BoDs' Pulling Strategy Practices

By leveraging these strategies and practices, corporate directors can effectively guide their organizations toward achieving strategic objectives while maintaining good governance and ethical standards.

Leadership is both an influence and a set of principles and disciplines. Corporate directors as the top leadership roles play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction and governance of a company. Their "pulling" strategies and practices involve guiding and influencing the organization to achieve its long-term goals.

Here are some key components and practices involved in this process:

Strategic Vision and Leadership: Directors help establish a clear and compelling vision for the company, ensuring that it aligns with the organization's mission and values. They focus on long-term strategic planning, identifying potential opportunities and threats in the business environment.

Governance and Oversight of Strategy Execution and Risk Management: Board Directors are responsible for establishing effective governance structures, ensuring that the board operates efficiently and transparently. They oversee strategy implementation and risk management practices, ensuring that the company identifies, assesses, and mitigates potential risks, ensuring on-value, on-budget, on-time strategy execution.

Performance Monitoring and Evaluation: Directors set key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the company's progress toward its strategic objectives. They regularly evaluate the performance of the senior management, providing feedback and guidance as needed.

Stakeholder Engagement: Directors engage with shareholders, ensuring that their interests are considered in the company's strategic decisions. They facilitate communication with other stakeholders, such as employees, customers, and regulators, to maintain trust and transparency.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Directors ensure that the company's strategies align with ethical standards and contribute positively to society. They promote sustainable business practices, recognizing the importance of environmental and social considerations in long-term success.

Innovation: Directors encourage agility and resilience to changes in the market environment, ensuring the company remains competitive. They support innovation and research and development initiatives to drive growth and maintain a competitive edge.

Nowadays, BoDs need to take an interdisciplinary approach to steer the organizations in the right direction. By leveraging these strategies and practices, corporate directors can effectively guide their organizations toward achieving strategic objectives while maintaining good governance and ethical standards.

Professional Growth

Every professional has their own journey of growth either personally or professionally based on their own set of understanding, innate talent, professional training, life experience, and refinement.

Raw Talent refers to the natural abilities or innate skills that an individual possesses without formal training or development. These are often seen as gifts or inherent strengths that can give a person an advantage in certain areas, such as intellectual capacity, artistic ability, and athletic prowess.
But talent is both natural and nurtured. Thus, it's always important for us to discover our innate talents, and nurture them through continued learning and development to make high achievements.

Developed Talent involves the cultivation and enhancement of skills through education, practice, and experience. This type of talent is built over time through deliberate effort and learning, often transforming raw talent into a refined and polished skill set.

Organizations and individuals often benefit from a combination of both raw and developed talent. Raw talent can provide a strong foundation, but developed talent is crucial for achieving high levels of expertise and performance in any field. Raw talent provides a natural foundation, but to fully realize its potential, individuals often need to engage in deliberate practice and training. This process involves setting clear goals, seeking feedback, and continuously refining skills.

Gaining hands-on experience and learning from mentors or coaches can further enhance one's abilities, turning innate talent into a well-developed skill set. This transformation is supported by the principles of perceptual learning, where experience and practice improve the ability to respond to stimuli, thereby enhancing performance in specific tasks.

Every professional has their own journey of growth either personally or professionally based on their own set of understanding, innate talent, professional training, life experience, and refinement. By setting concrete talent development goals, business professionals and organizational management can work together to cultivate sustainable and relevant capability that benefits the employees as well as the company they work for.

Psychological Perspective

Perception is a complex interplay of innate abilities, learned experiences, cultural influences, and cognitive biases, all contributing to how individuals perceive and interpret the world around them.

Our eyes see the world, and our minds intend to interpret it. Perception of the world is influenced by a variety of psychological factors, which can vary among individuals and across different contexts.
These factors include cultural influences, cognitive biases, learning, and individual differences. Several psychological factors can significantly influence perception:

Learning and Experience: Perception is modified by learning and past experiences. Theories like discovery and enrichment suggest that perceptual learning involves either discovering new aspects of sensory stimuli or enriching sensory experiences with learned associations.

Cultural Influences: Cultural backgrounds shape how individuals perceive their environment. For example, people from cultures with different visual environments may perceive visual illusions differently than those from Western cultures.

Expectations and Assumptions: Expectations can shape perception, leading to phenomena like illusions when sensory information is ambiguous or incomplete. These expectations are often based on past experiences and learned assumptions.

