It follows the adventures of three women – Lady Margia, Lady Isobelle and the maid Edie – as the campaign gathers momentum. They encounter romance on the trail as well as adventure and spankings.
A prequel, Betrothed, was released at the same time as Freedom. What is that about?
Betrothed is a short story set in Lady Margia’s world before the events of Freedom. The heroine, Lady Cassandra, attends one of Lady Margia’s rallies and incurs the wrath of her fiancé for doing so. It also introduces the concept of the bedding ceremony, which is one of the things Lady Margia is campaigning to abolish.
Betrothed is currently free on Blushing Books
How long have you been writing?
I have always written, but only started writing in this genre a few years ago. I entered an erotica short-story contest. My story didn’t win, but I submitted it to an online spanking romance magazine and it was accepted. I wrote several more short stories for that magazine and now have been fortunate enough to have my novellas accepted by Blushing Books.
What is your next book about and when will it be released?
At Dead of Night is a contemporary whodunit. The main character, Lucy, is a PI who comes back in contact with an ex-boyfriend while she’s investigating a new case. She still loves him but struggles with the fact he wants to spank her if she puts herself in danger. After all, danger is part of her job. It’ll be released on 7 January.
Excerpt: He joined them by the fire when Lady Drusilla had poured tea. "I understand your rally was broken up, Lady Margia," he said.
Lady Margia nodded. "Yes, but I'd almost finished my speech, so it didn't matter. As long as the message went out."
Sir Cormac reached for a scone. "That's all right for you to say, surely?"
Lady Margia sighed. "What do you mean?"
"Well, you're one of the few women at that rally who'll be sitting comfortably right now. I find your campaign very irresponsible, Lady Margia. You spare no thought for those women currently regretting their defiance, or for the men who really have better things to do than have to constantly police their womenfolk's behaviour and administer punishment."
"Then they should stick to those better things to do," said Lady Margia, "and let women make their own decisions about their own lives."

Excerpt: “It’s a cooling ointment,” Mama said. “I only use it to help with the sting from your father’s worst spankings. But it’s essential during the betrothal period, when you’ve been punished by two men. Put some on and you’ll start to feel better.”
She crossed over to the window to allow me some dignity while I applied the ointment. It felt refreshingly cool on my throbbing bottom and thighs. “Where did you get this from?” I asked.
“I have a supplier,” she told me. “A woman at the town market.”
“Can I meet her?”
“Maybe. In time. She has to be careful who she trusts. If the police knew she was selling ointment to ease the pain from a spanking, she’d been taken to the court.”
“Why have you never let me use this before?” I couldn’t believe the difference in soreness level already; I’d need to get some of this for when I was married.
“I told you – it’s for the very worst spankings,” she said. “It’s far too expensive to waste on a few light taps.”

~ : ~ The Don's Daughter by Renee Rose ~ : ~
Renee Rose is sharing Book 3 of The Bossman Series - The Don's Daughter. It is a 53k word novel in the Mafia D/s genre and the excerpt she's shared today is a spicy one!
Blurb:Giving control of her body to Carlo Romano, underboss to her father, was dangerous. More dangerous than her hair-brained idea to take off her clothes at a strip club as a form of sex therapy. But the temptation outweighed the risk. Carlo made her feel sexy, alive and appealing, feelings she’d scarcely known after two years with her cheating and demoralizing ex-boyfriend.
Carlo couldn’t believe Summer — the don’s daughter — was dancing half-naked on the stage of a strip club. Nor could he believe she suggested he’d be the one to take a belt to her ass and set her straight. But he’d had a thing for Summer since the day he moved in with her family, fresh off a plane from Sicily. He couldn’t walk away from the opportunity to get up-close and intimate, and show her his dominant side.
Still, Summer may not be ready for a new relationship, and even if she is, there was the not-so-small matter of what her parents would say — her father would probably want to kill Carlo if he found out he’d seen her naked...

