#ThursdayThoughts: #EggcerptExchange with Kathleen Rowland @RowlandKathleen
Hello and Welcome to another edition of Thursday Thoughts featuring an Eggcerpt Exchange. This week's guest, Kathleen Rowland is new-to-me and therefore new to this blog so without further ado....
Here's Kathleen!
Book Buyers Best finalist Kathleen Rowland is devoted to giving her readers fast-paced, high-stakes suspense with a sizzling love story sure to melt their hearts. Kathleen used to write computer programs but now writes novels. She grew up in Iowa where she caught lightning bugs, ran barefoot, and raced her sailboat on Lake Okoboji. Now she wears flip-flops and sails with her husband, Gerry, on Newport Harbor but wishes there were lightning bugs in California.
Kathleen exists happily with her witty CPA husband, Gerry, in their 70’s poolside retreat in Southern California where she adores time spent with visiting grandchildren, dogs, one bunny, and noisy neighbors. While proud of their five children who’ve flown the coop, she appreciates the luxury of time to write while listening to demanding character voices in her head.

Now about Kathleen's book, Deadly Alliance ....
Finbar Donahue, former Army Ranger, walked on the wild side in Iraq, but now he lives in the shadows. After his evasive partner, Les, was shot in a random drive-by, Finn discovers cash is siphoned monthly. He fights to keep his investment company afloat. When the late partner’s girlfriend, Amy Kintyre, applies for his bookkeeping job, Finn suspects she knows about his company drain and hires her.
Amy needs a nine-to-five with free evenings and weekends to get her fashion design business back on track. She unearths Les’ s secret bank account and alerts Finn. Freezing of the money laundering account sets off havoc within an Irish gang. Amy witnesses a gang fight between a brutal ISIS fundraising organization and the Irish. Desperate to escape a stalker’s crosshairs, she seeks refuge with Finn. As danger heats up, sparks fly hotter.
Eggcerpt:
Amy entered the bathroom and faced a door opposite, the entrance to the Harp Hotel on the Lake. No wonder this bathroom was elegant. Waffle towels and an assortment of fragrance mists, lotions, and a milk-glass, soap pump sat on a green-marble counter next to a vintage-looking faucet. If she weren’t in a hurry, she’d spray herself with the cologne in the shamrock container.
There were two large stalls, and she peeked under the shiny white doors to make sure she wouldn’t intrude upon someone. After making sure it was empty, she headed in and hung her little handbag on a hook. About to use the toilet, she heard muffled voices. Wasn’t she alone?Glancing upward, she spotted a vent. The voices came from a room in the hotel. Did she hear strong words? She stepped onto the toilet seat and stood on tiptoes, straining to raise herself even higher. As she peered through the vent, she realized she was looking over a balcony and onto a large conference room. This bathroom, on the second level of the parking structure, was level with the hotel’s mezzanine.About twenty feet below, the marble floor gleamed up at her, but the scene was far from friendly business. A half-dozen men wore turbans and black, body armor with the Takbir insignia embroidered on them. The symbol, hard to ignore this year, was white Arabic writing on their rolling-sand motif flag and displayed with every hostage crisis. Flowing robes extended half-way below their shins. The robed men surrounded four men seated with their hands on a round table. These men were held captive, she was certain. The two facing her wearing Claddagh rings on their third fingers had visited Les. The rings married them, molded them into a brotherhood. Whether they wore suits or the Levis they’d worn on their visit, they bound together by a code of violence and silence. For years the Waterfront Roached remained an impenetrable and unstoppable force. Until now. The Irish Mafioso appearance was as easy to recognize as the Takbir terrorists. In her hometown of Long Beach, the Waterfront Roaches went about their business in match-match suits. The Irish Kings of Cocaine ruled the warehouse district. After scrutinizing the backs of the other two suits, one wore a fedora identical to the Irish mobster at the coffee shop. Next she zeroed in on the other man with slicked back, silver hair who’d visited Les at their condo. Was an Islamic gang taking over the Irish mob’s territory?Fearing they’d see her, she cringed, but the thugs were far below. Concentrating, she tried to make out what was happening down there. She looked through the vent. A sword gleamed upward. Now let's find out a little more about Kathleen's hero. Do you have a nickname? Finn. My full name is Finbar Michael Donahue. What actually is your job? I own my own investment company, but who’s the chickenshit stealing money from me?What is your level of education? I have a B.A. in finance, former Army Ranger. That was when I targeted the enemy.Take note readers: Deadly Alliance has been reviewed as EROTICA and can be purchased at Amazon.
Hope you enjoyed today's Eggcerpt Exchange. Remember all of the books are on my Pinterest board so if you want to follow this blog hop, check it out. Be sure and come back Saturday for our Spotlight with Tanya Hanson and check back weekly for more Tuesday Treasures, Thursday Thoughts and Saturday Spotlights!
Until next time, take care and God Bless!

