#TuesdayTreasures Guest post by Patricia Preston

Good Morning!

It's been a crazy couple of days so I'm going to just welcome you and let Patricia take the blog....

One thing I think we should all treasure is hope. The hope that your life will be better and/or your dreams will come true is what keeps us going. Hope can get you up in the morning and push you forward. Yet, sometimes, it is hard to hang onto hope. I have had it slip away many times and I think those are the most empty times, when you don’t feel hopeful about your future.
I was lucky enough to have some good friends, whom I treasure, that were supportive and encouraging. The main thing you have to do is get up and do something productive. I think goals inspire hope. Hope comes along with wanting to see something accomplished. So if your hope is lagging, imagine yourself doing something and succeeding. Hope will latch onto that.
I wish you much hope, inspiration and joy in the new year!

Thanks for stopping by Pam’s blog today. I write mainstream romantic novels as well as historicals and humor. Must haves in my writing cave include sweet tea, epic music and plenty of notebooks. Besides writing, I love music, history, the French Quarter, photography, reading and anything containing chocolate. I’m a fangirl of Supernatural and Walking Dead. I don’t do much with my life other than write.
I think good books make great friends! I hope some of my characters will become your friends. Here’s the recipe for my romance: Take one captivating couple, mix with adversity and angst, sprinkle with humor and add passion! If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, indulge in my contemporary series, Love Heals All. The series is set in a fictional Tennessee town, Lafayette Falls, south of Nashville where romance causes havoc, heartache, and humor for a cast of unsuspecting doctors until they realize love heals all.

Today is release day for my new book, an enemies-to-lovers plot involving high school adversaries who are reunited fifteen years later….

EVERYTHING HIS HEART DESIRES(Enemies to Lovers)
The man most likely to drive her crazy…Growing up in Lafayette Falls, senator’s daughter Natalie Layton hid her sorrows behind a bright smile that charmed everyone in high school—except Brett Harris. Hardworking and highly motivated, Brett dismissed Natalie as a slacker. Instead, she’s become an acclaimed photographer. And when Brett, now a successful cardiologist, needs her family’s help to secure a coveted position, Natalie’s more than happy to prescribe a little payback…Hailing from the wrong side of the tracks, Brett believed he could never win the school’s popular princess. Now he’s intrigued by the complex and compassionate woman Natalie’s become. Gaining her grandmother’s goodwill is the key to becoming chief cardiologist—and Natalie has no intention of making it easy. But as mutual mistrust gives way to pure chemistry, there’s more at stake than either ever expected—and much more to learn about matters of the heart…Excerpt:  Here’s an excerpt from the end of Chapter 1
Talk about the opportunity of a lifetime. If he could become Anna Layton’s physician, he would literally have it made. He would have Harry and Sheldon’s support and gratitude, which meant he could create a superior cardiology program at LFMC. Perhaps, someday, there would be a heart center named after him and he would be remembered for all posterity. Yes, he was definitely Type A.“Do you want to speak with your mother and then give me call?” he asked Harry.“Well, we have a little something different in mind.” Both Harry and Sheldon looked at Natalie as if it were her turn to speak up.She tapped her fingers on the table. “I’m home for a few weeks, and I’m staying with my grandmother.” She managed to choke out the rest, “You can come over as my dinner guest tomorrow night.”It took him a moment to process that. “Okay. So I’m not coming over as a doctor. I’m coming over as your date?”“A date is kinda stretching it,” she said as if to say that was never gonna happen. “An old friend from high school.”“Friend,” he repeated, meeting her gaze. “Seriously?”“It was Uncle Harry and Aunt Lorraine’s idea.” She was quick to clarify, and she frowned at her uncle, who had a mouthful of cheese Danish. “And it’s not a good idea. It’s not going to work. Not with Nana.”“Natalie, you promised us you’d help out.” Harry took a swig of coffee. “We’re counting on you.”She shook her head, and Brett realized she was totally against the idea, which might cost him the chief of cardiology position. He sat up straight. “Natalie, you do understand what’s at stake here?”“Besides your ego?” She didn’t blink as she looked him straight in the eye. It appeared that, since high school, she had developed a Terminator stare. He didn’t flinch. “Do you want me to help your grandmother or not?”Her phone lit up, and she checked a text message. She stuck her phone back in her purse and withdrew a small notepad. She scribbled on it, then tore off the paper and folded it. “I’ve got to meet someone,” she announced. She hitched her purse strap on her shoulder, and she leaned across the table to hand Brett the folded paper. “Here’s my cell number. If something comes up and you can’t make it tomorrow night, call me. Otherwise, dinner is at seven. Sports jacket. No tie. Be at Nana’s house, which is the Castle House on Rosewood, by six forty-five.”“I’ll be there.” He tucked the paper into the pocket of his jacket. In a low, vindictive voice, she said, “Isn’t it amazing to think that I’m the key to your success?” She glanced at Sheldon and Harry before she delivered a parting blow. “Nana is a piranha, Brett. She’ll eat you alive and not even burp.”

