Why America’s Anti-Bullying Campaign is a Dud!

With all the hand ringing, the beat just goes on and on… More money is spent; more anti-bullying specialists are enlisted and yet nobody jumps off the carousel long enough to stop and ask: how come it isn’t working? So if it doesn’t work, and it doesn’t, then why not? For starters, it teaches the wrong lesson. The lesson that if we “Turn our other cheek enough” and never forget that “sticks and stones may break our bones, but words can never harm us.” Then we’ll be doing the right thing and the bully will be dazzled by our goodness before ultimately backing away. Really? No, not really!

That is nothing more than a prescription for never ever taking up for yourself. And for never being anything more than sweetly benevolent towards all those who are so attempting to do you in.

Albert Einstein whose observations and insights were legendary once commented, “Look deep into nature and you will understand everything better.”

Nature will not and cannot teach the lion to become a vegetarian. Instead nature teaches, the gazelle to use his speed, maneuverability and body language to avoid becoming lunchmeat for the lion.

Please let me know if this has been your experience?