#TuesdayTreasure: Mark Wayne Allen shares treasures with us!
Good Morning!
Louisiana/TX and a few other states have received a LOT of water over the last several days. Although the rain has stopped for now, a bunch of folks are still not out of danger. If you're one of them, PLEASE heed the warnings and be safe!
Today's guest is not brand new. Mark visited with us on Saturday Spotlight in Feb and Thursday Thoughts in Jan, so without much further ado, let's see what Mark treasures....
Life is remarkable. As a science fiction fan, I am constantly reminded of Star Trek's Vulcan I.D.I.C. Infinite Diversity From Infinite Combinations is the key to many situations.
Take, for example, the webinar that I recently attended. Most of it was a waste of time, but I did learn a few key things. Granted, it was mere minutes of learning in an ocean of ideas, but those things illustrated some key concepts that I can reap a lot of reward from.
I make it a priority to learn something new every day. I generally succeed and those tiny slices of knowledge make life easier. Take our family, for example. During the summer, we eat lots of watermelons. Well, I was watching the evening news (in the days before CNN, Fox, etc.) and there was a two-minute clip about picking watermelons.
I'd always learned that the only way to pick ripe watermelons is the old thump test (and listening for a deep thud). Now, I'm a quadriplegic. If there's something I can do by sight, rather than by hand, I'm interested in learning. So I listened and learned that the more the green stripes on a watermelon were separated, the riper the fruit was. I tried it. Guess what? It works!
What I'm saying is that knowledge itself is something that I treasure. I love its capacity to make my life easier. I love to learn and expand my mind. Most of all, I love its diversity. I love how knowledge can be applied to so many things.
May we all treasure, and use, the things we learn.
Mark Wayne Allen was born in Merryvillle, Louisiana where he now resides, but has lived in many states. Due to life tragedies, he is a quadriplegic.A love of books inspired him to write down his own stories, which, over the years, has evolved to include all categories. From poetry to short stories to novels, his knowledge of the craft grew over time, and so did his love for it.He wrote two short stories and several poems that were published in a short-lived e-zine called Dementia. In 2013, he published the science fiction book Star Siege which was written during his years at Louisiana State University. Since then, he has placed in several contests since and even had a first place poem. He writes regularly for The Voice Of Southwest Louisiana Magazine.Having lived in the North, South, East, and West has given him the opportunity to talk with a diverse group of people as well as an appreciation for different cultures. Currently, he lives with his wife of many years, Kelley, and is an active part of the community. You can keep up with Mark through his Website,Facebook and Twitter.Mark's brand new book, 3 Lifetimes in 1 is available through Amazon in Paperback and on Kindle! You are SO right, Mark, knowledge is powerful, valuable and certainly something to treasure.
Well friends, hope you enjoyed today's treasure. Visit weekly for Tuesday Treasures, Thursday Thoughts and Saturday Spotlights.
Until next time...take care & God Bless. PamT

Lauren Werthman struggles with guilt and depression. Even moving to another state and into a new home doesn't help her overcome the life-altering aftermath of losing her sister.
Memories of the tragic accident reverberate through her life as her family tries to cope, but Lauren's life spirals out of control. Her mother criticizes her choices every day, her father continues to work later and later, and people at her new school seem to know the family secret.
Lauren binge-eats, has nightmares, and doubts the existence of a God Who didn't intervene to prevent the senseless tragedy.
As Lauren's family and friends work through the pain and guilt, will they find that even though the void will always remain, the power of forgiveness brings peace and hope and a bright future, or will Lauren forever be lost to the pain and guilt?
Excerpt:Out in the hallway, I joined the human current heading for my next class, gym. Even that didn’t seem so bad, since a sugar-induced high had kicked in. Weaving through the crowded hallway, I hung a right and …Oh, God, the smell. Chlorine. A swimming pool, behind a glass wall, next to the girls’ locker room. All that water. Splashing sounds.
My legs stiffened. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t bend my knees. Someone was whimpering. Was it me? The floor seemed to float out from under me. The lights were too bright, the white tiles too shiny. I was afraid I’d pass out, or worse, puke. When I tried to scream, the sound died in my throat, the same way it had that day. Run. Now.
Surviving Haley is available Amazon in Ebook & Print, B&N and Pelican Book Group.