#SaturdaySpotlight is on Erika Grey

Good Morning and Welcome!

I certainly pray your New Year is going well. It's COLD here in SW Louisiana....below freezing temps, icy precipitation...BRRRR

Anyway, today's guest is new to me and brought to us by Prime Star Publicity.

Erika Grey holds high standards in her reporting. For this reason she sets herself apart from other End Time Bible Prophecy Ministries and labels herself as a Magi, from the Bible meaning wise men or wise women. She models her ministry and work on the Biblical magi who were analysts and learned men and women in the knowledge and disciplines of their day. At the time of Christ, Herod consulted the Magi who understood the prophetic predictions when there were no living prophets.   After reading Decoding 666 The Number of the Beast you will understand what sets Erika Grey’s Magi Reports apart from other leading Bible Prophecy gurus.

Find out more by visiting her Website and connecting with her on Social Media.

With the release of the first in the series Magi Report: Decoding 666 The Number of the Beast: An Analysis of Bible Prophecy & Technology A Status Report & Forecast  Erika Grey is the first Bible Prophecy teacher to provide actual status reports regarding the prophetic forecasts along with revealing Biblical mysteries.

No other passages in Scripture have been more talked about in end time Bible prophecy than those dealing with the mark of the Beast. Revelation 13:18 adds to the horror by posing the Bible’s most mysterious riddle. It states: “Here is wisdom, Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.”

Excerpt:
I. Abomination of Desolation-Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit

The unique phrase “abomination of desolation,” is used numerous times by Jesus as a warning. It is foretold by Daniel the prophet of the moment that the Antichrist declares himself as God  and sets up his technological counterpart to the Trinity in the Holy of Holies.  It is also called by Daniel in Daniel 8:3, “the transgression of desolation.” The verse in its entirety reads: “Then I heard a saint speaking and another saint said unto that certain saint which spoke, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice and the transgression of desolation to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?”

It is possible that the “transgression of desolation” is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, which is so grievous a sin that it even puts a stop to the healing and cleansing power of the blood of Jesus Christ.  Satan knows this fact, which is why it is part of his reign on the earth. His mark guarantees him the person’s soul and that they would have no hope of redemption.

The reason for this is that the Spirit is a part of the redemption process, and is so Holy that when the Spirit is blasphemed, it cannot do its work but must retreat for the sake of its own glory because it is part of the glory of God.

Revelation 13:6 tells us that the Antichrist blasphemes God,, it states, “Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven.”  In line with his actions the Antichrist also institutes the mark of the Beast, which blasphemes the Holy Spirit and those who take the mark will commit the unforgivable sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

Scholars concluded that that the expression “abomination of desolation” referred to the desecration of the Second Temple by Antiochus IV Epiphanes, who erected a Zeus statue within the sacred areas.  We see the grievous idolatry committed in the Temple by the Israelites in Ezekiel 6-9 bringing God’s judgements onto the nation, but there is no association with the phrase in the book of Daniel because “the transgression of desolation” is even greater than just idolatry within the temple.

