Talking Tuesday – Character Q&A With Bleu from the Eternal Mates Series

Welcome to another installment of Talking Tuesday!

Every Tuesday, I’ll either be answering questions myself, or posing questions to one of my characters from my paranormal romance books. All of these questions are submitted to me by my awesome readers at my Fang Club, a Facebook Group where I chat with my readers. Asking questions is exclusive to members of my Fang Club, so if you want to get in on the action, you’ll have to join the group.

This week, I had the task of posing questions to Bleu, the gruff, somewhat grumpy, but very devoted and loyal commander of the elf legions and aide to Prince Loren in my Eternal Mates Series. You can read Bleu’s romance in Possessed by a Dark Warrior, which now has the audio edition available!

Talking Tuesday with Bleu

Felicity: Welcome Bleu. I really hope you’re in a good mood today.

Bleu: *glowers*

Felicity: I was teasing. You always take things too seriously. Thanks for taking time out of your schedule to come and answer some questions from my readers.

Bleu: Prince Loren said I had to do it.

Felicity: Don’t pretend you don’t like the ego petting. You love it. *grins*

Bleu: Get on with it then.

Felicity: *huffs* I don’t know what they see in you. Personally I prefer Vail. *weathers a growl* Whatever. I love him.

Bleu: I wouldn’t let Rosalind hear you say that.

Felicity: Let’s just keep it between you and me then. I have a question from a reader about Vail actually. Let me see… Diana Dimitrova wants to know if you think you will find the strength to forgive Vail and will start clean with him?

Bleu: *sighs* I have forgiven Vail, but I’m not sure a clean start is possible. Neither of us can forget the things that happened, or the battles we fought against each other. But, we are trying to move past our history, and move forwards.

Felicity: Very noble of you. I know it has been difficult for you. Kirsty Hatto really wants to know whether the rivalry between you and Thorne has finally calmed down now you have your own leading lady?

Bleu: *grimaces* I knew someone would bring that up. I should have asked to vet the questions before we began. *sighs again* A little. Thorne still doesn’t trust me, but I suppose that is to be expected.

Felicity: You were a bit of an arse to him.

Bleu: *glares* As if I need the reminder? Still, like all damned relationships in my life, we are moving past our bad blood. I think one day he will be able to be in the same room as me and Sable and not want to rip my spine out.

Felicity: Nice imagery. Thanks for that. Speaking of leading ladies, Mandy Webb asked how Taryn deals with your relationship with Sable?

Bleu: She wants to rip Sable’s spine out. I’m joking. I can joke too. Taryn is a little… possessive… and the two did come to blows once, but me and Thorne broke them up. It was a refreshing change, and I think it helped me and Thorne take that first step on the road to growing to like each other. We bonded over our females fighting. It really was a glorious sight.

Felicity: So you’re into cat fights. Got it. Perverts.

Bleu: *scowls*

Felicity: Natalie Muir had a few questions, and one is about Taryn meeting the other people in your life. Has she met Iolanthe yet?

Bleu: Of course. Io loves her. Io loves any female who kicks arse and even tried to get her to offer up some blood so she could have a go at being a dragon. The two of them get along a little too well. I don’t think it will be long before Io’s talk of ‘treasure’ lures Taryn off on some wild goose chase with her.

Felicity: Well, you and Kyter can go save them. You know you miss getting your sister out of scrapes. Natalie also wanted to know whether you secretly – or not so secretly! – like having Kyter as a brother-in-law?

Bleu: *leans back in chair* I guess… it’s alright. He’s a good male, and we get along, although I can find his sense of humour trying… and don’t get me started on the ruckus he caused when he met my parents.

Felicity: I want to get you started on that. It sounds interesting.

Bleu: *pretends to lock his lips together and throw away the key* Io would kill me for mentioning it. I’ll just say they should have locked the door as I locked my lips.

Felicity: Sounds saucy. Final question from Natalie… did you always want to serve in the elf army or did you have something else you would have liked to have pursued?

Bleu: Always wanted to serve. It was serve, or farm, and I was never cut out for a quiet life farming. I’d watch the soldiers passing through the village and long to go where they were heading, wanting adventure.

Felicity: You certainly got it, landing a job as aide to your prince. Chantal Robson had a question about Loren. Do you think it’s about time he became a king?

Bleu: No. It will never happen. Loren vowed to share the kingdom with Vail, ruling it as two princes, and he will stick to that. The kingdom is used to it now, and I think ruling as a prince gives Loren hope that maybe one day Vail can come and take his place at his side again. One day.

Felicity: When the council are all dead and buried. *grins* Final question comes from Julie Walsh who wants to know your opinion about Archangel being in your part of the world and whether you’re worried they’ll kidnap Taryn and take her to the mortal realm?

