Book 03 Goodreads Challenge
So today I started my third book of the year still keeping with the theme of The Bookshop Cafe to read a book by an author from a country other than the UK or USA.
I just started The Wolf In The Attic by Irish Author Paul Kearney
If I did not have other things to do I would curl up and read this book right through. It is a real page turner. I love how it begins and draws you right in
All day, Pa went on, and it was raining outside in buckets and bowls, the kind of rain that makes another life for itself on the ground - it grows up and gathers together and starts gurgling everywhere. I like that rain - sometimes - I like looking at it, and thinking about it, but it's nasty really.

Book 02 Goodreads Challenge
OK So almost finished my first book of the challenge and today I had a message from 'The Bookshop Cafe' Goodreads Group. They are setting a monthly challenge so I am taking them up on their challenge for January.
Read a book by an author other than UK or USA. Well I have over 100 books already listed in my Reading Log so I wondered if there was one in there and YES I eventually found one (after trawling through loads or USA authors with foreign sounding names).
I am going to try 'The Threshold' by Anita Kovacevic from Croatia Happy Reading and enjoy the challenge :-)

Such a lovely story and follows on from

I also treated myself to two reading logs, I had to get 2 because I had the bright idea of noting down all the books still to read that I thought I would do for the challenge. Unfortunately I own over 100+ books that I still have not read almost a 50/50 split half print and half kindle. My challenge is 100 but time will tell.
Happy Reading Everyone and good luck with your challenges.

Bank Holiday Monday
Whoop whoo thank goodness for Bank Holidays I have managed to bring myself back up to speed with some of my reading challenge books. Now read 55 out of 80.
Why 80 you may well ask? Well I found a lovely notebook that has exactly 80 lined pages in it, so I thought it would be great for writing out the titles and dates of each book that I read through the year and also add notes for me to do little reviews.
OK so I may have cheated by reading some short story books, but hey they need reviews too. A really lovely short I read this weekend was
FLOR Y FUEGO by Bibiana Krall
The book drew me in from the start check out this teeny tiny sample
'The flowering azalea bushes spewed pollen, while birds and bees hummed in the drunken stupor of spring.'
So beautiful, so if you want a lovely quick read grab yourself a copy.
Happy Reading :-)

I need your support please

My short story 'One Breath' was entered into a very short competition for best 'First Line'. It was unsuccessful but I would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who showed their support
‘The rainbow had vanished, swept away behind a great sweeping of grey clouds.’
Thank You :-)

2015 #NaNoWriMo Day 16
24,691 words in total so far and this is halfway almost. I am very slowly making progress and I managed to publish my little eBook The Magic of Grandfather Time. I started the main body of the story in NaNoWriMo 2014 so now a year on I have something solid to show for all the hard work and effort.
I also need to say a big THANK YOU to all who have supported, encouraged and inspired me to continue writing. I adore you all. :-)
The Magic of Grandfather Time Series will consist initially of four books depicting the seasons. All have the same theme running through them.
Heartfelt stories of love, loss & magic.
Happy Reading from Rose :-)

2015 NaNoWriMo Challenge
Well here we are on the 1st Day of the challenge and guess what? I had forgotten all about it. Busy with Halloween promo's for UK Indie Lit Fest.
Never mind I am here now. I have probably completed 2,000 without even beginning, just by playing on social media (not a good start).
This year I am using the Challenge to try and finish off my 'Rainbows & Roses ~ Poetry & Prose' book and maybe get down the bare bones of another little story in my 'Magic of Grandfather Time Series'
Happy Writing one and all :-)
