Weekend Writing Prompt for 6.12.21
“Visit to the office.”
Write the middle of the story, using the provided beginning and conclusion.
[Opening] The appointment was for 1:30 in the afternoon, but he arrived fifteen minutes early, afraid that he might be delayed and miss his chance. The outer room was empty: no receptionist, no waiting clients. And the door that led to the executive office was ajar. He shifted his case to his left hand and went toward the open door…
[closing] He gently opened the door and peered into the waiting room. Still empty. So far, everything had gone according to plan. He took a deep breath, crossed to the exit door and left.
