Productive Tuesday

Busy-busy-busy: that was today, and will continue to be for another 2-3 hours.

But before I go any further...the redesign of my primary website is now live.  I liked many things about the old one, so we kept some of that,  but changed the navigation schema. 

Now to the day:  it started with a trip to the bank (at 9) and then a trip down to the city, carrying along the current state of the master map for the new Paks series (in a map tube--it's big) and two detail maps traced from it (flat...

Gulf Ecology and the Oil Spill: ramifications

The implications of the Deepwater Horizon blowout are obvious in some ways (oiled pelicans, dead turtles, air pollution from burning oil)  and less so in others.  To discuss this in any depth, it's necessary to give some background on what's going on with marine ecosystems in a time of rapid change in atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) and the  pH of ocean water (it's becoming more acidic) and rising sealevel.