Daniel 9:27, adds:

27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.”

The word for desolate is a word, which means put to silence, places laid waste, in ruins. It also means to astonish, to stun. The desolation is both literal and spiritual. The abomination of desolation is a term that not only speaks of a literal desolation due to the siege of Jerusalem, but a spiritual one as well due to the retreat of the Holy Spirit from the Third Temple and the lives of those who take the mark of the Beast.

Earlier in this report I referred to Ezekiel 9 because God marked those who were to be sparred His judgement and as a counter to God we see the Antichrist sealing those who are his and persecuting believers.  The Antichrist knows his believers are sealed unto him because by taking his mark they blaspheme the Holy Spirit and partake in the transgression of desolation.

Wow...sounds like a great book to read! Get your copy today.

Until next time, take care and God bless.

#ThursdayThoughts AHA Featured Author, Debra Doggett

Good Morning and it's a cold one out there for sure. Going to get colder, too. Hope you stay warm and cozy!

Meanwhile, please welcome another new-to-me/our blog author, Debra Doggett who is this week's AHA Featured Author..... Be aware that Debra writes hot, steamy romance!

I used to tell people I got a history degree because I didn’t have to take math classes for it. That was only part of the reason, but back then being a history nerd didn’t give off the best aura. Even my dad said he didn’t understand how I could take those classes because history was boring. It was one of the few things we disagreed on. Growing up, my hero was James Michener. It wasn’t only that he could write like nobody else, but he wrote history. His work inspired me, and one day I plan to write my own historical epic. My first attempt at dipping my toe into that goal was Training Tessa. I set this story in Renaissance Italy, one of my favorite time periods. It gave me an excuse to dig back into that time and place, making the writing fun. One of the biggest reasons for it, however, was the way sensuality permeated art, and life. Yes, there were lots of naysayers, but artists in particular began to look at the human body as sensual. That concept fit well with the story. I hope the story fits well with you.

Blurb:

Meretessa Brexiano believes in love. Her heart yearns for a true bond with the man she weds. She also believes she can change her fate. Refusing the marriage her father has arranged, she strikes a bargain with a man she hopes can teach her the art of seduction. Nicolo da Parma is a businessman with a reputation as a connoisseur of women. Their sensuality is the palette he has painted on since his youth. This time, however, he may have struck a bargain which costs more than he planned. Training Tessa might be the greatest challenge to his own heart Nicolo's ever had.

Excerpt:

Nicolo reached a hand toward her. “Seduction is a slow process, Tessa, a process which begins with you. It begins in here.” He tapped her forehead. “Do you even know what your own body looks like?”

She moved, grateful for even a small space between them. “That’s ridiculous! Of course I know what I look like. I see myself every day.”

“Ah, but do you really see? How can you tempt a lover with a body you are not even aware of?”

Before she could protest, he swallowed up the small, safe distance. Strange sensations stirred within her, leaving her without the ability to form the words she knew she should be saying. Nicolo’s fingers untied the lace along her bodice. He slipped the thin scarf through his hand with a sensual caress that made her shiver. What would those fingers feel like against her skin? As his hand slid over her shoulder, his fingers nudged her dress down, letting the fabric glide to the top of her breasts. He leaned in close and for a moment she thought he might kiss her. Tessa wondered what his lips would feel like, what they would taste like.

Bio: Debra Doggett has been writing since childhood. Keeping stories in her head while raising three daughters, pursuing her BA in History and working as a museum professional has kept the writer inside her alive. She has also written, performed and directed for the stage, her second love.

#TuesdayTreasures Guest post by Vanessa D Werts

Good Morning and Welcome!

I hope your New Year celebrations were blessed, safe and happy.

Today we welcome a new-to-me author, Vanessa D Werts to share something she treasures.....

When I look at my two sons, sometimes my eyes water, remembering them as little boys. All they cared about and wanted back then was to eat, sleep, and play. Now that they are 25 and 17, I treasure the time I spent with them when they were kids, especially as I grow closer to being an empty nester.

