Desires of Your Heart
Will God give you all the desires of you heart? This isexactly what Psalm 37 verse 4 says:
Delight yourself in the Lord,
and he will give you the desiresof your heart.
I’m sure there are many false prophets out there that loveto quote this verse out of context to tell you that all you have to do is delightin the Lord and whatever you want, the Lord will give it to you.
Well, that’s only part of the story. Read the next verse becausethere is a condition and explanation of what it means to delight in the Lord.Verse 5 says,
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act.
Delighting in the Lord means committing all that you are tothe Lord. It means you commit to having all his holiness, his righteousness,his glory (to name a few things) are what you want as a result of living forthe Lord.
When you delight in the Lord in this way, then the desiresof your heart will bring him glory. You will only ask for things that bringglory to God according to his will. Then, when you trust him to work out hiswill, he will act.
If you don’t know Jesus as your Lord, then you can’tpossibly delight in him, and you won’t get the desires of your heart becausethe desires of a person who hasn’t come to know Jesus for salvation is onlyevil in God’s sight according to Genesis 6, verse 5.
To know Jesus Christ and have the desires of you heartchanged to be the same as the Lord’s, watch my video on the Gospel on myprofile page or on YouTube.
God Bless you.

Don’t Fret Over Evil
Do you watch the news and get all jerked out of shapebecause of the evils you see?Well, here is what David had to say about that in Psalm 37verses 1 through 3.Fret not yourself because ofevildoers;
be not envious of wrongdoers!
For they will soon fade like thegrass
and wither like the green herb.
Trust in the Lord, and do good;
dwell in the land and befriendfaithfulness.
The Lord doesn’t say there won’t be evil people around orthat they are out of his control. We must remember that they will not be aroundforever. Their lives are like grass that dries up in the hot sun without water.
Instead of focusing on them, we must trust in the Lord totake care of them and while we are waiting, we are to do good. While we live onthis alien planet that isn’t our forever home, we must be faithful.
We must be faithful to pray for the wicked and do what wecan to share the gospel with them. That gospel tells of salvation for them and youif you don’t know Jesus. If you don’t know Jesus, then you are counted with theevildoers.

Dangerous Half-Truth
Telling people that God loves them the way they are is adangerous half-truth.Look at the way it should be told starting in Psalm 36:7 andending in verse 12.
How precious is your steadfastlove, O God!
The children of mankind takerefuge in the shadow of your wings.
Isn’t that a great promise? But that isn’t all there is.The psalm goes on with more comforting words, but it finisheswith verse 12.
There the evildoers lie fallen;
they are thrust down, unable torise.
If I just read the first 11 verses I would only be tellinghalf of the truth. I would be just like the preachers and the Christian radioDJs who like to say, “God loves you just the way you are.”
That is only half the truth. The rest is that he doesn’twant you to stay the way you are no matter how good or bad you are.
If you know Jesus and you don’t change and grow in holinessyou will be disciplined, Hebrews 12:10 says, “He disciplines us for our good,that we may share his holiness.”
If you do not know Jesus Christ for salvation the danger ofonly hearing half of the truth is that you may think you don’t have to change.
If you stay the way you are, Jesus says in Luke 13:3, “No, Itell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.”

Heart Problems
What is the real problem with wicked people?It is expressed clearly in Psalm 36 verses 1-2.
Transgression speaks to the wickeddeep in his heart;
there is no fear of God before hiseyes.
For he flatters himself in his owneyes
that his iniquity cannot be foundout and hated.
The problem is a heart problem. They are wicked because theydon’t fear God.
The psalmist isn’t just talking about being afraid of God.
The problem is that there it no reverence for God.
There is no understanding about how awesome he is.
They think they are greater than God and can hide their evildeeds from God.
If they knew God, then they would understand that not onlydoes God see what they are doing, but he will repay them for what they do.
God does hate their evil.
What about you? Do you think God doesn’t see your sins.
Do you think he will ignore them just because you aren’t asbad as the next person?
Well, think again. Your only hope is to know God throughJesus Christ.

