Fake Truths. (The Creativity Explorer. Episode 93)

Never mind Fake News – when it comes to innovation we need to watch out for “Fake Truths”: i.e. beliefs that stops us from seeing the potential in new ideas because we falsely think that certain things will not change. What are some Fake Truths that were revealed in your industry? I would love to hear? What are the Fake Truths that we live with today that we will discard in the future? I am curious to what you think.Watch the video hereor on LinkedInFredrik Haren – The Creativity Explorer

ps. You might also like this article that I just published on Influence and Creativity as part of my series “The Creativity Suite”. Just seeing the origin of the word “influence” makes the text worth reading.

Find your “Studium” – Your reason for learning.

Studium is what I call the intersection between a) What you love b) What the market wants c) Where the trends are going.

To be successful tomorrow you today need to find your Studium. (Studium is Latin for “studying something with zeal and dedication/determination”.)

What is your Studium?

Who do you know who is in university now that needs to understand the power of finding their Studium.

Watch the video here

Or on youTube.

As always: If you have a creative idea of how we can help more people discover their full creative potential – through a speech, workshop, consulting, coaching or other collaboration, do reach out to me.

Fredrik Haren – The Creativity Explorer.

Why you should apply to Ideas Island. (The Creativity Explorer. Episode 92)

Did a video about why sitting on an island is good for your creativity, and about why you should apply to Ideas Island this year (before 15 feb). (Or if you want to be a good friend: Why you should tell your creative friend (who can travel to Stockholm this summer) to apply.

Do not miss the chance to stay on Ideas Island this summer. (Please only apply for 2021 if you really do think you will be able to travel to Sweden this summer considering the Covid restrictions in place this year.) Having said that: staying on an island to work on your ideas is a great place to spend your time during a pandemic! 🙂

The Inherent Power of Your Own Ideas.

Today my 5 year old daughter – who after multiple tries of trying to learn how to bike had yet not mastered it – came to me and said: “Papa, can we bike?”. I said “Of course!”

We went out on the lawn and in 5 minutes she had learned the art of riding a bike!

Then it hit me: This time it was HER idea, not mine.
All the previous times it was ME who said “Let’s go and try to learn how to bike.”

But today it was HER idea and she came to me and said “Can we bike?”

Lesson: When you do something because someone else had an idea we might do it great, with massive involvement, energy and gusto – but it will not be the same as when we decide to make one of our own ideas happen.

There seems to be an inherent energy that comes from making our own idea happen. Let’s use that extra energy – like a turbo button in a computer game – to push us further towards achieving our goals.

(I am curious: Have you ever felt that inherent energy giving you that extra power to reach your goal?)

Please leave your comments on YouTube or LinkedIn.

Stay safe and stay Creative.

When looking back, look for positives

As a person who is subscribing to the emails from The Creativity Explorer I want to wish you a GREAT 2021

I created this post on Linkedin about the need for looking for positives when we look back.

Creativity is fueled by a positive image of what the world could become. And a positive mindset about the future is helped by a positive mindset of the past!

I hope you find inspiration from this post about looking for the positives when reflecting on the year that past, from the perspective of a creativity speaker and author.

Keep exploring!

Fredrik Haren – The Creativity Explorer.

ps. I want to thank you for being on this journey where we venture out to learn more about human creativity to help us discover our own creative potential.

Creativity Resolution

In these times of resolutions I want to encourage you to make a couple of “Creativity Resolutions” for the year ahead.

We usually create resolutions around bad habits we want to stop doing (“quit smoking”, for example) or around a habit we hope will make us better people (“run 10 km per day”, for example)

Now, creativity is one of the most valuable skills you have as a human.

And having an idea – or seeing an idea become a reality – are both experiences that are some of the most enjoyable experiences that a human being can have.

So should we not then invest some commitment into having more and better ideas – and in making our best ideas happen?

A resolution is “a firm decision to do or not to do something”.

What is that one firm decision you are going to do in 2021 to make yourself more creative?

When is the next time you will fully commit yourself to one creative project that will make the rest of the world disappear for a while?

What will that project be about?

Watch the latest video in the Creativity Explorer series.

Let’s make 2021 a creative adventure!

Let’s explore the World of creativity together.

And let’s make this year the most creative year on record.

Fredrik Haren – The Creativity Explorer.

ps. As always: If you have any creative ideas on how you and I can work together to help more people discover their full creative potential, do let me know.
