Alex Austin's Nakamura Reality
I'm always glad when I see a fellow writer find success. Recently, Alex Austin's new book "Nakamura Reality" was reviewed by Publishers Weekly. You can read the starred review here: http://new.publishersweekly.com/978-1...
I haven't read the book yet, but I did read several chapters from an early draft. And even then I could see the start of a fantastic novel.
The one book of Alex's I have read from cover to cover was fantastic.
The book's name: The Red Album of Asbury Park Remixed.
My favorite paragraph from the book:
“If you aren't sure what you're playing, play it louder. One reporter on the local music scene called our sets “uninterrupted hallucinogenic masturbatory screams.” He liked the band. Not that I cared. I didn't play to please anyone. I just played, or maybe was played, hardly knowing at times whether I was a man or a guitar.”
Though I've never met Alex, I'd like to think of him as that mad guitarist, except with a pen.
