Summer is in full swing

I have been taking some much needed down time to recover from some serious health issues including a serious brain injury that has left me with permanent cognitive issues. It has been a major adjustment in both my personal life and professional career. Thank you to everyone for their support.

I started painting again last summer which I haven’t done since my college days. I love folk art, especially Maude Lewis, so I am focusing on that kind of traditional art mixed with a little bit of abstract. It is a lot of fun and I am re-learning spacial concepts which in turn is helping me with my memory. You can view what I have been working on, including some of my photography here.

My hope is to try and get back to some writing again later in 2023 and early 2024.

In the meantime, cheers and have a wonderful summer.

Early Retirment

Due to a severe head injury, I am hanging up my muse for a while and retiring from writing. A couple of very bad falls have left me with cognitive and memory issues that I am struggling to recover from. For the moment, I am enjoying reading ... a lot... and spending time with family. I hope to do some traveling thru 2023 and 2024. We shall see what the future brings.

In the mean time, thank you to all my fans and readers who have left some marvelous reviews over the years. What a journey!

Hugs to all. Peace and wellness.

Happy Easter

In these unsettling times, it is nice to reflect on all the good in the world. For many religions it is a time of Faith. I always feel like Easter is a time of re-birth and renewal, hope for a better world, of good things to come.

May all your trails be filled with beauty this day and going forward.

Snow, snow, snow, snow

Well, it is February 22nd and it is snowing here on Vancouver Island. I have been catching up on my reading list with a lap blanket and a cup of tea. Love my tea. I have recently been reading quite a few paranormal cozy books. Have also been reading some Joy Fielding, Dean Koontz, and Tricia O’Malley.

If you are a Kindle Unlimited member and are getting snowed in like I am today, give one of my books a boo. I have middle grade and teen horse stories for ages 8 – 14 as well as my adult funny cozy mystery series. Here is the link to my Amazon Central .com.

Stay warm. Read lots. Hot cocoa with Baileys is a pretty good substitute for tea too. lol

2023 update

Much of 2023 is going to be focusing on recording the audio books for the last two books in The Gumboot & Gumshoe Series, mainly Gertrude & The Sorcerer’s Gold and Chasing Santa, as well as the last two books in The Silver Spurs Series, Bandits, Broads & Dirty Dawgs and Who Killed Cade. The final book in the latter series is still a work in progress as I wasn’t happy with the original story line and am reworking it. I am also thinking of changing the title.

I plan on illustrating The Unicorn Daze Series. I have had several requests from readers. These novels are currently written in an easy to read play format and I will probably revise that formatting. This may take me into 2024 as that is a lot of paintings and I don’t work that fast anymore given I have finally learned to stop and smell the roses, or in my case, sand and salt water. lol

So, it is going to be a busy year. I hope your 2023 is successful and filled with laughter, friends and joy.

As 2022 ends

I look forward to 2023. There will always be new stories to tell and paintings to be crafted. I can’t wait to see where my inner muse takes me and my hope is that my stories and my artwork will inspire someone else to write and to create.

Wishing everyone a joyous new year filled with love and laughter.

Hugs all around.

Update on a 4th book to The Silver Spurs Series

I had a bit of writer’s block and took some time off to decide where this ‘special edition’ to the Silver Spurs Series would go. I have the outline done and am now working on a 4th book which will take place ten years in the future from the trilogy finale, Who Killed Cade. Right now, fans, it is a slow go because of other commitments to it may not be ready until January 2023 even though it is a Christmas story. Sorry about that. 🙂

Mark it on your calendar for October 24th

On October 24th, The Silver Spurs Home for Aging Cowgirls will be FREE on Amazon worldwide. READ NOW AT: Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, Amazon.UK, Amazon.AU.

A dead guy, a Saint Bernard and an old lady walk into an outhouse – okay two out of three do!

The Montana family just wanted to save their ranch!

When the Montana family take in four saucy senior ladies and their horses, life gets complicated indeed. Turns out three of the four women aren’t cowgirls and all of their horses are stallions. Throw in a cheating husband and a jealous mistress, the word ‘baggage’ takes on a whole new meaning. Oh, and then there is the wanted felon on the loose in the hills and two men vying for the hand of a pretty widow.

If you think senior living means the party is over, then you haven’t spent a night at the Silver Spurs Home for Aging Cowgirls where romance is in the air and flirting with another woman’s man can be murder. Do you know what your grandmother is up to?
