Homeland Security Investigations lined up a spec ops delivery to Vieques today, we went over on two US Army landing craft...it was freaking awesome. Feel so blessed to meet such amazing people and have such crazy fun opportunities to serve. I don't smile like this when I'm not on a disaster service mission! #SalvationArmy

Seriously one of the best weekends ever meeting and serving with @tonynorthrup and @chelsea_northrup in Puerto Rico! They are two of the most genuine, kind, hardworking and caring people you will ever meet and they are both really, really good at disaster aid work! Thank you so much to the both of you and the many others who supported or will support the water filter fundraiser (link in profile) #SalvationArmy #puertorico

Your donations in action! We delivered 70 filters (42,000 gallons worth of water) to a natural water oasis, which the locals knew they should not drink from, but many admitted they had been. When we initially handed them out many were still skeptical it was safe, so Chelsea and I demonstrated how they worked and then drank from them, showing they did indeed provide safe, clean water. @tonynorthrup was there to capture the moment on his #d850 I love the expressions on their faces. It's my one of my favorite pictures ever! Thank you everyone who contributed to make this program happen! #puertoricostrong

This is what it is all about. There is a nick name here for those who are hard to reach called "the forgottens"- it includes those who cannot be easily reached, or those who cannot physically walk to distribution points. Our teams have adapted how we deliver using the guidance of locals to identify where they are and how to reach them. Dee, a member of our team spent a moment with Rebecca during our delivery to an area in Toa Baja, and I used it as a reminder that yes, sometimes the harder deliveries are worth it, and they will soon be not forgotten. #SalvationArmy #UPS #puertorico

I'm so inspired by Tony & Chelsea Northrup who have arrived in Puerto Rico to help distribute the water filters they donated from the fundraiser they are running. Since arriving, they got to work and re-created the instructional handout on how to use it (tony is a technical author & also took the new pics) and it is at least 10x clearer than the one that came with it. I'm excited to take them out in the field tomorrow on a distribution and hopefully get them in the hands of those who need it most. Really amazing to me to see how passionate and dedicated they are to the cause. It's extremely rare & such a great example! #puertoricostrong
