Help me, Warren Zevon. You're my only hope
So, on the way home from picking up the Saab at the shop (it is no longer the Roaring Car! rejoice!), the radio played Kid Rock's "All Summer Long," to which I say WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT OVER. Why is Warren Zevon trapped in this Kid Rock song about listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd?
It does, however, make me want the mash-up, "Werewolves of Alabama," like whoa.

Q&A
Probably the last installment for this go-round.
1.
Q: In these Q&As, what's the question you've always wished someone would ask, but hasn't?
A: I'm always a little sad that nobody asks about the literary jokes. Possibly that's just because I'm such a flaming geek. But, for instance, I keep hoping someone will remark on the presence of "Porphyria's Lover" as a kind of subetxt; there's Porphyria Levant, and then there's the fact that the bog body in Corambis was, in fact, strangled with her own h...

I know kung fu.
Complete draft!
This is the one about the eco-wizard, the knight errant, and the giant mutant telepathic bear, with the first line, "The windship Pellucid heeled over, her sails filling as they caught the wind called the Mariah, one of the winds that blew so steadily across the Abandon that they had been mapped more than a century before: the Mariah, the Medusa, and the Mother of Angels, which had another name among windship crews." It does not yet have a title, and it badly needs a second dra...

Q&A 4, plus...
1.
Q: What does Felix see (or what is he able to see) when he looks off the battlements?
A: I'm not quite sure what you're asking: what the view is, or how good his eyesight is. The view from the battlements is of all the rooftops of Mélusine, as the Mirador is both the tallest building in the city and on high ground; Felix tends to gravitate toward the view to the south: the Lower City.
If you're asking about his eyesight, he can certainly see well enough to pick out major landmarks like the ca...

NOTES: This was all about the compromise between mind and matter. I started with my right knee protesting the frog-kick in a way that suggested it was because I was doing the frog-kick wrong, so I got all mindful about that and made my thigh and hip do their share of the work. Then my right groin and hip started hurting, in that, Hey, we did not sign up to do work! way. I persisted grimly. Then the left side shin-...