#ThursdayThoughts: #EggcerptExchange with @AnitaPhilmar!
Good Morning,
Yep, another Eggcerpt Exchange coming to you....I hope you're enjoying them as much as I and the authors participating in this blog hop are. Remember, if you miss any, you can visit my Pinterest board to check out all the books! But for now....enjoy this one by a guest who has been here before,, Anita Philmar with her book, In Deep Water.
One more thing..PLEASE remember folks...Anita writes EROTIC romance so even though this excerpt is not so hot, keep that in mind should you choose to check out her other books!
Skinny-dipping to cool off in the Trinity River couldn’t cause any problem...could it?Wading into the water, Carolyn Evans takes one step too far and finds herself neck-deep in the river and fighting for her life. After saving Carolyn from drowning, Zack Goodman is trapped in an awkward situation when they’re both rescued by a steamboat and hauled on deck.Naked and embarrassed, Carolyn is quick to save them from humiliation and claims they are married. Will Zack release her from her claim of matrimony? Or will he teach her once words are spoken...they are not so easily retracted? Excerpt –
“Okay everyone, the excitement is over. Let’s give this young couple some room to breathe. They must be feeling a might peckish after their swim.” The man waved his hands about to force the onlookers back.“You youngins follow me. I’ll show you to a cabin and then rustle you up...”
“Hey Captain, ain’t you afraid to leave them two alone?” An older man called out.
“Nay, she looks like she fell down in a sticker patch and the cows ran over her. He’ll be lucky if he’s not stuck in the doghouse for days.” Another man heckled.
The crowd burst into laughter.
Zack tightened his hold on the girl in his arms and they turned to follow the Captain.
Brushing back her hair, the girl tightened her hold on her blanket and strutted through the crowd with her head held high.
Zack, pleased she hadn’t dissolved into tears, smiled at the people gathered up on deck and followed her as the Captain led the way inside.
After weaving their way through the bowels of the steamboat, the Captain paused by a door marked private. “Y’all sit a spell in here while I find clothes to fit you. We’re due to arrive at Liberty here in...” He pulled his watch out of his front pocket and read the time. “Shouldn’t be too long now. I’ll send someone along here in a bit with some clothes. Though, I’m not too sure what we’ll be able to rustle up for the lady.”
“I ain’t really picky at the moment.” The girl bit her lip and settled on the edge of the cot that was positioned against the far wall of the cabin.
The Captain smiled and offered a curt nod to Zack. Then the man stepped through the door, closing it behind him.
In Deep Water can be found at Amazon, Smashwords & All Romance Ebooks.

#TuesdayTreasure: #EggcerptExchange with Linda McLaughlin @Lyndi Lamont
Good Morning Friends,
Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever get to share my personal treasures or thoughts with you again LOL! So many authors with great books and stories....I can't help but share them with you too...
Today we're doing another Eggcerpt Exchange, this one with Linda McLaughlin (aka: Lyndi Lamont and Lyn O'Farrell) and her book, Worth the Risk.
Children's librarian Amanda Lloyd values privacy above all else. Three years ago her wedding ended in disaster when her groom was arrested at the altar and the story of the 'Embezzler's Bride' appeared in the supermarket tabloids. The experience has left her determined to avoid being caught in the public eye again. Until she meets a sexy single dad with a scandalous past…
Ex-racer Mitch Delaney is a public figure whose life has been plastered across the tabloids more than once. But he believes that anything worth doing is worth a risk. After the death of his ex-wife, he moved to Southern California to take care of his son Josh. He doesn't need the complication of a woman in his life, especially since Josh's grandparents have filed suit for custody. But Josh is on the hunt for a new mother and he has his heart set on Miss Amanda, and Mitch can't fault his son's taste.
Against her better judgment, Amanda finds herself falling for both of the Delaney men. When she agrees to accompany Mitch to a high-profile movie premiere, they draw the attention of the tabloids. Overnight Amanda’s private affair becomes very public indeed, threatening her job and Mitch’s custody suit. She’s waited twenty-eight years for the right man. But will happiness come at too high a price?

