English, ain't it a bitch?
My mother drummed her ideas of right and wrong, correct and incorrect, into my head when I was a child. Or tried to. Some took. Some didn't. One of the things that did take was never use the word ain't. To this day, I have a problem using it in my writing, even when its the right word to use. I can use the four letter words easier than I can use ain't. So I had to chuckle when an English teacher who was kind enough to beta read for me, changed my isn't to ain't. I'm going to have to break old habits. If it's good enough for an English teacher, it's good enough for me:)
Flowers, just not from the garden.
AND....Thanks t
o the lovely and talented author Jacqui Murray for giving ThunderTree its first review. Much appreciated.
I'm looking forward to reading The Quest for Home, Book 2 in her prehistoric trilogy when it comes out in October. I read the first one and was completely pulled into the story. The characters were well-developed and the world building amazing. I can't imagine the countless hours that went into research. If you are interested in prehistoric history, I highly recommend Survival of the Fittest.

Did You Know

Did you know that Boji Stones were first discovered in Kansas? Some people think they were left by aliens, some people think they are parts of meteorites. They are sold in pairs. The male is a rough textured stone. And the female is a smooth textured stone. They supposedly have so much energy, some people have compared them to holding jumping beans.

The grand nephew. With that cap, doesn't he look like he should be hanging out with Sean Connery?

Did You Know

Did you know George Washington had his slaves and his men in the Revolutionary army vaccinated for smallpox? This was done by running a thread through the pustule then inserting it under the skin of the individual being inoculated.

Magic At Midnight

I'm pleased to be able to share in the release of Magic At Midnight.
I read and reviewed this gem:
I loved this story. I think anyone with a passion for horses and/or mythology will enjoy it. I was touched that the dedication included her horses. This novella takes an old theme and adds a new twist, along with its own unique storyline.
Amy lives on a farm and cares for the winged-horses to which she has a strange affinity. Besides this affinity she has magical abilities which she's learned to hide. Her entire world is turned upside down when a stranger shows up at the farm and whisks her away to a castle where danger and intrigue abound. Amy must keep her wits about her to save the kingdom, herself and her beloved pegasi. I recommend this lovely read.

BETRAYAL.
CONSPIRACIES.
MAGIC.
Amy has only known one life. Now she needs to put it all on the line to save what is precious to her. Can this simple farm girl survive court-life? Can she stop a war from burning down her world? And what of themysterious princess of Hazel Wood and her covert glances…? Not to mention the prince of Acacia Wood who might or might not be involved with the prophecies ruling their kingdoms. With mysteries and secrets threatening the life she longs to return to, can she separate her feelings from the mission?
TO WHAT LENGTHS WILL SHE GO TO SAVE HER LOVED-ONES?