Just the other day, I heard them laughing and it took me back to a time when their smiles would light up my world. Those little faces could bring calm and balance to my frazzled nerves after a hectic day at work and rush-hour traffic. Somehow my boys energized me, giving me a second wind to cook for them and hear about their day. Maybe it was hearing their silly jokes and random questions about the craziest things, that made me laugh and lightened my heart. Whatever the case, I treasure and often miss those times.

As I reflect on it all, I ask myself, where did the time go? When did their once smooth, baby faces become framed by a strong jawline that needs to be shaved? The deep voices belonging to men now, call me mom and I smile, shaking my head as I remember the former days. If I could turn back time, just for a day, to hold their small hands and feel that closeness, I would.

I’m so grateful for my sons. I will always treasure the memories of them as little boys and the joy they brought me in that time of my life.

Vanessa D. Werts is the author of both fiction and nonfiction books. She is a military veteran and minister with a calling to speak value and honor into the lives of women. Overcoming many obstacles in her own life such as daddy issues, sexual assault as a teen, infidelity in marriage, divorce, and being a single mom,  motivated Vanessa to be a champion for women achieving a positive self-image. Her primary purpose for writing is to encourage and inspire women to walk in their God-given right to be healed and whole. Find out more by visiting her website.

Vanessa's newest release, Lies and Love: Cleansing the Heart to Make Room for Radical Love is available at Amazon.

Hope you enjoyed today's Treasures and that you'll check back weekly for this year's lineup of great Tuesday Treasures, Thursday Thoughts and Saturday Spotlights!

Until next time, take care and God Bless.

#SaturdaySpotlight is on Jamila Battle

Good Morning!

Well here we are....hosting our last Saturday Spotlight in 2016. Today's guest is not new. Jamila Battle has shared Treasures and Thoughts with us within the last couple of months and today we're getting a closer look into her book, From Abuse to Abundance... .

My dad was a talented and charismatic jazz musician, who everyone loved. On the outside, my family’s life looked perfect. But what many didn’t realize is that we actually lived in a prison. The windows to our home had metal bars that were designed to keep me, my mother, brother and little sister caged in, along with our family’s deepest darkest secrets. Bars on the windows, the phones were tapped. We shared our house with rats and bats.
It wasn’t uncommon for me to be bound with duct tape and beaten with wire. I witnessed my mom get brutally beaten to a pulp and tied-up as my father smeared a dead rat over her limp body, to terrify her.
Enduring child abuse led to many other problems for me. After my abusive father fired a partially loaded gun at my head on a thankfully empty chamber, followed by his attempt to rape me, I finally called for help. I was removed from my home and was placed in one toxic foster home after another.Although I escaped 14 years of childhood abuse, it followed me and sapped my joy and creativity.
Decades later, I realized two things1.As a kid, I became an expert at living with abuse and addiction, hiding it, ignoring it and trying to cope with it on my own
2.As an adult, I later became a doctor and realized the importance of reaching out and discovered a great desire to help others overcome their pain of abuse and addiction to become happy, productive, healthy and drug free.
It was therapeutic to write and share my truth and the intimate bleeding story of what was going on in my head in hopes that others will better understand what they are going thru and those that they love.
My confessions have resonated with others facing similar emotional challenges and thus may give them hope and encouragement that they, too, can change their lives for the better. It is one of my deepest wishes to provide perspective for those who are suffering from trauma to help them create meaning and a new life.
Many struggle to speak their truth and paint the picture of what past memories are embed in their hearts. I want to help those bound by trauma turn their pain into promise and purpose thru confession, compassion, love and forgiveness by giving them a voice.
My determination to overcome it, the struggle with long-term effects of abuse, and finally getting my life of abundance, speaks volumes to the resilience of the human spirit to overcome tragedy. Now as a doctor, witnessing these terrible effects in our society, I have committed myself to do everything I can to lift and help repair those people.
Partly to heal myself and partly because I realized my mission, I focused my practice on the 4 pillars of health: sleep, diet and exercise, addiction and meditation.
It is my mission to not only increase functional awareness about abuse and addiction for those who suffer in silence by giving them a voice, but also raise this awareness for helping professionals, educators and parents.
Join me as I take you on a journey of Reboot, Repair, Rebirth, through this #1 Amazon Bestselling Book and healing guide, from Abuse to Abundance…
Dr. Jamila Battle's heroic journey from debilitating childhood violence and abuse to attending some of the finest institutions in our country and becoming a renowned physician is nothing short of miraculous. Her tenacious perseverance has been marked by depression and breakdown, yet she still rose to triumph, and created a narrative to guide those who wish to take control of their own destiny.
Dr. Battle, is an award winning triple board certified physician, author, speaker and creator of "Reboot, Repair, Rebirth®". This innovative model aids those who are suffering to forgive themselves, so they can become fully integrated and capable of self-love. Reboot your soul by speaking your truth and ending the isolation. Repair by getting help and consciously healing your mind, heart and body. Celebrate your Rebirth as a wiser, loving and centered being. Live life abundantly. Visit www.drjbattle.com to learn more.
Hope you enjoyed today's spotlight and that you'll return next week for more Tuesday Treasures, Thursday Thoughts and Saturday Spotlights.

