News Roundup W/E 2022-02-27
It’s the end of the month, we’ve got not one – but two! – new episodes of the H. P. Lovecast Podcast online.
Thumbnail by Michele BrittanyFirst, on H. P. Lovecast Present: Fragments, we have a longer form interview with author/editor/podcast Eric Raglin. We discuss his podcast, Cursed Morsels, and his recently released anthology, Antifa Splatterpunk. The episode can be streamed at this listing at our Buzzsprout website.
Thumbnail by Michele BrittanyNext, we have our monthly Transmissions episode. In this episode, as part of our support for Bram Stoker preliminary ballot/final ballot folks, we interview Mathias Clasen, Angela Yuriko Smith, Aric Cushing and Logan Thomas. This episode can be streamed at this listing at our Buzzsprout website. Of course, both episodes can be listened to via your podcast app of preference.
Scholars from the Edge of TimeMichele and I had our monthly Scholars from the Edge of Time appearance on Hercules Invictus’ program. In this episode we talk about Barbarella! Check it out on BlogTalkRadio.
There’s No Such Thing as Vampires ReleaseAric Cushing and Logan Thomas (see podcast above) are the creative team behind the retrowave 80s inspired film, There’s No Such Thing as Vampires.
Poster courtesy of Logan ThomasWhile Cushing and Thomas appeared on our podcast, years ago we appeared in their film! Michele and I had the opportunity to play dead bodies in There’s No Such Thing as Vampires, and what an awesome experience it was.
Let the bodies hit the floor. The movie has now been officially released to the home watching markets: it can be rented on Amazon Prime or bought on Blu-Ray (which is full of lots of features, including a “making of” documentary). Thomas’ synthwave soundtrack can even be bought from Amazon Music. Check it all out!
Things in the Well Closing ShopSmall press publisher Things in the Well is in the process of shuttering its operations. This means two anthologies they’ve published that I have stories in will be out of print.

Trickster’s Treats #3: The Seven Deadly Sins, which contains my story “Journey to Agharti,” already has the Kindle version delisted from Amazon. There are only two physical copies left.
Guilty Pleasures and Other Dark Delights, which contains my story “Seamed Stocking Summoning Circle,” still has Kindle and physical copies for sale.
Act fast on these books! I don’t have any upcoming venues to have the story/drabble republished, so it will be a while before they see print again. Editors interested in republishing these pieces in other anthologies, feel free to contact me.
Highlander Call for PapersMichele has an active CFP on the Highlander franchise. She is looking for essays on the Highlander movies, the television show, comics, everything.

If you’re interested, check out the CFP at her website and please share with others. With a possible reboot on the horizon, this is definitely a book you want to be a part of.
Unofficial Emmanuelle / Black Emanuelle CFPSometime in the latter half of 2022 (after I am finished with AnnRadCon 2022) I plan on publishing an official CFP calling for essays on Emmanuelle and its sequels and spinoffs, Black Emanuelle and its sequels, and all other Emmanuelle knockoffs. I already have an interested publisher, but I want to present to them a fully laid out TOC for an ambitious collection as this.

Though my CFP will not go live until later 2022, if you have any interest in being a part of this collection, let me know! Send me an email or social media message (see my about me page for contact info) to let me know your interest. If you have an abstract already, even better.
General Neo-Peplum NewsMatt Page Podcast AppearanceMatt Page, author of the upcoming 100 Bible Films, had an appearance on The Online Movie Show with Phil Hall podcast, where, of course, Biblical pepla was brought up.

General Neo-Peplum NewsThermae Romae Novae TrailerOn March 28 Netflix will begin streaming the neo-peplum anime Thermal Romae Novae, which is about a Roman bath designer who accidentally time travels to modern day Japan.
A trailer has been released! Not many animes or mangas dealing with antiquity, so this is quite cool.

Tiki Melange ArticleIt has been a while, but I have a new article at my website – a cocktail article!

It’s about the Tiki Melange cocktail that can be found in the comic book Jasper’s Starlight Tavern. It’s not a good comic or drink but I had fun writing about it. The article can be read here.
Highlander Call for PapersMichele has an active CFP on the Highlander franchise. She is looking for essays on the Highlander movies, the television show, comics, everything.