Eggcerpt:
The town was lovely, with tall palm trees and a sandy crescent of beach ringing the glistening bay. It was a picture perfect day as they strolled along the waterfront to one of her favorite seafood restaurants.
After a delicious lunch of fresh swordfish they walked the town, stopping at all the tourist spots. They hiked up to the botanical gardens, visited the Casino where haunting echoes of the Big Band era seemed still alive, and went on the Glass Bottom boat.
“Let’s take a walk on the beach,” Mitch suggested as they stepped onto the pier.
They shed their shoes and socks, enjoying the feel of the warm sand on their toes. Amanda breathed deeply of the sea air and sighed in contentment.
“It’s been such a nice day, I hate to go home,” Mitch observed.
“You just don’t want to get back in the plane,” she teased.
“On the contrary, I can’t wait to take off over that drop-off gorge. I hope it doesn’t leave Josh fatherless.”
“You don’t have any confidence in me.”
“I haven’t booked passage on the boat, have I? You can’t get rid of me that easily.”
He gave her a look that told her the man loved a touch of danger. Her plan had backfired. Instead of discouraging him, he seemed even more interested. That should bother her, but somehow it didn’t.
“I’ve really enjoyed this.” He gestured at the town. “It’s like another world.”
She nodded in agreement. “That’s the reason I enjoy flying over here. It’s so easy to forget about the stress of daily life.”
He slipped his arm around her shoulders. “What kind of pressure are you going back to at the library?”
The pressure is right here. She was constantly fighting her attraction to this man. “Nothing really,” she remarked casually. “We’re getting ready for Halloween and I’ve got to get a costume together. I’m supposed to be Sleeping Beauty.”
“Oh? That has possibilities.” He leaned closer so his lips brushed her temple. His throaty voice whispered in her ear, “You’ll need a prince to kiss you awake, you know. I’ll be happy to volunteer for the job.”
Amanda’s breath quickened as she stared into his darkened eyes. He wouldn’t. Not here, on a public beach, in front of everyone.
He would.
She felt her knees weaken as his mouth descended. Her mind told her to pull away but her body had no desire to back out of his embrace. His kiss was as light and tender as an ocean breeze, but her reaction was anything but cool. Her pulse pounded and her heart jumped erratically.
It’s just a kiss, she told herself. But even as they pulled apart she felt a burning desire, an aching need, to feel his arms around her.

Until she meets a sexy single dad with a scandalous past… Ex-racer Mitch Delaney is a public figure whose life has been plastered across the tabloids more than once.