Bleu: *scowls* As if they would dare. Neither myself, nor my prince, like the turn the hunter organisation has taken, and we are keeping a close eye on them, using spies in the mortal realm to track their movements. Reports are grim, but while there seems to be a group within Archangel who are acting against the creed of the organisation, the rest of it still works to maintain peace with non-humans and only deals with immortals who are dangerous to the mortals. I would not all them near Taryn though. I no longer trust anyone from that place, and neither does Olivia. It has caused her great distress.

Felicity: I can understand that. She worked for them for a long time, and it must be hard for her. Wow. I think that’s all the questions, so all that’s left is for me to say thank you, and I’m sure my readers will enjoy this interview as much as I have.

Bleu: Thank you for having me. Now if you don’t mind. *disappears*

Felicity: No guesses for where he’s of to now we’ve pressed his buttons about Taryn. I imagine she’s getting a big smooch right now.

Manday Hotties – House Chores Made Sexy!

Autumn is really setting in now, and every day my lawn gains more leaves, and then I rake them, and then within seconds the leaves are back. It’s a constant fight! I think I need a hottie to do my gardening and house chores for me… so I’ve gathered…

Someone to help me with the damned leaves…

Someone to clear out my garage for me…

Someone to cook for me…

And someone to take care of all those odd jobs piling up!

WIP Wednesday – Inspiration strikes in the strangest places!

I’ve been making slow progress this last week on Unchained by a Forbidden Love, Fuery and Shaia’s book in the Eternal Mates series.

I hit another stumbling block that saw me grind to a halt. Something just wasn’t right and it was slowing me down. I wasn’t sure what it was…

Until I was in the shower this morning, and I thought about the scene I had become stuck on, and realised it needed changing. And then, I realised I needed to tweak some other things in the remaining chapters in order to make them work. I wasn’t sure about the story from this point forwards anyway, something felt off about it, just not quite right… but as I began thinking about it, it all sort of fell into place in a way it had refused to do before.

So rather than writing more for the book today, I’ve been revising the outline, moving things around, removing some stuff, and layering the new stuff in to make it all work with the plan that came to me this morning in the shower.

I’m feeling much better about the book now, and it’s finally feeling right, like this was the way it was always meant to be and I just got muddled somewhere and wrote it wrong the first time around. I can finally see the light, which is more than we can say for the hero, Fuery

I had really wanted to get the book completed in first draft this week, but I still have another 10 chapters to write, so I’m thinking it’s going to be done by end of next week, and then I’ll move on to editing it.

I also have an update for my audio books! I’ve completed my check of Awakened by a Demoness, and once the final edits are back from my narrator, I’ll be ready to hit the go button on this audio book and it will be in stores a couple of weeks later. I’m thinking it will be available at the end of the month. I’m about to start listening through Haunted by the King of Death, and my awesome narrator has already begun work on Turned by a Tiger. It’s all go!

In the meantime, Possessed by a Dark Warrior is now available and I’ll be updating my website with links for the audio book as they become available. Yay!

Talking Tuesday – Character Q&A With Antoine from the Vampire Erotic Theatre Series

This week, I had the task of posing questions to Antoine, one of the managers at Vampirerotique, a vampire theatre in the heart of London and the central focus of my Vampire Erotic Theatre Series. You can read Antoine’s romance in Seduce.

Talking Tuesday with Antoine

Felicity: Hi Antoine! It’s great to sit down and chat with you again. The last time we saw you was in your cousin’s book, Haunted by the King of Death, in the Eternal Mates series and you certainly had your hands full! Are you ready to answer some questions from your loyal fans?

Antoine: Of course. I do have a few minutes to spare before Sera drags me out of my office for the day. *shuffles papers on his desk around and sets them aside*

Felicity: Awesome. Thank you. The first question I have is from Kirsty Hatto, who wants to know how the children are behaving and whether they’re causing chaos?

Antoine: *smiles grimly* Callum’s twins are reaching a difficult age, and we feel it won’t be long before the little wolf shifts into a cub for the first time. *shakes head* I cannot imagine the chaos that will cause. She has a mischievous streak.

Felicity: And what about your own kid?

Antoine: Oh, it will be a while before Helena can cause trouble… although she is tiring her mother out somewhat. Snow has been gracious enough to take her off our hands from time to time so we can relax for an evening, but I admit, I am enjoying being a father.

Felicity: Well, you’ve been playing a fatherly role to Snow for a while, and he can be trouble, so Helena is probably a little angel in comparison. Speaking of Snow, Kristel Armbrecht Jaramillo would like to know whether you’re okay with someone else being in charge of Snow 24/7?

Antoine: *laughs* I still have a duty to my brother, and I often end up taking care of him together with Aurora when he’s having a difficult night, but to be honest, he is taking care of himself more than I or Aurora are taking care of him. He’s much improved. I have Aurora to thank for that.