Carlo had Summer naked across his lap on the sofa. He was fully clothed, the way he liked it for a power exchange scene. He hadn’t touched yet, but her pussy already glistened with dew simply from the act of baring herself for him. He stroked the curves of her muscular ass, down her long, shapely thighs. Fucking gorgeous. Drawing his hand back, he landed a smack on the lower portion of her right cheek. Her shoulders tensed, but she held still for him.Such a good girl. She’d gone soft and sweet on him from the moment he’d promised a punishment in the car, and brunch had consisted of moony looks from under her lashes and more attempts to get him to share his personal preferences for everything from nuts or no nuts in cookies (nuts, definitely) to favorite vacation locale (mountains, not beach). He smacked the other cheek, then rubbed the sting away. Warming her up slowly, he slapped and stroked until her bottom turned an enchanting shade of blush. Only then did he increase the intensity, spanking her harder and picking up the tempo. She clenched her butt muscles and made little gasping noises that made his already stiffened cock go rock hard. The gasps turned into grunts and little cries. He wasn’t giving her time to assimilate the pain, so it would quickly overwhelm her senses. Sure enough, her hand came flailing back, trying to cover. He caught her wrist and pinned it behind her back, continuing to beat a steady rhythm on her rapidly reddening behind. Summer looked back in alarm. “Carlo, I’m sorry!” “You were a naughty girl, tesoro mio, and now your bottom must pay the price.”She wriggled as if trying to dodge his hand. “Please!”He had no intention of stopping, because the wriggling and the begging was just part of the game. He could spank her to tears and she’d still be dripping wet for him. Summer was wired as a true submissive, her masochism a complement to her dance career. She was a perfect complement to him. Satisfaction surged with each crack of flesh against flesh, the sting of his palm and the bounce of her cheeks fueling his lust. “I will not tolerate your fits, bambina.” Her bottom bobbed under his hand. “If you have a problem with me, you figure out a way to talk to me about it. Respectfully.”“Ouch, Carlo—I’m sorry!”He didn’t stop until she had collapsed, whimpering over his legs, her bottom hot and swollen from his hand prints. Her body trembled. He ran a hand up her sleek, muscled back. Her breath came in shaky sobs, but her eyes were dry. He smoothed the hair away from her face. She looked back at him, her lower lip trembling, a question on her face. Leaning over, he kissed her temple and some of the tension left her body. She could probably take any amount of pain with enough positive encouragement. But he had modulated how much soothing he gave her because he wanted her to remember the punishment, not just the pleasure that would come afterward.“Reach back and pull open your naughty cheeks.”

~ Loving Liam ~ by Alyssa Bailey ~
I'm so pleased to have Alyssa Bailey on my blog today with
Loving Liam
the third book in The O'Connor's series.

Blurb: Just when newly married Jocelyn thought life could not get any better things began to crumble around her. She and Liam live an idyllic life on a prosperous ranch in the corner of the Bitterroot Mountains. Jocelyn knows better, but she has a secret that she’s keeping from Liam that threatens their happy existence and she knows what her traditional husband thinks about secrets. Is it worth the risk?
Jocelyn is the wife that Liam has longed for, right down to allowing him his old-fashioned way of dealing with things when she steps too far out of bounds. But she has trouble trusting him with everything. And now, something is not right and when he discovers how wrong things are, he is not sure how to handle his wife’s betrayal or if he even can.
After waiting ten years to finally have the life they have longed for, will Jocelyn choose to throw it all away to keep her secrets safe?
Excerpt: He flipped the overhead light on and she gave him a withering look. He took a step inside the bedroom.“You are more stubborn than my prize bull. Jocelyn, come to bed. I know you are angry, but you are not sleeping in here. You belong in our bed.”Jocelyn gave no indication that she was even hearing him. Liam turned and closed the bedroom door. Jocelyn listened as he walked closer to her and she heard him unbuckle his belt. Liam never used a belt, not ever. He had threatened to if things did not change before, but he never had to resort to it. Her muscles tightened. Her body tensed. Her breath stilled. And then Liam sighed. He threw the covering back and grabbed her up, laying her across the bed. He lifted her gown. Jocelyn did not wear panties to bed. The sudden truth of the moment put Jocelyn in a panic. She thrashed around to get away from her husband and then when she felt the first lash of the belt she stilled. He had done it. He had actually done it. He was going to spank her into submission to agree to what he wanted. At this moment, they were not a couple; this was not a partnership or even a marriage. It was nothing she wanted. She cried quietly. Not because he was using a belt on her to get her compliance, it was because he thought it was acceptable. She endured the slaps of the belt and she felt the hesitation and knew, even if her husband did not, that deep down he was rejecting his actions. She lay on the bed as he laid stripe after stripe on her as her heart broke. Then Liam growled, “This isn’t right.” The belt flew across the room to slam into the wall and slide to the floor. He returned Jocelyn to her horizontal position in Kelli’s bed. He reached to cover her up and crouched on his haunches to look into her face. He gently wiped the silent tears that rolled down her cheek. His face crumbled.“I’m sorry. This isn’t working.” He wiped more tears and then quietly left the room. Jocelyn let the dam break on her pent up emotions and she cried out her heartbreak.

