Former Iraqi revolutionary and statesman. His emphasize was Pan-Arabism and Arab socialism. He was hanged in 2006 after an Invasion by the United States of America.

He wrote four historical novels and was less known for his efforts for the emancipation of Arab women and for the protection of the Iraqi christian community.