Felicity: It must be a relief.

Antoine: *nods* Of course. I hate seeing my brother tormented by his past and his bloodlust.

Felicity: Mandy Webb had a question about that past you share, and wanted to know if you could live your life over, what would you change and what would you keep the same?

Antoine: *frowns* That’s a rather difficult question. Of course, I would like to change some things in my past, such as the fact I wasn’t there when Snow needed me most. I still feel that I failed him, and therefore our family. I would change that night in a heartbeat… as for what I would keep the same. Well, our lives now, at the theatre. I wouldn’t change anything that might jeopardise having Sera in my life, and Aurora in Snow’s life, or having the people at the theatre in my life. They are my family now.

Felicity: While we’re on the topic of family, Brenda Lee Moreno would love to know whether Snow and Aurora will ever have children?

Antoine: I hope so. I honestly do. We still aren’t sure that it is possible, but if it is, I would dearly love for it to happen. Snow would be a wonderful father. Anyone who has seen him with the twins, or with Helena, can vouch for that. He worries still that he will harm them, but when I see him with them, I know it will never happen. He loves them too much.

Felicity: I think I can hear Sera coming to claim you and drag you to bed, so I won’t keep you any longer. It’s been great catching up with you, and thank you for answering our questions.

Antoine: *smiles* Not a problem. I expect I will be seeing you again soon. I’m sure you will be gathering questions for my brother at some point.

Felicity: I would get lynched if he didn’t get his shot in the spotlight!

Manday Hotties – Goodbye Summer Sun!

The weather is turning colder, and the leaves are all changing colour. I’m having to rake them off my lawn every few days as the trees begin to shed them. The days are even growing shorter, and the weather is gloomy, so I’m missing the summer sunshine… and dreaming of better days.

So, here’s some hunks that make me think of summer fun in the sun…

WIP Wednesday – Unchained by a Forbidden Love Update

I took a break from writing Unchained by a Forbidden Love to treat myself to a little Staycation back in September, but now I’m back at it and I’m making progress on Fuery and Shaia’s book in the Eternal Mates series.

Progress is slower than I would like, and I’ve been struggling a little. Sometimes, it’s hard for an author to constantly pump out words. I like to think of my creativity as a sort of tank. When it’s full, I have the fuel to go wild and go fast, and words flow effortlessly onto the page. When it’s empty, I find myself fighting for each word, and the energy to put them on the page.

With Fuery’s book, my tank is fluctuating between full and empty so quickly it’s dizzying! On Monday, I managed to hit my quota of 6000 words, bringing Unchained by a Forbidden Love up to 55,000 words in total and leaving me with 12 chapters to write. Yesterday was my day off. Today, I’m staring at the page where I left off and trying to muster some energy, a little bit of fuel in that tank, just enough to get my going.

My mind is all over the place right now, which isn’t helping. I’m not talking about the writerly things I have to do, like putting my newsletter together or checking the audio edition of Awakened by a Demoness. I’m talking, planting spring bulbs in my garden because the weather looks like it will stay dry and I have a stack of bulbs that need to go in ASAP, or planning our vacation to Canada that will be happening next spring/summer to celebrate my 40th (I’ve dreamed of going to Canada since I was small). It’s all there, tempting me to ignore that line in my planner that says I should write 6000 words on Unchained by a Forbidden Love today.

I’m sure you’re all familiar with real life getting in the way of doing the things you want to do / should be doing!

I think getting this blog post ticked off my list will help, but I feel finding my focus today is going to be a fight. I’ll find it somehow though, even if it’s only enough to write a couple thousand words.

Hopefully by my next WIP Wednesday post, I’ll be able to say I’m now at 80,000 words done…

This week, I’m still thinking about heroes from my Eternal Mates series of paranormal romance books.

This time, it’s Bleu on my mind. I’m thinking about him today because I just hit the big old approve button on the audio book version of story Possessed by a Dark Warrior. My narrator has done an amazing job on this one, and you’re going to LOVE it!

Manday Hotties – A little bit of Fuery

We all need a little inspiration, and I always used to love posting my Manday Hotties every Monday, so I’m bringing it back whenever I have the time, which will hopefully be every week! Some weeks, I’ll focus on character inspiration, and other weeks I’ll do celebrity specials or themes.

This week, I’m thinking Fuery. He’s on my mind every day at the moment as I’m writing his book, UNCHAINED BY A FORBIDDEN LOVE, in the Eternal Mates series. I like to think that if these hot hunks had longer hair, they would be the perfect candidate to play Fuery, my dark and dangerous elf.

These hotties have the perfect build for Fuery, and the right looks, and even the dark hair. They just need it a little longer, and those ears a little pointier!