Her first memory of books was when her mother read to her as a small child. She began writing as soon as she could put letters together to form words. Her first story at the age of six was about a performing horse that ran away from the circus. As she got older and read more of a variety of books, she would say, “I can do better than that” and then rewrite them in her head. She was writing fanfiction before fanfiction was a ‘thing’. In high school and college, she won journalism and special recognition for her academic and fictional writing. Alyssa is a firm believer in all things spanking. She loves writing about domestic discipline and power exchanges between strong, intelligent women who are not afraid to make a stand and men confident enough to give them their space but Alpha enough to keep his woman safe, in spite of herself. ~ Disobeying the Trail Boss in The Code of the West ~
Welcome to my blog for this week's Saturday Spankings blog hop where authors share 8 sentences of their work.
I'm back this week with some more from my recently released western The Code of the West which is the standalone sequel to The Ways of the West. Both these books have been combined into one paperback volume - The Heart of the West.
“No.” Jed’s refusal was firm. “I’m going to be out there fighting alongside your men. They’re fighting for me – I’m going to be fighting with them.” “Get in the wagon before I take a razor strop to your bare backside!” Mr Jordan snarled, his eyes flashing with frustration. “Take a razor strop to me if you feel you must, but I won’t be hiding in the wagon. This is my fight, Weston. Let me fight it.”
Blurb: In the years since the tragic death of her parents, Jedda-Lyn Cross has given everything she has to keep the family ranch running. She has grown accustomed to getting no help at all from her alcoholic brother, but when his violent, sadistic friend tries to make Jedda his wife against her will, it is the last straw.
Her attacker is the son of the richest family in town, and with the corrupt sheriff ready to do his bidding Jedda is desperate to leave town in a hurry. With no money and no horse, her best chance of making her escape comes in the form of a soon-to-be-departing cattle drive led by the famous trail boss Wes Jordan. But a young woman has little hope of gaining employment on a cattle drive, so drastic measures will be required…
Wes is none too pleased when he discovers that the new drover he hired is actually a beautiful twenty-two-year-old woman disguised as a boy, but after hearing Jedda’s story he promises to protect her. As he quickly realizes, however, that will be easier said than done. Jedda is sassy, headstrong, and in serious need of a good, hard, bare-bottom spanking, and when her reckless disregard for her own safety finally pushes him too far, Wes takes her firmly in hand.
After a painful, humiliating punishment from the handsome trail boss, Jedda is left with her bottom burning and her mind set awhirl. In spite of everything, she aches for Wes to take her in his arms, and when at last he does the pleasure of his skillful, passionate lovemaking nearly takes her breath away. But with her obsessed former suitor and his hired guns still after her, can she bring herself to accept the fact that, for a man like Wes, risking his life to protect the woman he loves is just part of what it means to live by the code of the west.
Publisher’s Note: The Code of the West is an erotic romance novel that contains sexual scenes and spankings, including domestic discipline in a historical setting. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

