Marketing mistakes... We've all made them and we all want to kick ourselves when we realize the errors of our ways.

And then, if we haven't learned our lesson, we go and make 'em again!

Marsha Friedman Well, in today's post, guest expert Marsha Friedman is sharing her story about the valuable lesson she learned from a marketing mistake she made and how she makes sure she doesn't make that one again!

The pre-pub stage for Annabelle

Right now I am heavy into all the pre-pub stage for my first short fiction e-booknext book, Annabelle (http://www.nancychristie.com/annabell... Hall Press).

It's due out in September, which means I have less than six weeks to get beta readers, get on the list for reviewers, connect with those who interview authors/fiction writers, write some press releases, update all social media pages and, oh yes, continue to do the client projects that pay the bills.

Yikes!

Maximizing your blog's potential

Blogs are a terrific way to connect with your readers—assuming of course, that you know how to design and develop one, what to post on it once it's up, and how to connect your blog posts with all those readers trolling the Web looking for something new and exciting and informative.

It's not an easy task, and for those of us who started before blogs were little more than a twinkle in some techie's eye, it can be a real challenge to know what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. 'Tis a verita...

Writer's Conferences — Do's and Don'ts

At the last meeting of Monday Night Writers, one of the members mentioned he had attended his first writing conference ever, and how much he enjoyed the experience.

That brought back memories of my first conference, when it seemed unbelievable that I could be in the same room with real writers. I didn't think of myself as one of them—I was just someone who did some writing but didn't have a book or a clips portfolio to show anyone.

Since then, I have stressed to other writers that being a "writ...