#SaturdaySpotlight is on Alicia Dean @Alica_Dean_ and her book, Liberty Empowered
Good Morning Friends,
Alicia Dean is not a newcomer to our blog. She has shared Tuesday Treasures with us as well as Thursday Thoughts. Today we are spotlighting her newest release, Liberty Empowered , book 3 in her Isle of Fangs series.....
She’s striving to embrace her nature…he’s fighting to restrain his.
Vampire hunter Liberty Van Helsing is responsible for protecting the humans living on Sang Croc, a tropical island in the French Polynesia. While striving to improve her recently acquired hunting skills, Liberty wrestles with her attraction to vampire, Eli Barkley, estranged son of Rupert, leader of the Evil Ones.
Then the grandparents of a young girl—who Liberty has befriended—is snatched by the Evil Ones, and Rupert offers Liberty a deal: herself for the hostages.
Rupert is certain his son will, in turn, voluntarily trade himself to save Liberty. Liberty has a better idea. Launch a rescue into Rupert's stronghold. But first she must tap into the elusive Van Helsing strength, and convince Eli he's not like his father... not anymore.
Excerpt
An evening breeze blew in from the ocean, lifting and then lowering the target that hung between two coconut palm trees. Liberty Van Helsing drew in a deep breath and focused, repeating her new mantra, the fewer vampires you kill, the more humans that die. She hadto improve as a hunter. Lives depended on it.
She shook out her shoulders, planted her feet in the sand, gripped the butt of the pistol, and narrowed her eyes on the target. She drew in a lungful of ocean air, and—
A hurtling object flashed in her peripheral just before something slammed into her shoulder. She stumbled, the gun went off—and she missed the target completely.
She lifted her upper body and rested on her elbows. "Son of a bitch!" A Frisbee lay on the beach a few feet away. She sprang to her feet, brushing sand off her jeans and whirled on Eli, who leaned nonchalantly against a palm tree. "What the hell?"
He grinned. "A little distraction."
"You threw a Frisbee at me? While I was taking aim?"
"Do you think the EO's will wait for you to settle into your stance on a hunt?"
She huffed out a breath. "Maybe not, but you could have given me a head's up."
He pushed off the tree and sauntered toward her, stopping a few inches away, his dark blond hair blowing in the wind like a tarnished halo.
Her breathing slowed, the way it did every time he came near. She squelched the urge to back away. Forcing herself to meet his glittering silver gaze, she lifted her chin.
He tightened his jaw and gritted out, "The Evil Ones aren't going to give you a head's up, Liberty. They're going to come at you, as fast and hard as they can. You have to be ready, for anything. Especially now that Rupert has called off the truce."
She shrugged, doing her best to conceal how terrified she was that the enraged leader of the EO's had a vendetta against her. "Rupert will calm down. He'll give up."
He grunted a disbelieving laugh. "You don't know Rupert. He never gives up."
"Are you afraid of him?"
"I'm not afraid for me. He might make me suffer, but he'll never kill me." A muscle ticked in his jaw, and he looked out toward the water. "But he'll come after you. He'd like nothing more than to hurt someone I lo—"
He jerked his gaze back to her with a grimace. "Someone I care about."
Love? Had he been about to say he loved her?
Liberty Empowered can be purchased at Amazon and B&N.

Award-winning, multi-published author Alicia Dean began writing stories as a child. At age 11, she wrote her first ever romance (featuring a hero who looked just like Elvis Presley, and who happened to share the name of Elvis’ character in the movie, Tickle Me), and she still has the tattered, pencil-written copy. Alicia is from Moore, Oklahoma and now lives in Edmond. She has three grown children and a huge network of supportive friends and family. She writes mostly contemporary suspense and paranormal, but has also written in other genres, including a few vintage historicals. She is a freelance editor in addition to being an editor for The Wild Rose Press.
Other than reading and writing, her passions are Elvis Presley, MLB, NFL (she usually works in a mention of one or all three into her stories) and watching her favorite televisions shows like Vampire Diaries, Justified, Sons of Anarchy, Haven, New Girl, The Mindy Project, and Dexter (even though it has sadly ended, she will forever be a fan). Some of her favorite authors are Michael Connelly, Dennis Lehane, Lee Child, Lisa Gardner, Sharon Sala, Jordan Dane, Ridley Pearson, Joseph Finder, and Jonathan Kellerman…to name a few.

#ThursdayThoughts: #EggcerptExchange with Linda K. Sienkiewicz
Good Morning and Welcome to the first Thursday Thoughts of March!
Today is another Eggcerpt Exchange post and a new-to-me author so I'll just hop right in and introduce her to you....
Author Linda K. Sienkiewicz attributes her creative drive to her artistic mother, who taught her to sew, and her father, who let her monkey around with the gadgets in his workshop. Her short stories and poetry have been published in more than fifty literary journals in print and online. She has a poetry chapbook award from Bottom Dog Press, a Pushcart Prize nomination, and an MFA from The University of Southern Maine.