What a gorgeous cover!
Blurb: Patty misses her husband dearly and dreams of him coming home for Christmas. When she shares her dream with her children, they become increasingly worried as Patty goes between present day and her cherished memories. Her children gather to decide how to help her handle the disappointment and comfort her when he doesn't show up. After all, it was only a dream. Convinced she was losing her grip on reality and shouldn't live alone any longer, they decide to wait until after the holidays before making any major changes in her life. But Christmas Day brings a shocking surprise—to everyone but Patty. This is a heartwarming, funny, and touching story that will have you believing in miracles.
Excerpt: Patty showered, did her hair and makeup, and dressed in a pretty off white lace frock she’d purchased last summer because it reminded her of her wedding gown. It was simple, with long sleeves, a high neck, and the ruffle at the bottom just touched her toes. She had just finished tying the bow in the back when the doorbell rang.A flurry of activity began. The little ones kissed their great-grandmother and began to hang ornaments on the bottom of the tree. Everyone arrived with Liam, his daughter, Eve, and grandchildren bringing up the rear with dozens of packages.“Somebody got hungry,” Liam said, nodding to his youngest grandchild who was munching on one of the rolls.”“It’ll never be missed,” Patty grinned.
Like magic, everyone pitched in and the tables were set with a variety of patterned dishes. Some were Patty’s grandmother’s, some were a wedding gift, and others were pretty pieces she picked up along the way. She and her daughter, Kiera, always had a thing about picking up pretty plates at yard sales and thrift stores. They both wondered what stories each held and Patty knew the dishes on the tables today would have their own story to tell through the years to come. The men carried the heavy platters to the tables and soon everyone was seated, some of the little ones on their mothers’ laps, a couple still in highchairs. There was only one empty place at the table.Mai turned to her husband. “Jack, will you say grace?”“No Jack, please wait a minute or two,” Patty made a simple request. “I think we should wait for your father. It’s three o’clock now and he should be pulling in the driveway any minute.A hush fell over the room as the eyes of her grown children darted from one face to another.“Mom, we can wait a few minutes,” Kiera whispered, patting her hand.“Thank you,” her Mom murmured, giving her a beautiful smile.Patty sat patiently, her hands folded in her lap, and the silence that filled the room for the next few minutes was deafening.Carrie stood behind her mother, hands on her shoulders, anticipating the need to console her when all eyes turned toward the front door.

#WipItUpWednesday ~ The Code of the West
For my #WipItUpWednesday post this week, I'm sharing the final installment of the fight between Cal and Mr Jordan. Installment one and two can be found here and here.
Then there was silence. “It’s over,” Davey whispered in her ear, spinning her around so she could see. Sure enough, Cal was lying on the ground, wounded and bleeding but alive, and Mr Jordan was on his feet, but barely. Woody and Chuck both moved to help him over to the supply wagon where Monty was already laying out his medicine bag. Jed stood there in horror, shocked, looking at the scene before her, unable to believe it. Woody and Chuck were on each side of Mr Jordan, supporting him as he staggered over to the wagon, trailing blood behind him. Cal wasn’t moving. In a flash, Neil was by his side, examining him briefly, then he drew his gun. Davey moved so fast that she didn’t even see it. Instantly, he’d pushed her sideways, cleared his gun from its holster and shot the gun from Neil’s hand. Neil dropped to his knees, clutching his wrist, blood covering his hand and dripping to form a puddle on the ground. “Neil!” Jed screamed, running to him, crouching down beside him. “Here, let me have a look,” she said, picking up his wrist gently. But Neil jerked his hand away. “If you’d been at home where you belong, and married Cal like you should have done, this wouldn’t have happened,” he hissed at her venomously. He groaned in pain. “Are you happy now?” he spat at her. Jed couldn’t believe it. Neil was actually blaming her for this? His best friend forced himself on her in their kitchen, hunted her down when she ran away, used his dirty fighting tactics to try and get her back, and he actually expected her to marry the man? What kind of brother was he? Tears streaming down her face, she got to her feet hurriedly. “Get lost Neil,” she snarled at him. “You’re dead to me.” She turned and crashed into the solid mass of Davey’s chest. Instantly, he put his arm around her shoulder and led her away, back to the safety of the supply wagon, where Monty was tending to Mr Jordan. “Woody, can you take that useless bastard out there a bandage? He’ll bleed to death otherwise,” Davey said. “While you’re there, help him get Cal back on his horse. They can clear out.” Jed knelt down beside Mr Jordan. Monty had dosed him up on whisky and he was lying back on a blanket, a piece of wood between his teeth, while Monty stitched up the gash in his arm and tended his other cuts and bruises. “He’s busted up bad,” Monty told her. “Broken ribs, all these stab wounds, bruises everywhere. He’ll be out of action for a few days. Make him up a bed in the supply wagon.” She nodded once, then went to do Monty’s bidding with a lump in her throat. Maybe Neil was right. Maybe she should have just married Cal after all. Mr Jordan was hurt pretty bad, and it was all her fault. “I’ll be back!” Neil’s shouted threat echoed across the prairie and a shudder went through her; she knew what she had to do.

