Well, November has arrived again and with it, some cooler temperatures and a lot of rain. But I’ve turned my thoughts from the weather and all things political and am focusing on my writing this month. Lots of exciting things going on! I just got word that my story, Somebody’s Miracle, is going to be featured on a Chicken Soup for the Soul podcast early next month. I’ll keep you posted.

I’ve wrapped up and sent out a couple of short pieces, as well as a not- so- short one (fingers crossed!) and I’ve embarked on this year’s NaNoWriMo journey. Anyone else? If so, how’s it going? I fell way short of my word count goal this week, but I managed to get down a solid first chapter and a semi-solid outline, so overall I’m feeling good.

I’d love to hear about your progress and I will try to update mine.

I went to a quilt show yesterday.

I love this artform. I love the way these quilters took the time to quietly comment on life’s simple pleasures with color and cloth.

Today I am going to challenge myself to focus on the positives. To not say one negative thing for the next twenty-four hours. To fill my mind and heart with lovely, beautiful things that make me happy.