What makes us step back to examine the events and people that have shaped our lives? And what happens when what we discover leads to more questions? In the Context of Love revolves around the journey of Angelica Schirrick as she reevaluates her life, and its direction.Returning with her children from their first visit with her now imprisoned husband, she tries to figure out where it all went so wrong. Can she face the failures and secrets of her past and move forward? Can she find love and purpose again? Her future, which once held so much promise, crumbled like dust after the mysterious disappearance of her first love, and the shattering revelation that derailed her life, and divided her parents. Only when she finally learns to accept the violence of her beginning can she be open to life again, and maybe to a second chance at love.Jacquelyn Mitchard, author of #1 NYTimes Bestseller, DEEP END OF THE OCEAN, says: “With humor and tenderness, but without blinking, Linda K. Sienkiewicz turns her eye on the predator-prey savannah of the young and still somehow hopeful.”Bonnie Jo Campbell, author of Michigan Notable Book MOTHERS TELL YOUR DAUGHTERS, says “Sienkiewicz’s powerful and richly detailed debut novel is at once a love story, a cautionary tale, and an inspirational journey. It should be required reading for all wayward daughters, and their mothers, too.”Excerpt from In the Context of Love:I lay, stomach down, on my bed with my head hanging off the edge. I was an analytical person, a conscientious honor roll student, a quick learner. I’d studied literature, ancient history, read Shakespeare and Salinger, yet none of it, nothing, had given me the skills or words to make sense of this. The following morning, I wouldn’t have been surprised if I had opened my curtains to an ash-filled sky, charred houses, trees burnt to stubs, the ground still smoking. Instead, the sun had risen like a relentless machine, and the sky wafted like a freshly-washed blue sheet above us. My house was the same house, with the same eggshell white ceilings, dark wooden floors and braided rugs. The only difference: I understood reality was a dark beast, capable of shifting under my feet.I fingered the silk edge of my blanket, trying to reframe my past in light of what I now understood to be the truth. Everything I’d thought about myself had been a falsehood. In many ways, our family operated like any other family. Dad paid the bills, fertilized the lawn, and kept us free from foot pain. Mom knitted and purled, chased after flesh-eating germs, and smothered me until the sound of my own name made me cringe. We played Uncle Wiggly and Chutes and Ladders. I went trick-or-treating on Halloween. I had a sandbox. I pushed my plastic baby doll in her flimsy buggy back and forth along the sidewalk while squirrels scolded me from the trees. We had two cars, one and a half baths, and a color television. Hot and cold water. Electricity. We ate pot roast on Sunday, spaghetti on Wednesday, and tuna casserole every Friday and we weren’t even Catholic. My friend Becca was terrified to stay in the house alone with her addled grandfather because he would forget who she was and try to kick her out. Lizzy was ashamed to be seen with her mother, who was so obese she couldn’t walk to their mailbox without wheezing. Jessica’s father owned a motel where a man was found shot in the head in room thirty-six. Paige suspected her parents were swingers who went to sex parties. Skip seemed to have been deserted by his folks… Yet, I was certain no one’s family had a secret as hideous as mine.In the Context of Love won an Honorable Mention in the Great Midwest Book Festival. The book can be purchased in paperback or ebook on Amazon in Print and for Kindle. Also at Barnes and Noble http://bit.ly/1QFs340 Here’s an interview with Angelica Schirrick, the heroine from
In the Context of Love:
1. Do you have a nickname?
I’ve been called troublemaker, short stuff, hot stuff, cupcake, angel, and hure (by my German grandmother — don’t ask why), but most people call me Angie.2. What do you do for a living?
I’m pleased to say I’m the marketing and community service director for Safe Harbor, a non-profit women’s domestic violence shelter in Cleveland, Ohio. I love the work I do.3. What’s your most important goal?
To see my two children grow up to be happy and well-adjusted, despite having an activist for a mother and a felon for a father. 4. What’s your worst fear or nightmare?
That my two children do not grow up to be happy and well-adjusted. 5. What’s your most embarrassing moment?
When I was a teen, I was furious with my parents and had this need to get away from them, so I snatched the keys to my dad’s Lincoln and took off. I don’t know what I was thinking because I didn’t have a license or much driving experience. I lost control and drove the car into a fir tree in the Brecksville Metropark. I was okay but the Lincoln was not.
Wow...sounds like an interesting book! Thanks for sharing with us Linda!

