And Then You Have the Horrible Moment…

When you open your Outlook and the inbox is EMPTY.

Which it shouldn’t be.

Then you panic (in a macho, manly way of course).

And then you realize you’d somehow scrolled to the bottom of the screen.

And then you further realize maybe you need to catch up on sleep…

Look Up

So, not a lot of posting on the blog–mostly because I’ve been banging my head with my latest manuscript…at dinner with friends last night, I heard about a group of scientists who won an awards for “discovering that when dung beetles get lost, they can navigate their way home by looking at the Milky Way.”

Pretty cool, hey? Insects with the ability for celestial navigation…a reminder that even when you’re feeling lost & surrounded by poop, you can always find your way by choosing to look up.

Apparently (according to Spell Check) there is no word for “should’ve.”…jury’s still out on whether there’s truth in “Can’t isn’t a word.”

Must Be Monday…

…been staring at the computer for 10 minutes, trying to remember what I’m supposed to be doing & why I sat down in the first place.

Is This Snarky?

At the deodorant aisle in the drug store & noticing that men have all kinds of “strong” scents: mountain breeze, alpine fresh.

Women, on the other hand are getting things like “powder fresh.”

Why do men get to smell like avalanches and ocean waves while women are getting the scent parents use on their infants when changing poopy diapers?

Lesson of the Day

Good Idea: Putting the box of old files in the study, where the cats can’t access the papers.

Bad Idea: Sticking it just inside the door, so when I (barely awake) stumble into the pitch black room I almost take myself out and spill the cup of tea in my hand.
