(Part IV)The OTK Segment
Over-the-knee (OTK) spankings are kind of the default for
hand spankings, both in spank porn and in real play. When I first got into
spanking play I tended to associate it with Daddy/Son, Authority/Miscreant
play that I wasn’t really into. I was into paddles. I was into frat boys and
bullies. I saw some really good OTK spankings, but nothing that really made me
rethink it as a default, kind-of-boring position.This OTK session changed my mind, and it has since become
one of my favorite positions, especially when I discovered that small hand
paddles were much preferable to big, thick frat paddles if you wanted to have a
long punishment scene. I have not recreated this scene, but I want to try (I do have a couple of sturdy barstools at home. Hmmm….)This whole scene starts pretty conventionally and frankly
looks like it’s going to be a bore at first. Vinnie vaguely mentions that Rob
is screwing up in some undefined way (kind of reinforcing the idea that Vinnie
just wants to spank him). Rob whines, “not again,” which tells us
that Rob gets spanked frequently by Vinnie. That makes Rob’s squirming all the
more interesting. This was not a surprise to him, and yet he still resists.At first Vinnie just bends Rob over a barstool, pulls down
Rob’s shorts and starts spanking. It is not an interesting or flattering view
of the smacks or Rob’s ass, frankly. Rob is just a passive recipient of the
spanking at this point (and this is the only point where that’s the case).Then Rob whimpers, “You’re such a fucking asshole! Who
do you think you are, man?” And then everything turns awesome.Vinnie grabs Rob and picks him physically up like he’s a gym
bag. Then Vinnie plops down onto the barstool and sets Rob down on his lap,
while Rob complains about being “too old” to be put over Vinnie’s
knee. And then the spanking begins again.So, let’s go over the things that make this such a great OTK
segment. There is nothing around this barstool. Rob has no flat surfaces to
relax on other than the lap of his tormenter. He is too far off the ground to
rest his feet or hands on the ground. He does not have a state where he can
“relax” and submit. He’s in a kind of precarious position while he’s being
punished. He’s bracing his upper body sometimes by grabbing onto the barstool
base. His legs are just flailng around occasionally.This position prevents Rob from being a “passive”
bottom. He doesn’t have the option to just lay there and be spanked, because
there’s nothing to “lay” on. Not only does he have to deal with
getting spanked, he has to play a role in trying to maintain some sort of
balance while he squirms and tries to escape.The other great thing that happens is because Rob’s upper
torso has nothing to rest on, it ends up pushing forward toward the floor,
particularly when he’s bracing his hands on the legs of the barstool. This has
a lever effect, causing his ass to raise upward. I love this part the most.
When guys get spanked, and they resist, often what happens is they squeeze
their legs and cheeks together (we’ll see this later in the paddling scene) and
try to push further away from their tormenter. Because of the lever effect of
this unsupported OTK scene, whenever Rob resists or moves around, the exact
opposite happens. His head and torso go down forward and his ass actually
raises up, showing more roundness, providing both a better spanking target for
Vinnie and a much better, sexier view for those of us watching from home.None of Rob’s struggles are able to stop the spanking. He
tries to protect his ass with a hand, but Vinnie grabs it and pushes it away.
Rob’s lack of leverage in his position keeps him from trying this too
frequently. He needs his hands to brace himself on the barstool. Vinnie
occasionally smiles and chews on his gum as he torments Rob’s quivering butt.
He even switches hands sometimes for variety.My only complaint about this spanking is that I wish it went
on longer. It takes up only about 4 minutes of the 14-minute video. For some
reason I recall the hand spanking being longer than that. There are some
visible edits. Maybe I saw a different, longer version. It never gets boring to watch, as some long spankings sometimes do.Rob forces an escalation by calling Vinnie a jerkoff,
prompting Vinnie to really start laying into him. That’s another consistent
behavior in this scene. Rob whines and squirms and then calls Vinnie a name. Then
he ends up getting punished even harder for it. Then Rob starts squirming even
harder, making the scene even hotter and emphasizing Vinnie’s control over Rob.Finally, Vinnie lets Rob back on his feet and it looks like
the punishment is over. Then Rob calls Vinnie “a motherfucking
asshole.” Somebody hasn’t learned who’s in charge.For Part V: Bring on the Paddle!