General Neo-Peplum NewsTarzan and the Lion of JudahTarzan is not a peplum property, but he is a strong man that shares imagery with a majority of sword and sandal protagonists, and he was also in the peplum novel, Tarzan and the Lost Empire, so I am counting this news as peplum-adjacent.
Cover art provided by Gary A. BuckinghamGary A. Buckingham (Tarzan: Untamed Frontiers) is publishing a new Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc. authorized book titled Tarzan and the Lion of Judah. The book contains eight stories and is available in a variety of editions: a sketch letter edition with a Dan Parson Remarque for $175, a limited numbered edition with signed bookplate for $118, and a trade edition with a signed bookplate for $56. Tarzan and the Lion of Judah is slated to be released this March. For more information or ordering details, contact Buckingham at gbucking2@yahoo.com.
Recent AcquisitionsScholar Rocky Colavito brought to my attention a magazine called The Lost Films Fanzine. The zine is focused not strictly on lost films, but films that were supposed to get made, but for a variety of reasons, did not.

Issue eight of the zine prominently features on the cover a movie called Hercules Against the Gods, with Hercules fighting a giant dragon-dinosaur-looking monster. So, of course, I had to order this.
The article, citing Peplum TV, suspects that the unmade Hercules Against the Gods film was actually, more or less, filmed, but it became The Vengeance of Hercules. It’s a fun read that gives a glimpse into the American process of importing and rejiggering Italian films for state-side audiences.

During the week Michele and I took a trip to Zia’s since she was procuring some Highlander releases. I plucked up a used copy of the Dragonheart collection. I had seen the first movie long, long ago but never any of the sequels. I’ve heard of them, and also heard that their quality is extremely lacking. But, I have a soft spot for franchise continuations (I stand by the Scanner Cop movies are legit awesome) so I decided to buy this set. It’s sword and sorcery, with the first movie having shades of Arthurian-peplum, so I’m interested.

Powerslave: Exhumed was just released digitally last week and I bought it off the Xbox marketplace and have been playing it off an on. I was a huge PC gamer in the 90s, and I still love classic DOS style FPS like Doom and Duke Nukem 3D. Powerslave looks to have been released at the height of Doom clones, but I had never heard of it before (I may have seen it in a PC Gamer mag?). Regardless, it’s old school and its Egyptian antiquity (thus: neo-peplum!). I am a bit into the game and its…… I dunno. I really want to like it, but it has some questionable mechanics (no reticle, so it’s hard to hit airborne enemies), way too much platforming for a faux 3D FPS, and it is extremely, extremely cryptic at what you need to do to progress. Aside from that, I like the 90s charm and the soundtrack is banging.

Houston, We Have a Problem: The Tiki Melange
Jasper’s Starlight Tavern is a space-comedy comic strip created by Bob Salley and Jason Sparich, that focuses on the interactions the staff of an intergalactic space bar have with their patrons. In 2021 there was a Kickstarter to release the comic in a variety of formats including a compact, hardcover edition.
My copy of Jasper’s Starlight Tavern from the KickstarterLike an alluring neon sign, the cover of Jasper’s Starlight Tavern draws readers in with promises of vibrant and terrific artwork. In this department, JST delivers more than promised. The art by Juan Calle in conjunction with the coloring of Don Mathias are stunning. Every character looks distinct, each panel pops off the page with a rainbow of colors that emulate well produced cartoons.
The writing for JST, however, does not live up to its amazing art. The comic strip relies heavily on cameos of characters from popular or cult science fiction sources (usually films and television shows) to convey its humor. Specifically it is the presence of the guest character themselves that is each strip’s punchline; the cameo-ed entity rarely performs any (funny) actions at all.
The following page from JST illustrates up the comic’s style of humor:

The joke of the page is literally “we need an extra set of hands because there are a lot of vehicles in the drive through” and those vehicles happen to be spaceships from a variety of sci-fi sources (an Imperial Star Destroyer, a Borg Cube, the Satellite of Love, the Normandy, and so on). There is also Lobot, but they stand a drooling mess.
Of particular interest is the appendix of cocktails made specifically for the book titled “Interstellar Mixology Guide.” There’s no bartender or mixologist credited so one has to assume the writers created the recipes themselves. There’s eight cocktails: Dr. Zoidrosé, Tiki Melange, The Imposter, Mocha-Dimensional Madness, Galactic Committee, The Solitude, The Kraken Strikes Back, and the Ecto 1. Each drink is paired with a drawing of what the cocktail looks like in the JST universe, ingredients, and measurements. There are no directions of any kind for the cocktails. Stirred? Shook? Swizzled? With or without ice? Strained? Floated? These are all absent.
The Tiki Melange is the JST’s attempt at a tiki cocktail.