Woohoo - my 2nd book is now out in paperback!
Welcome to my blog for this week's Saturday Spankings!
#SatSpanks is where authors share 8 sentences of their work. This week, because Blushing Books has just released my second book as a paperback, I'm sharing Rachel's Journey .
This book is very close to my heart for two reasons - the first is, Rachel, my heroine, has Tourette's Syndrome, just like me. Secondly, this novel is set down here in Southland, NZ, at the bottom of the world where I live. The background on the cover reflects the area I live very well.
Rachel was such a loser. Growing up with Tourette's Syndrome has taught her that. Who could possibly want someone who contorted their faces in bizarre twitches or snorted at random? Not even Mike, the man who had promised he loved her, had been able to put up with it. She broke up with him when she caught him cheating on her during their great overseas experience, promptly flying back home to hide and lick her wounds.
James was the manager for the 850 acre farm she and her brother Simon had inherited. She liked James. He'd always treated her nicely, like an honorary little sister, and she'd had a crush on him forever. Not that she could ever tell him. She wasn't going to set herself up for rejection ever again.
But when it seems that someone is out to harm her, can she count on James to come to her rescue?
Set in rural New Zealand, this epic romance will thrill you and keep you captivated, enchant you with charming detail and inspire you, as learning to overcome adversity ultimately is Rachel's Journey.
Smack! His huge, work-roughened hand landed hard again, splatting across both cheeks. And it got a reaction. “Yeowch!” Rachel shrieked. “I’m sorry James!” she yelled, as his hand landed four more times in quick succession. “Please stop … I’m sorry! Truly I am!” He ignored her and continued to spank her hard, putting real effort into making her butt burn. Rachel squealed and squirmed and pleaded with James to stop, and the battle she was waging against her tears was getting closer to being lost with each additional stinging spank that landed on her upturned bottom.
Rachel's Journey is available in ebook format on Blushing Books and Barnes & Noble and in both ebook format and paperback at Amazon

~ The Code of the West ~ WipItUp Wednesday!
Welcome back to my blog for this week's #WipItUp Wednesday blog hop!
This week I'm continuing on from the excerpt I shared last week ... if you missed that post, check it out here.
She could hear the beat of Davey’s heart as he wrapped his arms tightly around her in a protective embrace, pounding in an erratic rhythm, getting faster and faster as the fight wore on. She didn’t need to see the fight to know what was happening – she could hear it in the groans of the men. She could feel it in the grip Davey had on her, the grip that kept getting tighter and tighter even though she remained still. The minutes ticked by. She could hear blows landing, accompanied by muffled grunts. Davey’s arms held her tightly. She was clutching his shirt in one hand, her other fist was stuffed into her mouth to stifle her screams.
Suddenly, Davey loosened his grip. Something was happening! Cautiously, she peeked back over her shoulder just in time to see Woody passing Mr Jordan a knife, the blade small but sharp. She breathed a sigh of relief. Now the fight was even, and Cal hated fighting under those odds. Mr Jordan had taken a beating – blood oozed down his arm, it stained his shirt, his face was swollen and bruised, one eye was partially closed already. How much more of a punishment could one man take?
She closed her eyes again, pressing her face back into Davey’s shirt, clutching the fabric tightly in both hands. She couldn’t watch. Then there was silence. “It’s over,” Davey whispered in her ear, spinning her around so she could see.

The Code of the West is the standalone sequel to The Ways of the West. And now both books are now available in one paperback volume: The Heart of the West

Saturday Spankings - The Code of the West
Welcome to my blog for this week's #SatSpanks blog hop!
My 8 sentences this week continue on from the snippet I shared last week.
She was surprised by how much it stung. She knew Mr Jordan was still recovering from his injuries, she knew he couldn’t put much strength into spanking her. Yet on cold, wet, bare skin, his hard hand felt like a branding iron. He spanked her hard and fast on alternate cheeks, spreading them out to cover her entire bottom and the tops of her thighs. With each smack, Jed yelped and wriggled, kicking her feet, trying to escape the stinging smacks that just kept landing. Mr Jordan kept up the assault on her backside, spanking her in a steady rhythm, until Jed was limp over his lap, sobbing hard.
Her bottom was one big mass of pain; she wasn’t even aware when Mr Jordan stopped spanking and instead just rested his hand lightly on her burning bottom. She lay over his lap, sobbing wretchedly.