Social and Group Influences: Social factors, including cultural stereotypes and group membership, affect perception. These influences can alter how objects and people are perceived, often through the lens of social roles and expectations. For example, cognitive stereotyping involves categorizing objects or people and filling in missing information based on these categories, which can lead to overgeneralizations and misperceptions.

Emotional and Motivational Factors: Emotions and motivations can also impact perception. For example, emotional states can influence how colors are perceived, and motivational factors can affect the recognition of stimuli with personal significance.

Maturity and Development: Perceptual abilities change with age due to maturation and learning. For instance, perceptual constancies improve with age, and susceptibility to optical illusions can vary depending on developmental stages.

Perception is a complex interplay of innate abilities, learned experiences, cultural influences, and cognitive biases, all contributing to how individuals perceive and interpret the world around them.

Pulling, Pulling

With courage as my anchor and value as our sail, we’ll navigate the water, where influences prevail.

In the quiet of the moment,

we feel a gentle strain,

a thought in our mind,

shaped by what we observe;

with every step we take,

we try to make it solid;

pulling toward the light,

in which we can overcome obstacles...

Through the shadows and the doubt,

we hear a melody to recharge our spirits;

a harmony of hope that’s setting vision high enough;

pulling, pulling,

like the tide to the shore,

drawing us closer to

what we're searching for.

Pulling, pulling,

At this time and moment,

we'll follow the inspirational rhythm,

make sound judgment,

get things right all the time...

Let's continue our journey of innovation,

let the creative current flow forward freely;

in the nuance of understanding, being understood;

we’ll find what we should know,

discover global wisdom;

with courage as my anchor,

value as our sail,

we’ll navigate complex realms,

where great influences prevail.

Innovation

You can't always wait for the "best" solution to emerge. It is important to experiment, explore, engage, and create multiple pathways to solve problems creatively.

Nowadays problem solving becomes more complex than ever; creativity plays a crucial role in problem-solving by enabling the generation of new and innovative solutions. It involves the ability to bring something new into existence, whether it is a novel solution to a problem, a new method, or a creative solution.

Creative individuals often exhibit characteristics such as autonomy, curiosity, and a willingness to seek novelty, which is essential for identifying unique problems and opportunities that others might overlook.

In problem-solving, creativity allows individuals to think divergently, generating a richness of ideas and originality of thought. This divergent thinking complements convergent thinking, which involves analytical reasoning and is typically measured by intelligence tests. By combining these thinking styles, creative problem solvers can approach challenges from multiple angles, leading to more effective and innovative solutions.

Creativity involves a balance between intellect and intuition: It allows individuals to use both rational and seemingly nonrational influences in their problem-solving processes. This flexibility is crucial for adapting to new situations and finding original solutions that might not be immediately apparent through conventional thinking.

Does creativity enhance teamwork in problem-solving? Creativity can significantly enhance teamwork in problem-solving by fostering an environment where diverse ideas and perspectives are encouraged and integrated. Here are several ways creativity contributes to effective teamwork:

-Diverse Perspectives: Creativity thrives on diversity. When team members bring different backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints, it enriches the pool of ideas and potential solutions. This diversity can lead to more innovative and effective problem-solving as team members build on each other's ideas and challenge conventional thinking.

-Collaborative Innovation: Creative teamwork encourages collaboration, where team members can brainstorm and experiment with new ideas together. This collaborative approach can lead to the development of novel solutions that might not emerge in a more isolated or hierarchical setting.

-Cross-functional Communication: A creative environment promotes open communication, where team members feel comfortable sharing their ideas without fear of judgment. This openness can lead to more dynamic discussions and a greater willingness to explore unconventional solutions.

-Increase Engagement: When team members are encouraged to be creative, they are often more engaged and invested in the problem-solving process. This engagement can lead to higher motivation and a stronger commitment to finding effective solutions.

-Efficient Problem-Solving: By leveraging the collective creativity of the team, problems can often be solved more efficiently. The diverse input and collaborative efforts can lead to quicker identification of viable solutions and more effective implementation.

You can't always wait for the "best" solution to emerge. It is important to experiment, explore, engage, and create multiple pathways to solve problems creatively. Creativity enhances teamwork by creating a dynamic and inclusive environment that values diverse contributions and fosters innovative problem-solving.

Past, Present, Future

Past present, future, for in the long river of history, there’s so much we can learn; so do not be someone you are not; do not let the time flow without meaningful value.