Here's wishing you and yours the utmost of luck and God's blessings for a prosperous 2017!

Until next time, take care and God bless.

Special Spotlight: Annie's Heart by Barbara Edwards

Good Morning Friends,

Yesterday I mentioned that my scheduled guest was unable to visit due to a family emergency. Well, she may not be able to get here today either but I'm posting her book info anyway because she's giving YOU the opportunity to read this book FREE!

Annie’s Heart was the result of a dream I had about living on the Kansas plains after the Civil War ended. I researched the area and found the hardships settlers faced to be overwhelming. I was surprised so many not only survived, but thrived. Annie is a strong woman with too many problems, but she is a survivor.
I hope you take this opportunity to read about her.

Blurb:
Only two coins and a gold pendant heart separate widowed ANNIE MOSS from disaster. The fields need to be plowed, the barn repaired and food stored for the winter, but she is alone and afraid. Her dream of a home for her children hangs from the promise of a wandering man to keep moving on, a man she has no reason to trust.

TRACE RANDOLPH has lost everything except his honor, so when a desperate ANNIE saves his life he knows he must pay his debt, even if it means marrying her. The only promise he makes is to leave before the winter snows. A promise he finds impossible to keep.

Excerpt:
Trace wiped his forehead with the back of his hand and hefted another bundle of shingles onto his shoulder. The sweat dripped off him and he knew he smelled like an old goat. He wondered if Annie had noticed, or if he were the only one suffering from this itch. His mouth was parched and he made a note to purchase more mints when he visited town. A blister burned on his heel. And work shoes. His high-heeled boots weren’t designed for doing farm chores.

He planned on taking a quick dip in the creek later to wash away his ripe odor. The scent of lavender, light and delicate as the woman herself, filled his head. Annie stood behind him. He turned. She smiled and held out a dripping glass of water. Nodding his thanks, he swallowed the drink with pleasure. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and her blue eyes flicked from his fingers to his mouth.

"When do you expect to be done?"

A longing to touch her seared him like a hot poker. Trace jerked his gaze from her mouth to eye the rising sun and gathering clouds. He gauged the daylight hours left.

"Maybe by tonight. It looks like rain, and I hope to have it completed so you won’t be inconvenienced again."

Her fingers trembled slightly when she held out her hand for the empty glass. His gaze darted to her face. She blushed at his bold stare and stepped back.

"I’m sure I never implied--"

"No, you didn’t, but I have eyes in my head. You need your privacy. I intend to get Digger’s bunk ready as well as my own."

She blushed a color reminiscent of the climbing roses in his mother’s garden. He realized she was embarrassed by his reference to sleeping arrangements. He was enchanted by her sweet reaction. A woman so innocent shouldn’t be the mother of two children.