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire
Have you heard the expression “Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire,” toshame someone who is deceitful? Maybe quoting Psalm 34:13-14 would work better.
Keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speakingdeceit.
Turn away from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.
The Word of God is always a better rebuke because it has thepower of our Sovereign Lord in it.
The second reason to quote these verses is that they providean alternative to lying.
The way for us to overcome lying is to stop it and to dogood.
If we seek true peace for those we speak with, we will not lieto them.
True peace can only be found in Jesus Christ.
We can’t lie about that and say there is any other way ofsalvation than through him.
If you want to know Jesus and his peace, watch my video onthe Gospel on my profile page or on YouTube.

Can you say along with David in Psalm 34:1-3, that you willbless the Lord at all times?
Listen to what he said:
I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be inmy mouth.
My soul makes its boast in theLord;
let the humble hear and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his nametogether!
At all times, that means when times are good or bad youstill praise and acknowledge the goodness of God.
You don’t think less of God when you go through trials ormore of him when things are all peachy.
You praise him with your mouth so that others will hear andknow that God is good.
Your soul, your innermost being boasts in the Lord. Thatmeans you know deep down in your gut that you are trusting him in allcircumstances.
Humble people, those who fear the Lord and have placed theirfaith in Jesus then hear you and are glad.
So you invite them to magnify the Lord along with you.
You tell how great God is and in doing this you and allother Jesus followers will express the greatness of the name of God and Jesus.
You can’t do that if you don’t know Jesus.

The Lord Sees You
Have you considered that the Lord seesyou? Here is what Psalm 33:13-15 says,
The Lord looks down from heaven;
he sees all the children of man;
from where he sits enthroned helooks out
on all the inhabitants of theearth,
he who fashions the hearts of themall
and observes all their deeds.
That could be very scary to think about if you are doingsomething wrong and even worse if you don’t know Jesus.
I’ll bet most people don’t really think about the fact thatGod sees everything we do.
The Bible says he sees all the children of man. He doesn’tjust watch the important people of the world, but every one of us.
It says he sits enthroned and looks at everyone. Beingenthroned means he is sovereign and in control of all things.
He has made our hearts and even knows what is going on inour innermost thoughts.
So, he sees more than our deeds but also our motivation.
We can’t hide anything from him.
He knows if you really know him or not. You can’t pretend tobe a Christian and get away with it.
If you know Jesus, then knowing God watches you should be acomfort and not scary.

God’s Instruction
Do you want to learn from God?Here is what Psalm 32 says in verses 8 through 10.
I will instruct you and teach youin the way you should go;
I will counsel you and watch overyou.
Do not be like the horse or themule,
which have no understanding
but must be controlled by bit andbridle
or they will not come to you.
Many are the woes of the wicked,
but the Lord's unfailing love
surrounds the man who trusts inhim.
What a contrast between a teachable person and one who willnot be taught by the Lord.
God will watch over the teachable person.
The unteachable will be like someone who has to be controlledby pain.
What do you want? The Lord’s unfailing love or the woes ofthe wicked?
Being taught by the Lord starts with knowing Jesus.

Confessing Sin
How did you come to Christ? We all come in different waysand different times. But there is one thing every person should do when theycome to Christ. It is found in Psalm 32 verse 5.
David wrote,
I acknowledged my sin to you,
and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, “I will confess mytransgressions to the Lord,”
and you forgave the iniquity of mysin.
If you haven’t confessed your sin to the Lord, you aren’t aChristian.
If you haven’t confessed your sin to the Lord, you aren’tforgiven.
You will still have to suffer the eternal consequences ofyour own sin.
The consequences will not be removed from you until you turnto Jesus for salvation and confess your sins.

Concealing Sin
Does God let you get away with sin?King David thought so for a while then he recorded whathappened in Psalm 32 verses 3 and 4.
For when I kept silent, my boneswasted away
through my groaning all day long.
For day and night your hand washeavy upon me;
my strength was dried up as by theheat of summer.
Concealing sin has physical consequences in this world. Goddidn’t let David get away with his sin.
Even though he did not admit his sin, he still knew what hedid was wrong and he suffered physically for it.
Many so-called diseases are a direct result of unconfessedsin.
Addictions, anger, ruined relationships, sexual deviancy allhave physical consequences such as depression, ulcers, and many more.
If you know you are sinning but are trying to hide it, youmay have physical or mental problems as a result.
If you don't know Jesus, then watch my video on YouTube and repent.
