Update for Fall 2015
Just wanted to give everyone an update of what’s coming this fall!
First and foremost, I’m busily preparing for the release of Book 3 in the Deathless Night Series! I don’t have an exact release date yet, but I will let you all know as soon as I do. However, keep an eye out for the cover reveal, which will be coming in October exclusively from The Book Disciple!
I must admit I’m stressing a bit over this third book. The hero is someone very dear to my heart, and I really hope you all love his story as much as I do. Fingers crossed!
The second major happening this fall is the Emerald City Writer’s Conference, where I will be one of the featured authors at their Passport to Romance Reader Event!
It’s being held at the Bellevue Westin Hotel in Bellevue, Washington on October 17th, 2015.
It’s open to the public, FREE to get in, and there’s going to be goodie bags (for the first 100 readers), raffle baskets (bring your cash for these tickets) and other giveaways!
There’s going to be 40+ wonderful romance authors there (see the flyer for a list),
AND, get your photo taken with the authors. Or if you’d rather, one of the hot male cover models! Or both!
It’s going to be so much fun, I can’t wait to see everyone there!
That’s about it for now. As always, thank you for your support and kind words! I love bringing you my character’s stories, and I love hearing from my readers, so keep in touch!
Sincerely,
L.E. Wilson
PS. I’m also so very appreciative of anyone who takes the time to leave a review for my books. Thank you!!

The Purest of the Breed by Tracy Tappan
Although I’m really enjoying this new series, I have to say this one fell a little short for me. (MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD)
Although I appreciated how Dev wasn’t a “perfect” guy, I didn’t enjoy the main characters as much for some reason, and some of their “dating” conversations seemed kind of forced to me. I also would have liked more from them when they finally did get together. The book skipped ahead a lot, and I felt slightly cheated by their HEA. There were a lot of different storylines going on in this one too, almost too many. I would’ve loved more detail from Alex and Luvera. There was so much story leading up to them getting together, and then it just jumped ahead to Marissa saying they’d bonded. Great! But I would’ve liked a scene when they finally got together.
Overall though, I did like the book, and I’ll be buying the 3rd.

The Bloodline War by Tracy Tappan
5 STARS!!
I kept seeing this series compared to J.R. Ward’s “Black Dagger Brotherhood Series” (which I LOVE), so I finally decided to give it a try. As a writer myself, I don’t have a lot of time to read for enjoyment, and I don’t waste my time on books that don’t keep my interest, but as you can tell from my rating, this one did. I really enjoyed it! It was a different twist on the vampire storyline, and quite imaginative. The characters were great, all very distinct, and you really got a good picture of their different personalities. And the guys are HOT, HOT, HOT. I’ve already purchased the second book and can’t wait to read it! (Slow clap Ms. Tappan.)
If you’re looking for a new paranormal series, just click on the book cover. Enjoy!

Poo Poo Point

Mt. Rainier

The Trail

View of Lake Sammamish
Saturday, May 11, 2015, my husband and I hiked up Tiger Mountain in Issaquah, WA. to Poo Poo Point. My youngest is in Boy Scouts, and we tagged along on their activity. I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time, and I was super excited! I charged up my camera batteries, put on my hiking boots, my hippie hat, and my bright green shirt (in case I got lost), and off we went!
You may be wondering why it’s called “Poo Poo Point”. Contrary to the boy’s ideas (giggling the entire way), it’s name is a reference to the steam whistle sounds in the early logging days. The actual “Point” is a small knoll on the shoulder of West Tiger Mountain. Around the 1970’s, the owners at the time, Weyerhaeuser Corporation, logged the area around the Point so well they took out the stumps and everything. The result is a clearing that is now used as a launchpad for paragliders, many of whom backpack their gear two miles up the mountain, and float back down. Yes, people actually do that. They pushed me out of their way as they jogged by me (yes, jogged) on their way up the mountain. (Who are these people? Are they even human?)
If any of you have seen pictures of me, you’ll know that I am not a skinny little thing, but I try to stay active and though I’m not the fastest person, my pure stubbornness to finish what I start will get my butt up that mountain. (I am a Taurus, after all. Slow and steady wins the race.) Also, I have a tiny competitive streak, especially when there are boys around (grown or otherwise). I blame this on growing up with an older brother who loved to show me up every chance he got. The fact that he was 5 years older and twice my size did not strike him as having an advantage over his little sister.
So, the first part of the trail is made up mostly of stone steps. Yes, steps. It’s very picturesque, but wow. Steps. As you go farther up, the mountain (but not the trail) becomes less steep as it zig-zags back and forth across the Yah-er Wall (the steep face of Poo Poo Point). As you keep going up, the trees of the regenerating forest become smaller and spaced farther apart. Not quite as pretty, but no more steps! Woo!
And did I mention that I just had gallbladder surgeries a few weeks ago? Yes, surgeries, plural. Two consecutive days of them. The first day to remove stones and insert a stent, and the second day to remove the gallbladder. And that I had actually just been back in the hospital the Tuesday before our hike to have them remove that stent they left in me from the first surgeries?
Just over 1 1/2 miles up the mountain, we came to the South Launch Viewpoint (insert oohs and ahhs here). Here you get an unobstructed view of Mt. Rainier (see pic). Keep going another 1/4 mile and 140 feet and you reach Poo Poo Point and its North Launch Viewpoint (more oohs and ahhs).
Here we all crumbled to the ground (except for those inhuman backpackers who began to unload their stuff and prepare for launch) and looked out over the quaint town town of Issaquah nestled between Tiger Mountain to its east and Squak and Cougar Mountains to the west. To your right you can see Lake Sammamish, and the city of Belleview on its far side. It was actually clear enough while we were there that we could see the snow-capped peaks of the Olympic Mountains.
And let me tell you, it was all worth it. The only bad part, is now we had to go back down. The boys ran most of the way, and yes, my youngest took a dive and came up bloody. I, with my expensive camera, carefully picked my way back down the rocks and was the last one down.
Four hours and multiple blisters later, we were back at the bottom and watching the paragliders. We were also starving, and so with a wave to Poo Poo Point, we headed to the Triple XXX diner to replace all those calories we’d just lost.
I definitely need to invest in some hiking poles and thicker socks.

