~ SIREN featured on BORDERS

This weekend, Borders.com invited me to be their Guest Author Blogger to talk about SIREN, since my 4th novel is being reissued this month in trade paperback format.

The mass market edition of the novel was released last summer, however the book got somewhat lost in the shuffle, since almost immediately after its release, my publisher, Leisure Books, axed its mass market line. The Barnes & Noble website even featured the book last December with the bittersweet praise of A Victim of History: How a Stellar Horror Novel (John Everson's Siren) Came and Went Unnoticed.

As Leisure looked inward and worked to retool and reorganize its business, SIREN quickly disappeared from stores last year. Since then, the book has sold well in  e-book format, and also will soon be available in an audiobook edition.

But I'm stoked that actual print copies of SIREN will be back in stores next week, and it was a very cool thing to be able to write a blog for Borders. You can read my story of SIREN here:

~ Tweets for May 2011

At last have landed at O'Hare (headed to the airport in Canada at 5am, ugh). Looks like I brought Vancouver's cloudy skies home with me! #
Goodbye Canadian loonies… Hello again, weak U.S. dollar! #
I have tasted the heir to Newcastle Brown Ale… it is Granville Island Brewing's Amber Ale. Vancouver, you are one lucky (and scenic) city! #
Last night's neighborhood "deck crawl" was a blast. Getting up 4 hours later to go to the airport to fly to Vancouver… Not so much! #
Boston, Day Two: I eviscerated a lobster today. Ruthlessly and without remorse. Aided by a bowl of bisque. And butter. Lots of butter! #
Last week it was Austin for World Horror Con, this week it's Boston, for work. Hanging a lot at O'Hare lately, but they never recognize me! #
Review says VIGILANTES OF LOVE has "the most enjoyable short stories I have read in the past few years." http://tinyurl.com/3pn7hsj #kindle #
Cool! THE PUMPKIN MAN limited edition has topped the pre-order bestsellers list at The Horror Mall for April: http://tinyurl.com/3qeoj9r #
A great early review of my upcoming novel THE PUMPKIN MAN is now live at Literary Mayhem. Check it out: http://tinyurl.com/3ogh6ny #
Gospel Brunch at Stubb's. http://plixi.com/p/97842438 #
Capped off one of the best World Horror Cons in years by taking a group to Gospel Brunch at Stubb's Barbecue in Austin. A perfect ending! #
I'm now on the way to the World Horror Convention in Austin, TX! We'll be fulfilling the local slogan of "Keep Austin Weird!" #
Just saw the license plate DUNG on the back of a VW Beetle. I love that! #
