Got a guest post up on the Story Reading Ape today. Gotta thank Chris for letting me do a guest blog!

First off, let’s give a little introduction to ourselves. My name is Riley Amos Westbrook, and I have my beautiful wife Sara with me today. We’re the authors of a fantasy trilogy called Breath of the Titans: The False Titanbringer, as well as a good old fashioned zombie story called Everyone Dies At The End. I’ve only been an author for a little over a year now, but I’ve learned a lot. Below are some of the conclusions I’ve reached after becoming a bit more educated.
I’m learning there’s a difference between bad grammar and bad grammar. You can have a clear voice, full of information, that tells who, what, when, where, and why, and yet still say absolutely nothing. That is bad grammar. The misuse of words that you think are correct, because darnit, that’s how I’ve done it my whole life. My wife and I have…

Goodreads Cracked: An assesment! #RileyAmosReviews
I’ve had the pleasure recently of opening a dialogue with one Alinka Rutkowska. She’s a very open woman who encourages people to contact her. So I did, and I asked for a version of her Goodreads Cracked program to give it an assesment. Overall, I’d say it was a positive experience.
Module 1-5
This section is chock full of information to help you set up your Goodreads account to best effect. The focus is on putting your best foot forward, and not being afraid to interact with others on social media. If you are a beginning user confused by Goodreads, this section is meant for you!
These modules are indepth, and Alinka takes you through everything step by step.
Module 6
This section is on how to get reviews without doing a giveaway. I’m not going to tell you her secret, because that would just be unethical, but I will say that as part and parcel, you’re going to have to get over any shyness.
I’ve garnered quite a few new reviewers using this method.
Module 7
This section focuses on getting reviews with a giveaway. Another wonderfully indepth section that shows you how to use your profile to maximize reviews. Lots of useful information here that I’m still digesting.
Module 8
Almost a continuation of module 7, but extending it to your own website. Lots more useful information that I’m still digesting.
Also included is a section on “The Perfect Book Launch” and how to do Ebook giveaways with Goodreads. Over all, I would say this is a program full of good information. It holds information for people of all skill levels, and is mostly made up of strategies Alinka used to market her brand. Overall a very useful reference resource.
If you’re struggling with Goodreads, and looking for help on how to optimize your experience there, this is a good program. I’m not saying everyone will get something new from it, but most people will. Thank you Alinka for furnishing me with a copy of the program to assess it, and I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Cruisin through books ’cause books make life worth livin’ with Aly #RileyAmosReviews, 6/9/2015 part 3
The Gift-Knight’s Quest by Dylan Madeley
This book was not what I expected and this is a good thing. I loved the world building in this fantasy adventure, creating an entirely new society with its own culture and laws and inhabitants. The story line was very complex but I still went along for the ride. There was not too much backstory and explanation for me and I liked this part as well. The story centers around two people, Chandra and Derek, who are from royal families. If you like fantasy, you should check out this book. * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review* 4/5

I think this was a very good book. I would read more on this series! I found myself taken by the life and struggles of the main character, Wynter Reeves. Wynter takes a placement exam that will determine the rest of her life. I enjoyed following this character in this story. I can see this book as a movie one day! * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review* 5/5

I really enjoyed this book as good as the rest of the series. This book is the best by far for me. When Ryan gets to college all he thinks about is Maddy and one night he goes out to a party where he gets drunk. Then he meets Lindsay who is in his Econ class. She hates him right away and he doesn’t understand why. This is another great book by Nicole. If you like this series be sure to read this book as well. * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review* 5/5

Looking for some positive thoughts for Alysia!
Yeah, I know, things have slowed down a bit on here. Been a pain in the backside asking for reviews, which makes it harder to find free time to do other things! And Alysia is doing a class for her job, trying to gain some more letters to her name, and is focusing on that right at the moment. She says, “Don’t stop the book train, but I need to focus on this for a few weeks.”
We understand Alysia, and we’re all rooting for ya!
I’m going to be posting a review of a lesson I took called “Goodreads Cracked”. Alinka Rutkowska set up the program, and offered me a free trial of it. It covers a lot of ground, and I completed my first time through it fairly quickly. So keep an eye out for that, and keep doing what you do! You all have a great day.

Knights of the Withering Flame by Kyle R. Zeller
This was a great book! I enjoyed it very much. This book reminds me of the Percy Jackson Movies. I have not read any Percy Jackson books but I enjoyed the movies very much. This book is great too just like these movies. I love to read about Greek and Roman gods and goddesses! I love to imagine them in this world at one time and Hercules and Xena fighting them. Yes I am very much I fan. If you are a fan as much as I am, you must read this book. * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review* 5/5

This was a great story of falling into a hole and finding a whole new world. It would be great for this to be something more than just Fantasy. I would love to find a whole new world. lol This book has a little of everything for me. It felt a little like Alice in Wonderland and Narnia and Once upon a time and many more all in one book .
