Why is the dog here?
Because the cat is here:)
And yes that is plastic on the couch. It keeps a certain Monster Kitty that shall remain nameless from clawing at it.
AND...A friend of ours--a sassy, spunky Southern gal who shall also remain nameless--recently broke up with her significant other because he was around too much. He was 'there when she left and there when she got back'. We got quite a kick out of this since that's what most folks are looking for in a relationship. Someone that is there. Any-hoo, the HH was leaving for his tutoring gig and told me he'd probably be home around six. I said, "I'll probably be here."And he said, "You're here when I leave and you're here when I get back."

Did You Know
Did you know, Mary Higgins Clark, who recently died at age ninety-two, was thought to be the first author who received an eight figure contract?
She continued to write to nearly till the end of her life. I find that very inspiring and hope the same can be said of me when I pass. RIP Mary Higgins Clark.

Frank Houdini strikes again.
He pulled out this grate that is inside the fenced in area.
And pushed out this grate, outside of the fence, and made his escape.
That little kitty brain is always working.
Short and sweet today. What's going on at your place? Do you have any Houdinis?

Did You Know
Did you know, Abigail Adams was quite the women's libber and urged her husband to 'remember the ladies' when making laws and not to put 'unlimited power into the hands of husbands.'
Information gleaned from JOHN ADAMS by David McCullough.

IWSG Wednesday
The first Wednesday of every month is officially IWSG day. Members post about their doubts and fears, discuss struggles and triumphs, and offer words of encouragement to others who are struggling.
Thanks, as always, to Alex Cavanaugh, founder and Ninja Captain extraordinaire and our awesome co-hosts.
The IWSG monthly question can be found under the IWSG Sign-up tab on the Insecure Writer's Support Group Blog.
This month's reviews:
MOMENTS WE LOVE by Balroop SinghPoignant is the best word I can use to describe this author’s writing. She writes evocatively about the feelings locked up inside of us. Some we set free. Some we don’t. Her verses on nature are delicate and precise enough to feel the warmth of the sun or a breeze teasing your face. If you enjoy poetry or just need to unwind, I highly recommend this author and her writing.

DEADLY VINTAGE by Elizabeth VaradanFun and Fascinating
The author took a fascinating subject—wine forgery—and turned it into a fun, and just as fascinating, mystery. Carla Bass, an interior decorator, finds herself smack dab in the middle of a murder investigation when on an outing to a local wine shop in lovely Braga, Portugal she discovers a body. In spite of strident protests from the local police and her husband, Carla’s sleuthing genes kick in. Not only does Carla have a nose for murder, she also has a weakness for shoes. A combination that makes for a delightful protagonist.
If you enjoy a light-hearted, well-written cozy with beautiful detail, I recommend you try this book.

BRIGHTNESS by Rob HornerThis book is outside my normal genres, but I’m so glad I read it. It was extremely well-written and held my interest from start to finish. The storyline is about parents who learn their children are special, and are on the front line of the fight against evil, and what they as parents must do to keep them safe. The father while trying to protect his oldest daughter makes one mistake after another before he discovers how to fight the forces working against them.
Not only will parents be able to relate to this work, but those that love thrillers will no doubt be as hooked as I was.
Best of all… I discovered a new North Carolina author.

Tuesday
Tuesday's ketchups and updates.
As you know we spent a couple of days in Tampa after the bro had his transplant.
This is the view from one of my brother's rooms. As to be expected, he has been shuffled in and out of several rooms. ICU, etc.
Beautiful, hey?
We were home four days then headed for Greenville to watch the kids for a week while the baby's parents flew him to Memphis to have his surgery. Meet their cat Wally or Waldo as I call him.
AND now we are home! Feels so good.I was happy to see the hellebores flourishing
AND...
For the foodies out there. Stopped for lunch at La Patisserie. I had the peanut butter toast with bananas, strawberries and ____ fill in the blank seeds, because I don't remember:) Surely, not a senior moment. Heh.
AND...Just for fun. What's Your Dragon Name?
Mine is: Raorub. It's a letter short since I only have 3 letters in my last name:)
So blogger buds, what did you do last week? Anything exciting you'd like to share? What's your dragon name?
