Two great books on china
I got great company during my long flight home – Ian Johnsons new book on religion the Souls of China and Pomfrets book on US – China relations. Ian’s book has already been billed as the most anticipated china book of 2017!

Musical the great comet
Last night, a theater producer friend kindly took me to see musical The Great Comet, inspired by Tolstoy’s master piece War and Peace. Fabulous! What made the experience so memorable was the fact that our seats were on the stage – designed this way so that the audience on stage could fully enjoy the interactive experience!

My event at B&N
My event at B&N bookstore last night was a grand success, with a big turnout. I turned out to be a great reunion with old China gang. My thanks to Barbara Demick for moderating the event, Carolyn from Holt for organizing it, To BCNY and other friends for supporting it!