Tiki Melange
1.5 oz Kraken Spiced Rum.5 oz Oregeat [sic] Syrup (or Amaretto)1 oz Lime1 o PineappleLooking at the ingredients along with the artistic depiction, it is fairly obvious that this cocktail will not work with primitive Earth mixolo-technology and ingredients, but it is a curio and warrants a deeper dive.
Limited edition Kraken from the personal stash.First the Kraken Spiced rum; this is not necessarily a bad call. Spiced rums get a lot of hate in the tiki community, usually under the guise of “you don’t know what is in spiced rum, it could be anything” and “you should be able to control what your drink tastes like.” To the first sentiment – pluck up a bottle of Kraken and look at its label: “rum with natural flavors and caramel colour.” Now pick up your bottle of Angostura bitters (the salt and pepper of the cocktail world) and read its ingredients: “alcohol, water, sugar, gentian, natural flavors and caramel color.” Natural flavors can mean anything, so why is it not acceptable in spiced rums but acceptable in Ango (and other bitters)? True, Ango has been around for a long, long, long time – but its still proprietary of what is in it and that is obfuscated. The best way to view spiced rum is to invision it as a rum that has built in bitters. Take a drink of spiced rum. Now you know what it tastes like. Now you know (control) what is going in your drink. For the Tiki Melange, one definitely does not want to use a pricier rum in the cocktail, and the Kraken imagery of tentacles go hand-in-hand with Lovecraftian cosmic horror.
Next, the amaretto or orgeat. These two ingredients are not interchangeable; their only commonality is they are both sweet and both have almond flavors. One is a syrup and the other is a liqueur: they achieve different functions in cocktails. One can walk into an establishment and order an amaretto sour and enjoy a fantastic drink. One would not order an orgeat sour as this would be an affront to all cocktails in existence. For best practice, treat the two as non-interchangable.
Finally the lime and pineapple. These are often found together in many tiki drinks, with the Jungle Bird being a notable example that uses both to balance its bitter Campari. The Tiki Melange is far from balanced.
Looking at the art work, there is no way these ingredients can achieve this look on their own. There are no directions, but because citrus is present, the best practice is to shake with ice and then strain. There’s no ice in the cocktail proper, so it is either getting its coldness from being shook with ice and/or the futuristic glassware being chilled. There is the slim, but possible, chance that the drink is dry shook and poured into a chilled glass. There is also a color gradient in the drink: brownish red on the bottom, yellow on top. That coloring is not from the square glassware, so is this cocktail floating its lime and pineapple on top of the orgeat and Kraken? Typically it is the other way around: the rum is floated on top. There is also a lack of foam on top of the drink, which would be present if the drink was shook with pineapple juice. With this aspect in mind, the cocktail was either stirred (with no ice) or left out for a length of time for the foam to disperse, both of which are horrible practices for this (or any) type of libation.
The Tiki Melange is a paradox, so the best way to tackle it is to make both versions: an orgeat Tiki Melange and an amaretto Tiki Melange.

The orgeat Tiki Melange has a brownish foam, with the pineapple dominating with the lime in a close second. The Kraken, surprisingly for having a fairly distinct taste, is absent from the flavor profile. There is a slight sweetness from the orgeat, but not much.

The amaretto Tiki Melange has a white foam, with the pineapple also dominating. This incarnation is more tart than the orgeat incarnation. Both have awful colors and should not be served in clear glassware.
Though the art depicts the drink without ice, but this cocktail needs to have ice in it to be even remotely palpable. The pineapple and lime are fighting for dominance in both versions as this drink is horribly unbalanced. It can be suspected that this cocktail is attempting to be an extremely stripped down version of the Royal Hawaiian Mai Tai.

Neither iteration of the Tiki Melange taste well. Unfortunately for folks who are adventurous and like to try new cocktails, the other exclusive cocktails featured in Jasper’s Starlight Tavern look to suffer the same fate. While the comic book delivers spectacularly with its artwork, it burns up in orbit with its humor and cocktail recipes.

