Planning a Road Trip and 💙 Parkinson’s Awareness Month

Jon and I spent the weeks before and after Easter in La Peñitade Jaltemba. It was a peaceful place to escape the busy tourist period. We stayed in our motorhome at The Little Rigs RV Park on a quiet stretch of the beach and loved it!
Working on the motorhomehas been good for Jon—he loves the projects. We’re almost ready for a road trip! We’ve been working hard to prepare the old Minnie Winnie for a drive to Mazatlanand El Fuerte. We plan to take El Chepe, the Copper Canyon train trip, and sometours in the canyon. Pills, Pills, Pills! How Will We Find All of Our Medications in Mexico?

This isan excerpt from my novel Mexico For Better or For Worse. While the story ofexpats Jake and Lindsay is fiction, it depicts many people's fears about movingto Mexico permanently. One of the most common questions I receive is, "Howwill I find the medication I need?" Jake and Lindsay discover that it'spossible in most cases.
Jake hadthe stock bottles for his vitamins, minerals, including magnesium for restlesslegs and sleep, fish oil, CoQ10, and other nutritional supplements, plus eightprescription medication bottles lined up in an arch, a rainbow of colors, onthe Equipale dining table on their outdoor patio. Hisprescription meds included carbidopa/levodopa for Parkinson’s, l-methylfolateto aid in depression and Parkinson’s disease, a mood stabilizer and anantidepressant for bipolar disorder, one anti-cholesterol med, one to relieveurinary difficulty, and one for acid reflux. He had no desire ever to addanother prescription medication to his regimen.
