Reality vs Fiction
During a plotting session this morning it occurred to me that I absolutely dread the question:
WHY DOES THE HERO/HEROINE FALL IN LOVE WITH THE HEROINE/HERO?
I wish I could simply say, "Um, because?" But of course that's not acceptable, and I'm not saying it should be. The reader certainly deserves a better answer than that! However, it made me think....in reality two people really DO fall in love "just because."
Think about it.
Are you with your significant other because they bravely rescued you from a devious vampire plot in which you were being used as a pawn? Or were the two of you thrust together to use your whits to stop a threat against King and country, which you successfully foiled while falling madly in love w/one another's ability to overcome grave danger? Perhaps, but most likely not.
Personally, I've been with my husband for 20 years, married for nearly 18 of them and it's not because he fought off masked marauders while wearing nothing but a towel and a sexy smirk. I fell in love because he was okay with me being me and I'm still in love because he continues to be a great father and supportive husband. Could he fight off masked marauders while wearing nothing but a towel? Probably. Would he if I needed him to? Yes, most definitely.
My point? Sometimes it's not the sex in a romance or erotic novel that's the most far-fetched part of the relationship. Sometimes it's the NEED to give two people a reason to love one another when the reason might simply be they are who the other one WANTS to love.
Just some food for thought. Carry on with yourselves now, and as always, happy reading!

Update
Rest assured, dear readers, I am writing!! Life, however, has a funny way of preventing one from doing as much writing as they might like. I won't bore you with details or excuses, but suffice to say, my latest WIP has been a bit of a beast to get a handle on. I think I'm finally on a good path though and hope to have it finished by the end of the year. After that it's up to the powers that be to say, yay or nay.
I'll keep everyone updated as regularly as possible, and thank you to all my loyal readers for your patience. Thank you also to those of you who keep pushing me in the right direction. You know who you are. ;)
Until the day comes for a new release, don't forget you can follow me on Twitter, Tumblr & Facebook for daily news and nonsense.
Stay vampy, my friends!!

Website woes
For some reason, Yahoo Sitebuilder decided to quit working this morning, leaving me without any means to update my website. After exhaustive searching/googling online to try and find a solution to this problem I came up empty-handed. I have no idea why Sitebuilder is not compatible with Windows 7 nor do I understand why Yahoo seems disinclined to fix this compatibility issue.
So what do I do?
I would be more than willing to host my websites elsewhere but will I be able to keep my domain name registered with Yahoo? If anyone reads this and has any suggestions or advice I'd be very appreciative. I never claimed to be a computer whiz and this situation has me yanking at my hair. :/