My essay, “Cullzathro Fhtagn! Magnifying the Carnivalesque in Lovecraft Through the Comic Book Series Vinegar Teeth,” has made the preliminary Bram Stoker Award ballot in the short non-fiction category. Note: this does not denote I am nominated or a finalist. It simply means I am on the preliminary ballot and have a 50% chance to advance to the final ballot.
Active and Lifetime members of the Horror Writers Association who would like to read my essay for final ballot consideration (which closes February 15th) you can find it online at Academia.edu. Note: if there is a big ad in the way taking up the screen, just hit the X at the top right. Academia.edu is silly that way.

I actually have not seen this film since most older releases are way OOP so you better believe I pre-ordered this. Side note: I dig Albert Pyun films, with Cyborg and Nemesis being my favorites.
Zeus Super Bowl CommericalI’m always down for some neo-peplum commercials (anyone remember the Gladiator/Jif one from last year?)

Per Cinema Blend, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Salma Hayek will star as Zeus and Hera respectively in a series of Super Bowl ads for BMW.
Recent AcquisitionsI love buying art prints and getting commissions done when at comic books cons. I’ve made lots of friends over the years going to cons and I’ve accumulated quite a bit of art!
I was only passingly familiar with Les Edwards, due to him doing the cover art of Hero Quest, but I am certain I’ve seen his sword and sorcery artwork in other places. Recently, I am not sure where, but I saw his art piece, The Invocation, and I was just mesmerized by it. Simply a beautiful piece. Yes, there is a naked lady featured prominently, but the sky in the background – I am always in awe in powerful skies. When I see a cloud filled sky, be it ominous with storm clouds or full of huge, puffy white ones, I get that feeling of “something big is coming.” The Invocation does that.
Anywho, turns out Edwards has a website and sells prints of his work. So, I ordered a print of The Invocation.

Even autographed to me. I love it.
On Sunday Michele and I went to Half Price Books (we had not been in a while) to scour material for some of our respective projects.

I may double dipped on that Historic Epics boxset, but if I did, it’s in an inaccessible box. For sure though I didn’t have that Hail, Caesar! soundtrack. Coen Brothers films usually have fantastic soundtracks, and since Hail, Caesar! is a fantastic neo-peplum and one of the source films that launched The New Peplum, I had to pluck it up.

General Neo-Peplum NewsRecent AcquisitonsBeen a while since I plucked up some pepla films. I went on Amazon and procured these two items:

I’d never seen Ulysses before, but Justin Decloux mentioned it as an essential sword and sandal film in one of the supplements in his release of Fury of Achilles (read my write up) and it’s been on the wish list to get for a while, so time to scoop it up.
I was also in the mood for some 80s sword and sorcery. The new Blu-ray releases of the Deathstalker films from Shout Factory are already out of print! So this four pack will do instead, and that’s fine. But seriously, some Shout Factory Blu-Rays just go OOP right away. I recall last year trying to find their versions of Slumber Party Massacre 2 and 3 and what the hell?
While exploring the Transcending Obscurity Records Bandcamp site I happened upon the neo-peplum metal album Dust of Aeons by Towards Atlantis Nights.

I ordered this album back in November I believe and it came all the way from India, arriving last week. I’ll be giving it a listen this upcoming week. Cool cover!

General Neo-Peplum NewsRest in Peplum Mark ForestStalwart sword and sandal veteran Mark Forest passed away at the age of 89 (article at Ansa). Along with the likes of Steve Reeves, Alan Steel, Reg Park, and Ed Fury, Forest literally and figuratively carried classic Italian pepla on his back.