In the shadows of the memories,

where echoes softly play,

The past is like a storybook,

shaping who we are today;

lessons learned,

reflection conveyed,

we continue to ponder-

who we want to be;

with every whispered inner voice,

we know we have to -

continually move forward.

Past, present, future,

a journey intertwined;

threads of time and moment,

in the tapestry of life's journey;

From the roots we’ve grown from,

to the vision we inspire anew;

truth, value, creative inspiration,

always guide us through difficult times.

Past, present, future,

in the pulse of the life rhyme,

where the story unfolds its grace,

The present is a moment we hold,

the life we experience;

As we look ahead,

to the pathways yet unseen;

the future holds its place,

like a canvas yet to glean.

With vision as our guide,

capabilities we build up,

we’ll paint with every hue,

craft our tomorrow,

from the picture we’ve been weaving at the present...

Past, present, future,

let’s embrace the inspiration of the truth,

continue to write stories of all sorts;

for in the long river of history,

there’s so much we can learn;

do not be someone you are not;

do not let the time flow without-

meaningful value.

The past is a time left behind.

The future is the time being created.

The present is -

when you have the time to-

think about them all...

Impartial Governance

Impartial governance is characterized by the ability of institutions to function without bias, ensuring that all citizens are treated equally and that policies are implemented fairly and effectively.

Impartial governance refers to the fair and unbiased activities for guiding, facilitating, and monitoring, ensuring that decisions and policies are made without favoritism or prejudice.
It is a key component of institutional performance and quality of organizational management, which are assessed based on responsiveness, effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability.

Impartial policy maker: An impartial policy maker is the one who makes decisions based on objective criteria and evidence, rather than political pressures or personal biases. This involves several key aspects:

-Objective Decision-Making: They rely on evidence-based analysis to understand policy problems and evaluate potential solutions. This approach helps ensure that decisions are made based on the projected costs and benefits, aiming for the most economical and effective outcomes.

- Accountability: While maintaining independence, impartial policymakers must also be accountable to the public to ensure that their decisions align with democratic values and public interests. This balance is crucial to maintaining trust and legitimacy in their decisions.

-Value & Expertise: Impartial policy-makers must integrate technical expertise with broader societal values, ensuring that decisions are not solely based on legal or economic considerations but also reflect public values and priorities.

-Independence from Political Influence: Impartial policymakers operate independently of political competition and pressures.

Legitimacy and equality: In democratic regimes, impartiality is crucial for maintaining legitimacy and equality among citizens, as it ensures that governmental agencies operate transparently and equitably, responding to the demands and expectations of the public. Judicial independence is a related concept that underscores the importance of judges performing their duties free from external influences, whether governmental or private. This independence is essential for impartial governance, as it ensures that legal decisions are made based on law and justice rather than political or personal interests.

Policy Formulation and Innovation: Influential Experts play a critical role in informing and shaping GRC decisions by leveraging their specialized knowledge to address complex issues, influence public policy, and guide decision-makers toward informed and effective solutions.

People with high expertise contribute to policy development by interpreting complex problems and suggesting viable solutions. Their authoritative knowledge helps policymakers understand the implications of different courses of action, thereby shaping policy choices. This influence is evident in areas like economy or environmental policy, where scientific evidence and expert consensus drive regulatory decisions.

Impartial governance is characterized by the ability of institutions to function without bias, ensuring that all citizens are treated equally and that policies are implemented fairly and effectively. This is particularly important in advanced societal ecosystems, where accountability and transparency are necessary for sustaining public trust and legitimacy.

Right, Right

Right, right, we’ll choose the way that’s true, but challenge common beliefs…

In a world full of differences,
the criteria we make judgment decides-
where we stand for;
search for the truth,
explore the logical reasons underneath;
every step we take,
every road we take,
with wisdom as our compass,
we won't fall behind.

Right, right,

we’ll choose the way that’s true,

but challenge common beliefs;

When the storms come raging,

and doubts start to emerge,

We’ll hold onto our value,

look up to the higher influence;

in the face of the struggle,

we’ll find the light of purpose;

with integrity guiding through,

we’ll always choose to be righteous...

Right, right,

let’s appreciate what we know,

continue to explore unknowns;

In a world of distractions,

let’s stay focused;

with kindness and courage,

our positive energy spread up;

Every challenge we face,

we’ll learn and grow;

Together we’ll shine,

breakthrough the dark moments
