Son: How are rocks formed?

Mother: Some people just get tired of being wrong, so they stop learning.

Tulsa, I just this morning finished what feels like the most accomplished mathematical piece I’ve written, and I can’t wait to be back on the road making my way over to you so we can put our cards on the table and get on with it.

The Ark

March 2, 2018

Only place I ever walked off a stage. Because I didn’t wanna dance, monkey. Arkansas. Only place I ever physically bowed a man down for his liberal use of the word faggot. Arkansas. Smallest show I ever gave (4 people, 2002). Arkansas. Where I became so overwhelmed with exhaustion on a Revival tour that I just stopped and cried on stage, for far too long. Minutes. Where I met a man named Houston and became friends with The Listener. Where I got the biggest check I ever saw for poetry. Arkansas. I’m coming over and you sweet beasts are all welcome here.

Into the Oakland show walks Clayton Quintero from bananastandrecords.com with 75 vinyl records of We Were Emergencies/My Town. He tells me he’s made them for me to sell and donate all the proceeds…
