T-Shirt Of The Week #010: THE CIGARETTE OF VICTORY

TOTW is basically a joke that Ariana and I pull each week in our joint guise as the International Electrophonic Unit. Basically, we take some of the stupider things I've said on Twitter and elsewhere, often in a state of extreme alcoholic refreshment or severe sleep deprivation, and put them on a t-shirt. Ariana set up a Cafe Press store (because this is a joke and engaging with a serious maker of t-shirts would be less funny to us), and… well, once a week, here we are.

Emma Vieceli, Kelly Sue DeConnick On Whitechapel This Week

This week on my message board, writer Kelly Sue DeConnick and writer/artist/octopoid-multitasker Emma Vieceli will be answering questions and talking about their work in five-day residencies. Em writes, draws, teaches, publishes and organises, and Kel's probably the only person I know who's written more than eleven thousand pages of dialogue and still had a more interesting life than most of us.

Come and meet them.

Ghost Bikes | ghost bikes
"Ghost Bikes are small and somber memorials for bicyclists who are killed or hit on the street. A bicycle is painted all white and locked to a street sign near the crash site, accompanied by a small plaque."

A Small Test

This is me testing a new mobile posting solution. It's unlikely to work well when drunk, luckily for you.

Station Ident: Southend Weekend Television

4297832928_d97ac035c2

When I was a kid, you see (and when everything in my world was the colour of the above photo), weekends meant the usual ITV station, Thames, segued to London Weekend Television. Which, when you were a kid in a country that only had three television channels, was kind of a big deal. Also, it meant regular morning broadcasting. Which, if you're of my generation, meant Sally James in thighboots.

Anyway. Here I am. All kinds of things swimming through my head today, and I'm waiting for one o...