(Part V)The Paddling
So at around this time in spanking videos, paddlings were
either of a pretty decent length but fairly tame (no harder than a hand
spanking, honestly) or they were actual hard paddlings that were short, because
the often inexperienced bottom couldn’t take as much. Nowadays we have amateur
videos by CP enthusiasts that give us a much greater variety of implements and intensities. Back
then, not quite so much. (Don’t know where to find indie spanking videos for purchase? Check out the Clips4Sale M/M spanking category.)What makes this paddling stands out is how it sits between
these two options. Rob is about to get seven solid minutes of paddling. I
casually counted out about 200 swats. That is actually quite a lot. It’s longer
than the hand-spanking scene. These are not lightweight swats by any means, but
they’re not as vicious as they could have been. Part of the reason is that Vinnie’s
paddle technique is not the best. He clutches the paddle in a big fist and
swings it like a hammer. Good paddling is mostly in the wrist and forearm, not the biceps.
But that’s okay – the result is that Vinnie’s swats are less powerful than they
could have been, and that allows the scene to last as long as it does. If
Vinnie were a better paddler, this whole scene probably would have had to have
been much shorter. And this doesn’t mean Vinnie isn’t tearing up Rob’s ass. He
clearly is and the marks at the end prove it.This part of the scene starts with Vinnie ordering Rob to
stay where he is as he goes and grabs the paddle to wail on his ass. Despite
the barest attempt at a frat scene, it is not a frat paddle (as much as I love
frat paddles, they generally are not good for porn or inexperienced bottoms).
It is, however, a decently thick hardwood paddle that clearly has the ability
to pack a really good sting. It is not thick enough to bruise, but it is more
intense than the ping pong paddles or leather paddles that were typically being
used around this time.Though Rob has been spanked by Vinnie before, this scene
suggests that this is the first time Vinnie has taken the paddle to him, and
Rob is appropriately nervous as he begs not to be paddled. Vinnie instead grabs
Rob by the shirt and pulls him over to a chair, then forcefully pushes Rob over
into a paddling position, bent over with his ass up. Vinnie pulls Rob’s shorts
back down, and without saying anything to Rob at all in response to his pleading,
starts paddling his ass again.It’s hard to really show how this paddling plays out in
screenshots. It really calls for animated gifs, and I have no idea how to do
that. Rob does not passively accept this punishment any more than he accepted
the OTK spanking. But now he actually does have some physical leverage to push
back. His feet are on the ground. It’s only Vinnie’s strength that’s forcing
him to bend over. So Rob really, really squirms and struggles and bounces and
hops around wonderfully as he is paddled. There is no mistaking the fact that
these swats do actually sting. Some of Vinnie’s swats are not particularly
good, but I’d say at least three out of four swats hit Rob’s ass firmly.Rob’s responses feel really natural. His pained reactions
are accurate. His bouncing, quivering bottom indicates real punishment. All in
all, this scene very naturally plays out the fantasy of what it would look like
for a guy to be paddled by a stronger man and, despite his best efforts, is
unable to stop the punishment. Occasionally Rob overcomes Vinnie’s strength
briefly to stand up or get out position. Vinnie’s response is to grab Rob and
push him right back down for more punishment. It’s incredibly hot for anybody
who fantasizes about the bully top. It is very clear that no matter what Rob
says or does, the paddling is not going to end until Vinnie lets it end.I’ve never seen anybody in a spanking movie react to a
paddling like this. You know when somebody bites into something hot and reacts
by fanning his or her face in some vain effort to cool it off? Rob frequently attempts to do something like
that with his ass. He bounces around clearly trying to shake the stinging pain
off. It is just a wonderful, sexy, and real response. This is exactly how guys
without a whole lot of paddle experience react, and it’s great to see it
captured on film.The other great thing about Rob’s struggling is when he
asserts himself by standing up, you may think the first time that this
indicates when the paddling is going to end. But no, Vinnie pushes him back
down. This happens several times, so the first time you watch this movie, you
actually can’t predict when the punishment will actually end. In my previous
posts I suggested that this movie, intentionally or not, appeals to the
fantasies of bottoms as much as to tops. This is an example of that. The first
time watching this scene, the audience is in the same position as Rob. We can’t
tell through typical cues when the paddling will end, because Vinnie is simply
running the show and not saying anything that would indicate that the end is
coming.And the ending finally comes almost immediately after Vinnie
gives Rob a series of swats hard enough to make a lovely welt on his right
cheek. This time, when Rob stands up to stop the punishment, Vinnie allows it.