He appeared in numerous historic epics:
The Egyptian (1954)Goliath and the Dragon (1960)Son of Samson (1960)Mole Men Against the Son of Hercules (1961)Colossus of the Arena (1962)Goliath and the Sins of Babylon (1963)Hercules Against the Mongols (1963)Hercules Against the Barbarians (1964)The Lion of Thebes (1964)Hercules Against the Sons of the Sun (1964)The Magnificent Gladiator (1964)Kindar the Invulnerable (1965)The Terror of Rome Against the Son of Hercules (1964)Rest in Peplum Matt JacobsI received news that artist and comic book illustrator Matt Jacobs passed away back in December.
Matt holding a drawing he did of Jason Voorhees in Michele’s sketchbook.I’ve had the honour to know Matt since the early 2010s. He was a staple to the various Los Angeles and surrounding area comic book conventions, typically present at the Fanbase Press booth. He did the illustrations to one of their early comics, The Arcs, which is also his contribution to the neo-peplum genre. He was fun to talk with, especially about gory horror films.
He was a versatile dude, doing projects for Faith No More and Howard Stern. His art can still be seen on his Instagram account. He did this incredible sketch on an Army of Darkness blank cover as a gift to me back in 2014.
Can you spot all the cameos?I have not seen Matt for a couple years, he kinda feel off the radar and stopped showing up to conventions. I only just found out via Fanbase Press that he passed away. He will be missed.
Gorgon Volume 2 Comic KickstarterJay Fotos is doing a Kickstarter for volume 2 of a comic called Gorgon. Shades of neo-peplum are present! Kickstarter campaign can be found here.

Here it is, the cover of the next issue of Exotica Moderne:

This issue contains my interview with the wonderful stockings pinup, Miss Corsair Debonair, who was gracious to provide exclusive photos. If you’d like a sneak peek of one of them, here you go:
Photo by Miss Corsair DebonairKeep an eye on The House of Tabu website when the magazine becomes available for ordering. I’ve had the honour to write for all 14 issues of Exotica Moderne so far, but alas, I will have to skip issue 15 since that will be focused on the huge Tiki Caliente event. But no worries, I got lots more articles in the pipeline for the magazine. I appreciate all the folks who’ve read my interviews, reviews, and essays that have appeared in the magazine so far.
“Magnificent Maleficarum”I recently did a write up on unboxing The Witches’ Bundle version of Severin Films’ new folk horror boxset, All Haunts Be Ours.I also did a mini interview with Howard David Ingham who contributed to the set (tarot cards and documentary).

Magnificent Maleficarum: Severin’s All the Haunts Be Ours and Howard David Ingham Interview
Severin Films are known for various versions of their DVD and Blu-ray releases, ranging from slipcases to ornate boxsets with exclusive features and small doodads while always delivering on content proper: best prints possible, commentaries, and other supplements.
Perhaps their most ambitious release yet, Severin released a boxset of folk horror films called All the Haunts Be Ours: A Compendium of Folk Horror. The standard edition of this boxset houses fifteen discs along with a book and a soundtrack. Of course, for a few pennies more, one could have ordered The Witches’ Bundle of the release which contains a treasure trove of additional goodies.
Original advert for The Witches’ Bundle versionWhat follows is an unboxing of The Witches’ Bundle edition of All the Haunts Be Ours interspersed with interview segments with Howard David Ingham, a folk horror expert that has material in the release.

The parcel that The Witches’ Bundle came in was huge. Wide and unwieldy, but at least not super heavy. The exterior was printed with the All The Haunts Be Ours artwork in gold. Very classy.
Algernon (tabby) and Cecily (tortie). Cats also show scale.Of course, my kitty familiars are intrigued by the parcel and what treasure lie within.

When opened the contents are covered a healthy amount of packing peanuts. This is good for shipping, but it will be a nightmare to get them all back in the box and be able to close the lid.

The first object pulled forth from the parcel was a grimoire entitled Of Mud & Flame. A thick book, this tome will make for great reading later.

Next up are a set of three stickers with some fantastic art. It’s a shame that special editions like these only come with one set of stickers as folks need at least two: one set to keep pristine and the other to put on things. The top right sticker is a Hand of Glory (as seen in The Wicker Man). The one on the left with the sickle makes me think of the song “The Sickle and the Setting Sun” by Awen.

There was a wrapped packet that felt incredibly heavy.
This image doesn’t do the pendant justice at just how big it was.Carefully unwrapping it one comes across a replica of the pendant from Alison’s Birthday. This pendant was heavy and quite large.

And The Owl Service Melamine Plate! A bonafide plate! It’s a wee bit different than the advert (which shows a bumpy circumference while this one is a pure circle).
Served on the plate none-the-less!Next up is a completely impractical keychain modeled from The Witchhhammer. This would not fare well to one’s leg if put into a front pocket.