Spring Has Sprung in Seattle!
Let me start this post by apologizing to any of my readers who are still bogged down in the snow. I am, sincerely, sorry. Unless you like the snow? In that case, please send me pictures (lewilsonauthor@gmail.com), because we have been totally cheated out of winter this year.
As you can see from the photo I took above, the cherry blossoms are blooming! They’re beautiful, and I love them, but where was our winter? We live outside of Seattle, on a mountain. We’re further north than Toronto, CA. What happened to my snow?
I’ll have to console myself with following the updates of one of my favorite authors, Kresley Cole, who is on an ice adventure in Sweden! She has some amazing pictures on her site and also on Instagram and Facebook. She even slept in an Ice Hotel! Yes, the bed, and the entire room, were made of ice! Check it out here.
If you haven’t read her Immortals After Dark series, I highly recommend it! I also recommend her Arcana Chronicles YA series, and her Game Maker erotica series.
However, if you are completely tired of winter, I understand. Here are a few more Springtime pictures for you from around my home. Now, I have to get back to Luukas and Keira. I can’t wait for you to read their story!
Thank you for your support!

RAZE by Tillie Cole
*WARNING* This book is not for the faint of heart!
Finally! A “new to me” author who held my attention for more than a few chapters. This was the first book of Ms. Cole’s that I’ve read, and I do believe I’ll be back for more! She tells a raw and compelling story of life, death, and love, and doesn’t hold back any punches.
Spoilers below!
RAZE is the story of Kisa, a daughter of a Russian Mafia King in NYC, and Luka, son of the third boss in the Bratva (Mafia). They’d grown up together, attached at the hip, two parts of one soul, believing they were destined to be together for the rest of their lives. (I love the little thing she did there with their eyes). They loved innocently and passionately from the time they met, until Luka was torn from her by his psycho of a friend, who’d always wanted Kisa for his own. And when I say he was psycho, I mean he was crazy with a capitol “C”. Luka was accused of murdering his best friend, Kisa’s brother, and stabbing Alik (the psycho of a friend) while he was at it.
Still just a teenager, Luka was sent to the homeland to rot away in a prison over there, and wouldn’t you know it, the bus he was traveling on conveniently crashed and caught fire and Luka was killed.
Or was he?
With Luka out of the picture, Alik (a.k.a- PSYCHO), wasted no time moving in on Kisa and claiming her for his own. As far as their families were concerned, it was a good match, two children of two bosses who would one day take over the business, and as soon as they were of age, they began to plan their wedding. Alik was possessive, abusive, (and did I mention- Craaaazzzzyyyy), but Kisa knew her family wouldn’t approve of her marrying outside of the life they lived, so she did what she had to do to appease her fiance and survive. It didn’t help matters that Alik was the top fighter in the families illegal cage fighting/gambling ring, and was constantly shot up with all manner of muscle-making, killer-inducing drugs.
Life with the Bratva was what it was until one night, while out giving food and blankets to the needy, Kisa was attacked in an alley. But don’t worry! She was saved! Saved by a mysterious powerhouse stranger who killed her attacker and ran off. The next night, when she sees him again and asks if there’s anything she can do to thank him, he tells her he needs money, quite a lot of money, to seek out his revenge.
Ah. Revenge is a thing, she, the daughter of a mafia lord, understands. So, she helps him by bringing the money for him. And that night she sees his eyes for the first time. The sight of them shocks her, and she dares to begin to hope. Could it be that this shell of a man is her Luka? Believed to be dead all this time? But he doesn’t seem to remember who he is or where he came from. He only remembers one thing – he must get revenge on the one who wronged him.
Her homeless rescuer shows up at their fighting ring, saying only that he is called Raze, wanting to enter the Dungeon’s Championship – three days of fighting to the death and the largest underground gambling event her family ran. Immediately, they place him in with the top contenders, because this nameless, homeless man has a little experience in this sort of thing. He sets his sights on the one who wronged him: Alik, The Butcher.
There were a few little things that prevented me from giving it a solid 5 stars – some parts that got a little repetitive, a few editing mistakes that weren’t caught (but hey, we’re all human), etc. Also, I was thrown off a little at the end by the way Kisa, who had been severely beaten and then some, had barely been able to stand up without vomiting, but determined to make her way to the Dungeon to see the fight, wasn’t immediately taken care of. That woman should’ve been in a hospital! Or at least in bed drugged up on a fancy, painkiller cocktail! I mean, come on, I know you’re all tough mafia men and she’s just a girl, but you could’ve had your reunion at her bedside!
Anyway, that could just be my OCD talking. Overall, I applaud you Ms. Cole. I loved the book, and I would highly recommend it to other readers!