Rob’s face expresses a man who has been thoroughly punished. He is not crying
(or fake crying, ugh). But he has an impressive glare of shock at how intense
the paddling was.Even though Vinnie accepts the end of the punishment (Would
he have stopped without that mark? Who knows? Maybe not), he still asserts
dominance. He forces Rob to stand in the corner and pull down his shorts to
show off his literally blistered ass. The screenshots don’t adequately show how
raw Rob’s ass is. Actually the grainy old movie likely doesn’t do it justice
either. From talking to guys involved in these old movies I understand the
nature of the film quality and the lighting they used doesn’t really show
punished bottoms to be as red as they actually are. But you don’t get a welt
like Rob gets without having a dark, crimson bottom. Rob probably did not sit
comfortably for a couple of days after this punishment.In Part VI, I’ll look at how the physical dynamic between

(Part VI)The Bully/Victim Dynamic
While Rob only appears in this one scene, Vinnie appears in another
scene, dishing out another paddling to another frat boy entirely for the
purpose of showing one of his brothers the “right” way to spank.This other scene is just not very good. Vinnie’s second
victim puts up a little bit of a struggle at one point but is mostly just there
and limp. He is an object to be smacked. It is very boring to watch (and the
other spanking couple in the scene is just terrible). Vinnie’s lack of good
paddle technique becomes more obvious – sometimes it looks like he’s actually
punching the other guy’s butt with his fist because of the way he’s clutching
the paddle.All of that is to say that what makes this whole scene so
much better than the sum of its individual parts is the way the two men play
off each other perfectly. I’ve praised Rob repeatedly as the bottom, and he
deserves it. He is the victim of Vinnie’s domination, but he is hardly passive
except at the very beginning.Here’s what Rob’s unwillingness to just play along as the
meek pledge does: It forces Vinnie to physically demonstrate his ability to
dominate Rob. This scene could have been so flat if Rob just accepted that
Vinnie was bigger and stronger than him. Instead, he resists, requiring Vinnie
throughout the entire video to physically manage him. So many spanking videos
are oddly sort of hands-off, except for the spanking. Sometimes this is
deliberate if there’s a bondage scene involved. But there can be this mentality
that people are only watching for the spanking, so the only real
“connection” you see other than some hands-on positioning is the hand
or implement hitting the ass (unless the scene also delves into sex).Vinnie and Rob maintain a constant physical connection and
an amazing chemistry that is unique to good spanking scenes. Vinnie’s physical
presence renders the need for a lot of threatening dialogue set-up unnecessary.
Vinnie can just force himself on Rob, and he does. Because Rob (as an actor)
knows that Vinnie is stronger than him, this, ironically, gives Rob a sort of
“permission” to physically act up. Rob can squirm and struggle the
whole way through, but Vinnie’s strength keeps Rob from ever
“winning.” Rob forces Vinnie to use his body for more than just
giving a spanking. He challenges Vinnie to maintain control over the scene. He
makes Vinnie be a better, more interesting top than he would have been
otherwise. Rob’s unwillingness to play passive keeps Vinnie from getting lazy.Thus this spanking scene has components you’d actually see
in a good non-porn movie, weirdly enough. It has build up. Rob escalates his
own punishment throughout the scene by insulting Vinnie on several occasions.
Given that Rob knows he can’t break free, this is deliberately goading Vinnie
on to punish him further. There’s dramatic tension absent from a lot of
spanking scenes that exists because the story is being told physically, not
through a lot of dialogue. We don’t know watching the first time how long the
spanking or paddling is going to be because Vinnie doesn’t give much feedback.
He doesn’t lecture Rob. He doesn’t ask Rob if he’s “learned his
lesson” (though Rob volunteers that he has). There is a lack of
predictability to it compared to other spanking videos of its type. And the
conflict feels dynamic. We experience Rob’s increasing struggles throughout
this whole scene and his inability to break free of Vinnie. Vinnie continually physically
forcing Rob back over the chair for more paddling is just a wonderful
bully/victim dynamic detail. Vinnie has latched onto the back of Rob’s shirt
like a hook and keep pushes him right back down for more swats. Other scenes where the top exerts this much
control over the bottom often involve bondage of some sort. But Vinnie and Rob
don’t need it. They are pitch perfect as the domineering bully and struggling, mouthy
victim based just on the physicality between the two of them.SO! In conclusion: This is not the hottest OTK spanking
scene in porn. It is not the hottest paddling scene in porn. Vinnie is not the
hottest or most-skilled top in spank porn. Rob is not the hottest bottom in
spank porn. But when everything is combined together and that bully/victim
chemistry is added, you end up with my favorite spanking scene ever.And you can get it for cheap! I think, back in the day, I
paid about $40 or so for the VCR tape version of “Fraternity Tales.”