Her gaze dropped to the ground as she hugged the glass to her breasts. The dripping condensation soaked into the fabric. She didn’t notice the wet material clinging to her soft outline, but he did. Heat pulsed low in his groin. He longed to trace the outline of dampness with his mouth.

"I need to go into town. Would you like to come?" Trace didn’t know where the suggestion sprang from, but Annie’s eyes sparkled with anticipation, then dimmed.

"But we have chores to…"

"Let Digger do them," he interrupted.

She hesitated. Cackling laughter followed by a whoop of excitement broke the silence stretching between them. Annie gave him a shaky nod before heading back toward the house.

Trace cursed under his breath as he watched the sweet sway of her hips when she climbed the shallow steps to the porch. Annie was soft and curvy in all the right places. She cast him a quick glance before darting inside.

#TuesdayTreasures Christmas Memories to Treasure!

Good Morning!

Well Christmas is over and the New Year is less than a week away. What better treasures to share than Christmas Memories....

My daughter and son-in-law opened their brand new home and cooked our Christmas dinner.....Such a lovely gesture. I remember when we had these celebrations at my house but as with most families, changes happen, loved ones go to be with the Lord and the younger generation starts hosting these celebrations.
Who says family is always blood? One of the best gifts was a surprise visit from our 'extended family' from Henrietta, TX!
Hail, hail the gang's all here!

My dad, my honey, my children, grandchildren and our extended family!

And my most favorite...me, my daughter and my son.....
I AM incredibly Blessed!
Hope your Christmas was merry and bright and your New Year is Blessed beyond measure!
Thanks for stopping by.
Hope to see you later in the week (and each week) for Thursday Thoughts, Saturday Spotlight and Tuesday Treasures!
Until next time, take care and God bless. PamT

#SaturdaySpotlight is on Linda J Burson

Merry Christmas!

This photo says it all.....
No matter who you are are where you're at I pray your Christmas is Blessed!
We have a brand new (to me/us) author visiting so please welcome, Linda J Burson....
Linda is an author from Connecticut.
After years of writing and editing for others, raising a family, and over twenty years of running her own businesses, Linda decided to tackle her first fiction novel entitled Rage, which began as a single book. Eventually, the novel became a trilogy, and finally a much longer series. All the books are a part of The MarcySeries, a romantic suspense series.
Find out more about Linda at FacebookInstagram her Website Goodreads her Amazon Author Page & Twitter: @lindaburson23

Now let's find out about Linda's book....
Marcy and Brad’s marriage is back on track even with the major changes at play.

A new wedding is planned for New Year’s Eve. This wedding is a complete surprise to everyone, and an unexpected pregnancy may interfere.

The men in Marcy’s life become even closer, and a true bond is formed.
A Short, but Telling, Excerpt: The tears are pouring down my cheeks. I can’t believe this. This man was in  love with me from the moment he saw me, and he knew nothing about me.I understand it because I seemed to feel a sense about him from the beginning. I let him in my home late at night, a perfect stranger, but I felt it was all right. It’s like my soul was speaking to me as well. Maybe I’m as crazy as he is. What I don’t understand is if we were meant to be together, why did I meet Brad? Why am I in love with two men? I’m so confused. No wonder he doesn’t mind coming here and staying. This place is his sanctuary. It’s our place…a place where no one can take me away from him.More about The Marcy SeriesThe Marcy Series, which at this point includes: Rage, Confusion, Agony & Ecstasy, The Agreement, and Out of the Past, is a continuing story. It is a story about three people in particular and how their lives intertwine. There are many other characters involved with these three, but the focus remains on them throughout the entire series. It is an easy read, but it can be intense, as well as light-hearted. It is a love story, with a thriller/suspense aspect to it.
The story begins with our protagonist, Marcy Jensen, an independent, stubborn young woman, who runs her own bakery and coffee business. You find her full of rage and behaving irrationally. If you’ve ever experienced this type of anger, you may relate to Marcy and her problems; if not, you may not understand her. If this is the case, try to picture a moment in your life when you were the angriest that you can remember, and multiply it times a hundred. Maybe then you’ll have an idea of what this young woman is experiencing.
As the series continues, you come to learn more and more about Marcy’s life and why she behaves the way she does. Eventually, you meet her love interests, Brad Preston, a hard-working financial genius who works in the banking industry, and Liam Brooks, a retired ex-military hero who  understands Marcy’s anger better than anyone, and helps her deal with it by having her help him get revenge. Throw in their friends and family and you have a story of three people whose lives are confusing, intense, and passionate, but loving, warm, and lively as well.
This story is fiction, but there’s more realism to it than most of you may know. Hopefully, though, whether it touches you in a familiar way, or is completely out of your realm, I hope it takes you where you’re supposed to go—to another time and place and into other’s lives. I hope it brings you an escape for as long as you’re reading, and gives you what it gave me…a satisfying ending and closure after spending many hours with my favorite people: Marcy, Liam, Brad, and their friends and family--even when they annoyed me, made me laugh, cry, or roll my eyes.
There are currently six novels in the series.