Official Review on OnlineBookClub.org

[Following is the official OnlineBookClub.org review of “Blood Hunger” by L.E. Wilson.]

3 out of 4 stars
Review by Lydia
Oh, man! Holly chocolate fudge – what did I just read?! I may not be a vampire fanatic – in fact, I prefer shapeshifters to those blood suckers – but wow! L. E. Wilson just proved there’s hope yet for their kind with the first book of her Deathless Night series, Blood Hunger! And let me tell you, this statement is very heavily based on her talent!
Nikulas Kreek is desperate to find his big brother. Luukas has been abducted by an evil female vampire, for way too long. So it’s about time he found a witch to help him with his rescue deed. He most certainly doesn’t have time for emotions and feelings towards said witch. But Emma Moss, who’s also looking for her sister, is a woman he can’t possibly stay away from – no matter how safe or logical it may seem for him to keep his distance. Can they survive not only their primal attraction towards each other, but also the enemies set out to make sure they fail in their quest to bring back their siblings? And how can they open up to each other, when their pasts keep raising their ugly heads up?
I don’t know about you, but I really wish a certain madman in a blue box could come and take me back in time, back in that moment when I started reading this book for the first time. To experience, once again, that delight of seeing Nik and Emma’s relationship slowly bloom and thrive. It was heartbreaking, yes, but it was also wonderful. I mean, how can I explain it? How can I possibly describe the bond between two people, who are lusting after each other, yet manage to slowly form that lust into love despite the intensity of their attraction? It was, simply, pure magic!
Nik as a guy was truly droolworthy, and I was always divided between reacting with “awww” and “rawr” when it was his POV in the story, (no kidding, I actually made those sounds!), and he managed to touch my heart – my panties are another story, his fault, by the way – with his actions and words. Though at times I had to pat the screen, as if touching Emma’s back, and say “There, there, honey, I know, he’s being a you-know-what, it’s ok, he might be on his period or something…”. But it was somewhat acceptable after I found out what had happened to the poor guy.
Emma, on the other hand, was a character that gave me mixed feelings. At first, I really enjoyed her reactions, and her attitude – and when she and Aiden (for whom I’ll fangirl in just a bit) became “partners in crime of torturing Nik”, I nearly choked from trying to suppress my giggles. However, after things with Nik started getting somewhat steady and serious, she became the very thing I hate. What is that, you may ask? The whiny, indecisive female lead that is always the victim, and everyone else around her just doesn’t understand her, or they want to hurt her feelings, and yada yada yada… Argh, why?!
On a completely different matter, here comes the fangirling I told you about above. Aiden, oh, Aiden! Nik was a true stud, but Aiden was the one who really spoke to my heart. Funny, witty, and that accent, yum~
I definitely need more of him. And the other available males I read about, too! But for now, I have to wait for the next book to come out – summer seems so far away, sniff! I just hope Mrs. Wilson decides to let all those delectable hunks find their romantic HEA~
I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. Now, don’t get me wrong, it was actually going to be a solid 4-star one, but Emma’s behavior near the end of the book ruined the total perfection with a smudge – thankfully, it was only a small smudge, so no major harm done.

50 Shades of Grey Movie- Yay or Nay?
Have you seen it? TODAY has shared a new trailer with us, and it’s the hardware store scene! If you haven’t seen it yet, or just want to watch it for the 40th time, here is the link:
You’re welcome.
Are you already in line for movie tickets? I have to admit, I was torn. I’ve read the books multiple times (in spite of the critics), but it’s always hard for me when they make it into a movie. The characters in my head never translate to the actors they choose to portray them, and I almost always prefer the version in my head, with the exception of maybe Gone With The Wind. They did a pretty good job with that, I think.
But I finally broke down and agreed to go see it with some writer friends to support the cause. We’re going to a dinner theater to hate-watch the movie. They serve alcohol there. Who knows? Maybe it’ll surprise us. Or we’ll have enough drinks where we won’t care anyway. Either way, it’s a win-win!
