I had just finished writing a scene for Into Light where my characters were traveling through the woods on the remains of Interstate 70 through the Colorado mountains. Then I headed out on a trip with my kids that sent us driving along that same stretch of road. The bad news...

Yep, it's really bad news. I've been hard at work on Into Light for the last six months and I was literally two chapters away from finishing the first draft when I had a massive computer crash. Four different computer techs later, I received the news that the computer was irreparably dead and only a very few files were able to be recovered. Poppy is back in Goodland, preparing to confront Cruz and his co-conspirators. Right now she's looking pensively over the night skyline... I picture it as something like this.
