As I keep trying to tell you: “NFL, Attacked By Right And Left, A Symptom Of America’s Coming Crackup”

Football will be the death of America.

Anyway, here’s “Paul Kersey”:

Many white people have based their very identity on collegiate and professional sports teams, allowing a thrilling victory or demoralizing defeat to influence their moods for days. The National Anthem protests are a kind of shock therapy to break European-Americans away from the “opiate of America.”

Hate to say it but… He may be right…

Dear Muslims: This is why people don’t like you. You’re welcome!

Did you know that

There is a pressing need to turn public spaces where Muslims have been traumatized into spaces where solidarity is strengthened.

Well, good news!

This workshop will help participants explore simple actions they can take based on their level of comfort and their circles of influence.

And it’s being run by a Toronto “community organizer,” so you know it has to be great!

Hey, has there ever been a “workshop” to help “turn public spaces where” non-Muslims have been “traumatized” by Muslims into something something blah blah? You know: The Bataclan? Nice? Westminster Bridge? Beslan?

Hell, how’s about private spaces, like my goddamn living room?

I’ve been traumatized by Muslims since the Munich Olympics. Do I at least get a new TV?

This time last year, I wrote “Martin Luther King, Pussy Grabber” at Taki’s…

Here’s the link.

Seems like the perfect time to revisit that!

Here’s Patrick Cleyburne, who includes helpful links of all the dirt on MLK that Vdare.com et al have been thanklessly (to say the least) publishing for many years.

Zero Hedge took a novel tack:

So 50 years ago The FBI was writing ‘analysis’ that included questioning an anti-establishment leader’s sexual behavior, business taxes, morals, ethics, and communist/Russian ties – not much changes does it!?

Sailer: “Or maybe Lenny Bruce, despite all we’ve heard about his genius over the last half century, just isn’t funny?”

Yep.

Anyway, here’s Steve Sailer:

A running joke in director Bob Fosse’s autobiographical movie All That Jazz was what an ordeal it was to edit the Bruce monologues done by Dustin Hoffman in his biopic Lenny into something finally funny. And then the laughs are attributed by critics to the real life character’s natural hilariousness in contrast to the director’s contrived preciosity.

Ex-Weinstein employee wonders if Warren Beatty is next

writes:

I can’t help but get my Alex Jones on and wonder if the entire fiasco surrounding Toback is a practice run (the chickens just came home to roost for Toback’s friend and publisher, Brett Ratner) for the agenda-driven new philistines in the elite media as they ramp up for what could be their biggest takedown yet: Warren Beatty.

If you accept the premise (as I do) that 2016 was a nationalist-populist redux of 1968, the recent Oscar snafu with Beatty (the Wilt Chamberlain of Hollywood, not to mention Toback’s best friend) and Faye Dunaway, stars of the “antiestablishment” classic Bonnie and Clyde, hardly seems like a coincidence.

From the inbox: This is like Warren Beatty singing ‘You’re So Vain’. Maybe.

David Cole: Actor Jeffrey “Wright personifies why the Democrat Party is hopelessly screwed”

David Cole writes:

Let’s not forget that the bartender who refused service to Jeffrey Wright because of his snide comments and racist finger-pointing sacrificed her tip. She could have swallowed her pride and served him, and maybe made a few extra bucks, money she probably needed.

But he pushed her too far, and she was willing to give up some extra cash because she was tired of being abused for being a “white chick.”

There’s a lesson in that story… one that Democrats ignore at their own risk.

“Janny Wenner, Janny Wenner/Rolling Stone’s most fearless leader”

“Janny Wenner Janny Wenner/Rolling Stone’s most fearless leader”

Gave the boys what they deserve

But with the girls he lost his nerve

Bio reviewed:

Sticky Fingers may sell on the basis of its ample and sometimes ridiculous rock-world lore—Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney eagerly avail themselves for score-settling—but this is all incidental to the book’s grander purposes. Hagan’s most enviable feat is that he makes this harsh history readable not by portraying Wenner as a redeemable figure (there’s no goblin with a heart of gold here), but instead by centralizing the very ambitious women who made Wenner’s path-blazing possible. Wenner’s ballast throughout the founding and rise of Rolling Stone—and his absolute recklessness with it all—is his ex-wife Jane. (I found myself willing to read about Jann’s tawdry tantrums just for more Jane. Decades on, she is still the real draw.) (…)

As the Majesty of Jane becomes the quiet through line of Rolling Stone’s first two decades, the question looms: When do we get a Jane Wenner book? When will we see the lives of rock’s founding women without having them lensed through the lives of the men around them? Early RS editor Harriet Fier’s experience merits its own book. And we need at least a biopic on the five female RS staffers who in the early ’70s regularly held secret meetings to console and support one another—a group of women who, as Hagan reveals, were the de facto editors of Rolling Stone, putting the magazine together while Joe Eszterhas was at the bar.

Toby Guise: “…the catalyst for the current round of scandal was, in fact, a Labour MP”

Toby Guise writes:

The most serious accusation by far—an actual rape at a party event—also belongs to Labour. Party apparatchiks told the victim to shut up for the sake of her career, without so much as a cup of tea to calm her nerves. At least one more such event is apparently known about. A climate of misogyny has become so widespread under Jeremy Corbyn that the BBC’s female political editor now requires a bodyguard to attend the Party’s national convention. Labour’s most vocal young female MP has recently said left-wing misogynists are “literally” the worst because they also “think they have so much to give the world.”

The left has clearly adopted the view that its rules of conduct are there to be weaponized for partisan ends rather than obeyed.

Jim Goad: Trolling the Fash-Basher

Jim Goad writes:

For years I’ve been making the argument that leftism is little more than cowardly sadism thinly cloaked under a bullshit veneer of tolerance and compassion.

Fifteen years ago I was attacked three different times on Portland’s streets by a group of anti-racist skinheads who are documented police informants and are given carte blanche by the city’s powers-that-be to launch violent mob attacks on anyone they label a “Nazi.”

In a recent feature story on me, a Portland writer who usually reviews local burger joints referred to these skinheads merely as “anti-racist activists,” despite the fact that they’ve been putting people in the hospital for decades with impunity and their group’s leader wriggled out of a murder beef by ratting on a member of his own gang. The level of dishonesty and cowardice from these conformist liars is staggering to behold. While getting pats on the back from local Portlanders for his “brave” story, suddenly the burger reviewer wasn’t nearly so brave after I invited him to come onto my podcast to address the numerous inaccuracies in his story.

The same happened with an editor of Counterpunch, who in the article called me an idiot and bragged to his friends about confronting me—right up to the point where I requested he come on my podcast to actually confront me. Someone needs serious work on his counterpunching skills.

Theodore Dalrymple on Le Corbusier: “Liar, Cheat, Thief, and Plagiarist”

Theodore Dalrymple on Le Corbusier: “Liar, Cheat, Thief, and Plagiarist”

Theodore Dalrymple writes:

To commission a building from Jeanneret was to tie a ball and chain around one’s own ankle, committing oneself to endless, Sisyphean bills for alteration and maintenance, as well as to a dishonest estimate of what the building would cost to build in the first place. A house by Jeanneret was not so much a machine for living in (to quote the most famous of his many fatuous dicta) as a machine for generating costs and for moving out of. In the name of functionality, Jeanneret built what did not work; in the name of mass production, everything he used had to be individually fashioned. Having no human qualities himself, and lacking all imagination, he did not even understand that shade in a hot climate was desirable, indeed essential.