#TuesdayTreasures: #EggcerptExchange with Kim Headlee @KimHeadlee
Good Morning on this 1st day of March and Welcome to another Eggcerpt Exchange.
With the many blog exchanges one of the promo groups Kim and I belong to, she has been a pretty regular guest. Today she brings to us her latest book, Raging Sea, Reckonings .
Those who aspire to greatness must first learn servanthood.
Stripped of kin, clan, country, and even his identity for having failed the most important woman in his life and her infant son, Angusel begins the arduous task of rebuilding his life and reclaiming his honor. The path he treads is fraught with uncomfortable revelations, unexpected reconciliations… and unavoidable reckonings.
Excerpt: He stood on the bluff, staring at the gray-green sea churning against the Manx beach a score of paces below. The Sasunach funeral pyre at his back enveloped him with its draconic heat and eye-stinging smoke and gut-wrenching stench. As dizziness washed over him, the sandy ground felt as insubstantial as the cloud-laced sky. Hand to sweating temple, he tossed off the surreal sensation with a shake.
Earth, sky, fire, water… as if he were a god imprisoned at the convergence of the elements.
He snorted.
He was no god.
No longer did anyone address him by his given name, which meant “raging sea.” Even on the official duty roster he was listed as Optio Aonar, a junior officer not of command rank. No matronymic, no clan, no country; physically, emotionally, spiritually alone.
Questions for Angusel, the main character in RAGING SEA: RECKONINGS
Do you have a Significant Other? Gyan, the most significant woman in my life, I can never be with in any romantic sense, for she is married to Arthur, the man she loves with all her heart, and he her. I would sooner take my own life than cause any harm to befall their relationship. Recently I met another woman, Eileann, who was kind to me beyond all reason or expectation, even though I am an outcast among our people. Eileann is as beautiful and gentle a soul as any I have ever known, and I consider it an honor simply to know her. Whether she and I are destined to be together someday, only the gods know. What is Your Most Important Goal? The one thing I yearn for with all my soul is to reclaim my place as a warrior at Gyan’s side. Since the moment I met her, all I’ve ever wanted was to be her champion and protector. That honor was stripped from me when I failed to save the life of Gyan’s infant son, a failure that shall haunt me for the rest of my days. What is Your Worst Fear or Nightmare? My worst fear is that I shall never earn Gyan’s forgiveness, for without it, I can never achieve my most important goal. What is Your Favorite Food? With my food choices being dictated by what rations of meat and ale are offered to soldiers in the Dragon Legion, I do not give thought what might be my favorite… though a hot, juicy slice of roast pork does sound tempting just now. Are you Considered Wealthy, poor, or Somewhere in Between? Before the failure that caused me to be stripped of kin, clan, country, and purpose, I was Àrd-Oighre h’Albainaich Chaledon—that is to say, the Exalted Heir of Clan Alban, a prince among my people, with all the wealth and privileges that title entailed. Now, I own nothing more than the clothes on my back and the armor and weapons stored in the armory on my behalf.
Oh my, sounds like Angusel has quite a challenge ahead of him.
This book genre is listed as, Epic Historical Fantasy. I'm not certain what the rating would be (sensual, hot, erotic, etc) so if you're new to reading Kim's work, you might ask before you buy.
Speaking of which, you can purchase Raging Sea, Reckonings at Amazon.
Now here's a little about Kim....
Kim Headlee lives on a farm in southwestern Virginia with her family, cats, goats, Great Pyrenees goat guards, and assorted wildlife. People and creatures come and go, but the cave and the 250-year-old house ruins—the latter having been occupied as recently as the mid-twentieth century—seem to be sticking around for a while yet. She has been an award-winning novelist since 1999 (Dawnflight 1st edition, Sonnet Books, Simon & Schuster) and has been studying the Arthurian Legends for nigh on half a century.

#SaturdaySpotlight is on Karilyn Bentley @KarenBentley1 and DEMON KISSED
Good Morning Friends!
I am happy to introduce to you my guest today, Karilyn Bently with her brand new book, Demon Kissed.
Published by The Wild Rose Press, Karilyn is new to me so I'm excited to bring her to your attention too.....
Karilyn Bentley's love of reading stories and preference of sitting in front of a computer at home instead of in a cube, drove her to pen her own works, blending fantasy and romance mixed with a touch of funny.
Her paranormal romance novella, Werewolves in London, placed in the Got Wolf contest and started her writing career as an author of sexy heroes and lush fantasy worlds.
Karilyn lives in North Texas with her own hunky hero, a crazy dog nicknamed The Kraken, and a handful of colorful saltwater fish.