A rolled scroll of incantations protected inside this tube perhaps?
Stunning.Even better, a full sized movie poster of the documentary Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched: A History of Folk Horror. The art used on this poster (and subsequent packaging) is simply stunning. It will need to be kept safe inside its tube until a suitable frame can be procured.

Finally, the meat-and-potatoes of the whole package: the boxset of All Haunts Be Ours proper.

The boxset is housed in a sturdy box which allows the Blu-ray set and booklet to slip out easily.

The Blu-rays proper stored in an accordion-style package. Each page in the booklet houses a movie with corresponding artwork.
One of the films in this set is the aforementioned Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched documentary (which Severin sells by itself). One of the experts interviewed in the documentary is Howard David Ingham, author of the Bram Stoker nominated book We Don’t Go Back: A Watcher’s Guide to Folk Horror.
How did you come to be involved in the Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched documentary?
Back in 2018, Kier-La Janisse contacted me to ask if I’d be interviewed for a documentary about folk horror, and a very nice man named Neil Edwards came to ask me some questions. At the time the plan was to have it as a Blu-ray extra, but Kier-La’s project, unknown to me at the time, expanded in scope and became something bigger and more important. I thought no more about it until I saw my name on the Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched press release a couple of years later, and then suddenly I’m in a spectacular, award-winning documentary, which is pretty-mind-blowing, really.
What are your impressions of the documentary and what do you think it uniquely accomplishes?
I think the film is stunning, beautifully put together, exhaustive and it taught me stuff. I think the very best and most groundbreaking parts are in the sections about American and international folk horror – parts I’m not in, I might add, but I don’t think they’re the best bits because of that – which stake a very solid claim to be the first real authoritative document on what folk horror means outside of the UK.
Of all the movies presented in the All the Haunts Be Ours boxset, which is your personal favourite?
That’s a hard one to answer, because there are several I haven’t seen yet (and I don’t have my boxset yet!). Of the ones I have seen, I cannot recommend VIY enough. It’s a glorious, magical film and everyone should see it.
For someone new to folk horror, what film in the set do you think they should start with to ease into the genre.
That’s a hard one. But if you want a grounding in British folk horror, Robin Redbreast, the original Pagan Village Conspiracy film, is essential. For Americans, I would suggest starting with Eyes of Fire. But again it’s hard, because there’s a bunch of rarities I haven’t seen yet! Honestly, it might be just as good for you to dive right in and pick whatever film looks the most exciting to you!

If one needs assistance at grounding many of the folk horror films in the real world, The Witches’ Bundle comes with a map of folk horror!
The map is housed in a beautiful envelope depicting a sacrifice of a rabbit.

Housed inside is also a postcard with a floral stag. This reminds me of the song “The Wounded Stag” by Lux Interna.
Asking for directions. The map proper is two sided. The front side shows Europe depicting where each folk horror film takes place.

The front and the back also contain a description of each locale.

An example of the entry for The Wicker Man.

And finally, the last object in the whole bundle is a set of tarot cards. The exterior box is thick and sturdy.

Inside one will find a set of tarot cards with unique art and names along with a guide book with a hypnotic cover.

The tarot guide book was written by none other than Ingham!
You wrote the booklet for the Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched tarot card set. What was that experience like and how did you go about writing the interpretations for each card?
I’d done some work on Tarot and alternative Tarot interpretations before, so I had a familiarity with the Tarot as a thing, and in particular Tarot writing. It was a lot of fun to take those folk horror classics and draw fortunes from them, full of dread and poetry.
Which card resonates the strongest with you?
Bagpuss, because I am saggy and loose at the seams, but I am nonetheless loved.

The Witches’ Bundle is an impressive and immersive release. Between the films, documentary, soundtrack, books, and other material, there’s literally weeks worth of subversive content to explore. Though The Witches’ Bundle has long sold out, the boxset of films proper is still available at the Severin website. For those who have only seen The Wicker Man or Midsommar, this release acts as a primer to get into the folk horror genre.
Sincere thank you to Howard David Ingham for his answers. You can find him at his Room 207 Press website.
If you liked this coverage of The Witches’ Bundle, check out my other Severin write ups: The Blood Island boxset in Exotica Moderne #3 and Horrors of Spider Island in Exotica Moderne #9. Next month Severin releases the Eurosleaze pepla films Caligula The Untold Story and Caligula and Messalina. I am extremely excited for both as I can put my sword and sandal scholarship to test!
