START YOUR ENGINES!
Days to Book Launch: 28
Days to BEA in NYC: 14
Alright, everyone checked into work, looked over email, and settled in? Are all kids safely deposited at school and carpools returned home?
Then let the fun begin!
Before that, though, one quick disclaimer: People have asked me if it's going to be Rhea trivia on this site all month and the answer is NO. There might be a few questions pertaining to Rhea and very likely based in other books, but the questions will be actual trivia that anyone can answe...

I'm Typing as Fast as I Can! *pant-pant* I Swear!
So my first book comes out in June. That book is finished and to the press.
My second book is due out in August... that one is not finished nor to the press.
To the writers of the world, I offer this advice: do not release two books two months apart. Releasing 4 in 6 months? I'm pretty sure that's insanity, but oh well! It means that 2010 will NOT be a boring year for me!
So, if I don't answer my phone or get back to personal emails, sowwy :(
But Margot, if you notice me missing your birthday par...

Getting Away With It 101
Getting Away With It 101: If there's cameras, they will find you.It seems intuitive, but some lawbreakers missed the memo.
Even less intuitive is this rule: drive a car where you can afford the gas, because as long as we're running on oil, prices are going to be as high as they want to be, whenever they want to be. This poor truck owner needs over $100 to fill up.
Ouch.
But still, not a reason to fill up your tank, leave without paying, and run over the employee on the way out. To this man's cre...

Zune... I think I'm going to do it...
I bought my iPod for my trek to Alaska-- as 45-hour drive. The little music player and I enjoyed a tepid relationship until I left it on a plane after returning to SLC from New York.Leaving $250 on a plane sucks.
So why am I setting myself up for a repeat performance. This time it's with an HD Zune. I don't WANT to spend that much money on music, but I'm kind of sick of being held hostage to whatever the radio station feels like playing. Songs I used to find brainless and insulting, I now bob ...

LDS Story Makers
This weekend I had the pleasure of going to the LDS Story Maker's Conference, a two-day conference held at the Provo Marriott with nearly 500 attendants.
I had no idea it was that big!
Classes were taught by seasoned authors, New York agents (Laura Rennert and Nephele Tempest), and an editor from Random House. I showed up too late to the game to sneak a pitch session or enter any of the contests, but I did get to meet writers I've only known online. And the best part? They're all finding succes...

City of Angels, Chapter 1
Chapter 1 of City of Angels, released June 7, 2010
A joyful sob mingled with the happy chatter of birds in the outdoor restaurant. "Yes!" the woman three tables down on my right cried out, just before leaning to drop a kiss on the man kneeling before her. The proposal and acceptance earned a gentle clap from older couples at surrounding tables.
Ah, romance. Something about it brought people together in ways that bank teller lines, traffic jams, and cramped movie theaters couldn't hold a candle ...