Gin Crawford, the world's latest demon huntress, has no time to mourn her dead lover as she's called in to determine why a demon attack occurred at the local medical school. And not just any demon, but the one demon that gives her demon-killing bracelet the shivers. A dead professor, a lab full of missing anthrax, and a demon who turns good people into minions complicate her life. Can Gin and her mentor Aidan Smythe solve the mystery of the missing anthrax and the identity of the demon before someone else dies?
Excerpt:
The scent of sulfur hangs in the air like a demonic stink bomb. I want to slap a hand over my nose, but no one else seems affected by the stench. Must be a demon huntress thing.
“Justitian,” Smythe mutters. “Not demon huntress.”
“If you don’t like my new title, then stay out of my mind.”
He glares. I swallow. Cross my arms. Refuse to take a step back. I’m learning not to be intimidated by his anger. Go me.
My justitia vibrates, throwing me out of my internal battle, pulling me back to the land of death and minions. The blob of colors pulsates, a glowing reminder of a moment of terror. The moment the demon appeared to the grad student.
Granted, I’m still taking Demons 101, but I thought demons formed minions in private. Usually after the human committed a crime, not before. A tryout, so to speak. And maybe that happened, but it sure seems to me like the black blob of demon force appeared to the grad student smack in the middle of the hallway.
Or maybe that always happens, and I just now noticed it.
The justitia’s vibration grows stronger, trembling my arm, my veins. Not its normal excited tremor upon seeing a minion or demon. A rush of images spikes through my mind, scenes of terror coupled with blood and death, memories of the justitia’s former wearers captured in time by the entity in the bracelet.
I’m not the only one freaked out by the colored blob. How bad was this demon to scare a justitia?
Wow, if you like Paranormal Romance, Demon Kissed sounds like a perfect book for you! Get your copy today at Amazon, B&N, TWRP or iBooks.
I hope you enjoyed today's spotlight! Check back weekly for Tuesday Treasures, Thursday Thoughts and Saturday Spotlights.

#ThursdayThoughts: Guest Post by @kmdaughters!
Good Morning Friends,
It is with great pleasure I bring back to our blog, KM Daughters who are sharing some very special thoughts with us....
As little girls we idolized our dad. He worked three jobs for much of his career to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads. We didn’t have much in economic terms, but looking back on our childhood we agree that we had everything we needed and that we were rich in the love our parents lavished on us.
We couldn’t afford a car, so taking walks together as a family was major entertainment. Those frequent expeditions on foot taught us to appreciate togetherness and inspired our love of nature.Another childhood joy inspired us – listening to the children’s stories Daddy wrote for us.
He carried a steno book everywhere with him and whenever he had a few minutes downtime, whether waiting for a bus or a break from one of his jobs, he wrote. His stories set our imaginations soaring.
Many years later we continue the tradition of walking and talking. On one of our sister walks, K.M. Daughters created the storyline for our first book, Reunion for the First Time (Coming in 2016 from The Wild Rose Press). Every book since has started the same way – walking together on Prairie Paths, along a sandy beach, uphill on mountain paths or suburban sidewalks like the days we strolled hand in hand with our father.
We can’t help feeling that Daddy is still with us on those walks inspiring his daughters to weave tales of their own.
Visit K.M. Daughters at http://www.kmdaughters.com
K.M. Daughters is the penname for team writers and sisters, Pat Casiello and Kathie Clare nee Lynch. Inspired by their father who wrote children's books for them when they were small and their mother's love of romance novels, K.M. Daughters was "born" in 2005 at a Romance Writers of America national conference when the sisters plotted their first manuscript.
K.M. Daughters has published twelve award-winning novels garnering rave reviews. RT Book Reviews magazine awarded a 4-star, "Compelling, Page Turner..." rating to BEYOND THE CODE OF CONDUCT, CAPTURING KARMA and ALL'S FAIR IN LOVE AND LAW.
RT Book Reviews awarded ROSE OF THE ADRIATIC 4 1/2 stars! "Fantastic...", and the final installment in the Sullivan Boys Romantic Suspense Series: IN THE ST. NICK OF TIME, rated 4 1/2 stars by RT Book Reviews - "FANTASTIC, A KEEPER".
THE SNOWS, an Amazon Kindle Select book is the author's first women's fiction novel with inspirational elements.
FILL THE STADIUM , mainstream women's fiction, is K.M. Daughters' newest release and is available on Amazon inPaperback and for Kindle, Barnes and Noble and at All Romance Ebooks!
