Air of the Soul

Your thoughts and emotions are not yours, nor do they belong to anyone.

Thoughts and emotions freely circulate like air. They are the air of the soul.

The quality of the air can be different according to circumstances, yet whatever air you breathe, this air is not yours, is simply air, just as thoughts and emotions are simply thoughts and emotions.Your physical body needs air in order to survive, and this air has to be breathed in and out. If we hold the air that we breathe in without breathing out and breathing in further air our body dies. Similarly if we hold thoughts and emotions, if we don’t release them, our soul dies.When your soul is in pain it is because you are holding emotions and thoughts, because you believe that they are yours. And if you keep holding them your soul will die. Hence remember, thoughts and emotions are not yours. Do not hold them, do not own them, let them go!