#ThursdayThoughts Random Ramblings on R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Well Folks today is another of those random rambling days but today I DO have something to ramble about.....

R-E-S-P-E-C-T

We all know the song..."Find out what it means to me."

Personally I believe respect for others begins with SELF respect.

What am I rambling about, you ask.....

How can you respect anyone if you don't respect yourself?

If you have no pride in what you do or where you live or how you dress or conduct business?

Even if you DON'T respect yourself, it's not hard to respect others.

Here's a few ideas....

#1: Pick up after yourself (especially important living in a someone else's house!). Also important if you knock down something in a store, or a piece of clothing falls off the hanger as you put it back. Been trying on clothes? It may be OK to leave them in the dressing room, but PLEASE, not in a pile on the floor! Fold them neatly and leave them on the bench or chair or put them back on the hanger and the hanger on the hook!

I know people get paid to do this, but seriously folks....do you treat YOUR clothing that way?

#2: Turn off lights and make sure the doors are closed when you leave a room or house. This one is a given...right? Not necessarily, you'd be surprised at how many people 'forget' these simple basic manners.

#3: Respect your (and other people's) Time! Be on time or early but not late. Now I know things happen that are unavoidable and those instances are OK, but being habitually late is NOT Ok. It is rude and disrespectful of everyone else involved. If possible you should call or text the person who is waiting on you to let them know you're going to be late.

#4: Respect the silence. Turn your radio (or telephone, or alarm) down! Not everyone wants to hear the loud, banging noise or feel their car vibrate to YOUR music or hear your TV blaring all night or your alarm going off for 5 or 10 minutes and you not rousing enough to turn it off (and no, don't just hit the snooze button a million times - turn the darn thing off!) Why set it for 2 hours before you plan on getting out of bed anyway? UGH

#5: Be nice.... it's REALLY that simple. Just. Be. Nice. And. POLITE in your thoughts and in your words.

Not always easy I know, sometimes we bite our tongue but as our mamas and grandmothers used to say.... "If you can't say something nice, keep your mouth shut."

CONFESSION: I have to remind myself of this often.

#6: Be gracious, grateful and forgiving. Say please and Thank you. Show kindness and compassion wherever you go and to whomever you meet. No one is perfect and you don't know what someone may be going through.

#7: Respect boundaries. I'm not talking fences. Privacy, personal space, things told to you in confidence, and decisions of others are all forms of boundaries we should do our best not to cross.

If you've known me long or followed my blog you know I write with the aim of encouraging and uplifting. Today's post may not seem that way, but truly, if you think about it, should everyone practice these simple steps or keep in mind one word: Kindness, this world (over populated, crowded world) would be a much nicer and safer place.

Something to think about.
"Inspirational with an Edge!"

Hope you enjoyed today's post and you'll return each week for Tuesday Treasures, Thursday Thoughts and Saturday Spotlight.

Until next time, take care and God bless.
